THE YAPPY BUNCH are with Team Virrey in BAGUIO CITY, and for our first activity for the weekend, we went to the PHILIPPINE MILITARY ACADEMY!
PMA!!!!
The PMA was established in 1905 as the Officer's School, Philippine Constabulary. At first, it was located in Intramuros Manila, but through the years, it has set a permanent home in Fort General Gregorio H. del Pilar.
The Academy is known for meticulously training young Filipinos to become exceptional Military men.
Since we had a majority of boys in the group, we thought they would enjoy looking at the weapons and military display.
OR if they're naughty, we could just leave them here for deposit. Har de har har!!!
There is an entrance fee of P20.00 per person (ANG MAHAL NAMAN!!!!!!!!!) but I think it's totally worth it considering the many things you would see in the PMA!
Andrei was so excited to start our PMA tour and he was not afraid to express it!
First on the agenda was the PMA's Korean War Memorial site.
Besides seeing an abundance of trees and areas for photo ops...
The little boys saw tanks and an assortment of weaponry!
Wohoo! Let's do this!!!
The cool thing here is that you could really explore the tanks!
There were several of them on display.
Awww! My happy bunsoy!
I think it's really cool that they let visitors ride on the tanks.
The memorial site gave the opportunity for the boys to have a very close experience with the tanks.
Now who are you going to shoot little Andrei?
Of course, the kiddies weren't the only ones interested in the memorial display!
Team Virrey makes heavy artillery look good!
He he he he! Kami din!
Oooh! Look at that big tank!
AND the war memorabilia behind her.
He he he he he he!
We already spent a lot of time in the Korean War Memorial. Now what's next?
When you're in the PMA, it's good to check out the museum too!
Signing up!
My friend Aning said that before, only the museum charged the P20.00 entrance fee. Now, they will charge you once you enter the premises. It's fine since the price is very reasonable to the things you can do around it.
Take the PMA challenge Master Mati!
Hmmm... I think you should remove that hat Andrei. Ha ha ha ha ha!
There was a simple display inside the PMA museum!
In one of the rooms, Andrei checked out a small diorama depicting a significant event in Filipino history.
Sugod mga kapatid (sa picture)!!!!!!!!!
Best buds Johans and Master Mati went around the picture gallery.
There we saw different PMA uniforms.
They also gave us a look into their barracks.... well a model of it rather.
And the different PMA chevrons.
I kept asking the boys if they wanted to go out but they were really interested in this gallery of history of the academy.
A salute for the PMA!
It's not airconditioned in the PMA Museum but with the Baguio weather, it was still a bit cool inside. Do drop by and learn more about the PMA when you're here.
It may be hot but going around and checking out the different PMA halls was so fun!
That's why when you plan to go to the PMA, don't forget to bring a tub of very cold water....
And sunscreen!
If you forget any of those, you could always cover your face and just dab!
AUGH... Why is it Daddies can't dab?? Buti na lang pogi kayo.
In that area, we saw PMA's wall of annual plaques!
SALUTE!!!!
Ay si Andrei not following directions!
Andrei really looked for his year... 2006!
Uh oh... dear Aning and I made the mistake of pointing to 1975 when our year should be 1985!
HA!
He he he he he!
Airplane!!!
Or what's left of it ha ha ha ha ha!
Guess what our favorite hall is?
Maybe they named this after us because they know we're coming! Tee hee!
This calls for a dab!
Andrei liked this log cabin with the green roof.
Good thing that in the PMA, there were a lot of trees to shade us from the sun.
We came upon the PMA open field!
This is where they do most of the celebrations.
And the boys honored it with a dab!
We also got a bit of rest.
Oooh! We're sitting at where the VIPS usally seat during special ceremonies.
After the PMA open field, we checked out this tree house. It may be high but the bunsoy boys managed to get to the top.
The PMA was certainly an Academy that will give their students lovely walks under the trees and fresh greenery.
I'm so glad and thankful we went here with the YAPPY BUNCH!
It was, of course, extra fun with Team Virrey!
The boys are so into THE BEATLES right now. So when they saw this pedestrian lane, you know what that would remind them of. He he he he he!
Our last stop is their display on PMA aeronautical vehicles!
Helicopters!
Too bad master Mati can't go in.
The boys really liked this area.
GET TO THE CHOPPAH!
Egad! I heard that phrase several times during our visit there.
Uuuuy... Pa-sweet kami!
It was certainly interesting to see the different war crafts they used before.
It's time to go to our next stop. The boys got curious when they saw a small circle though.
Sorry I am really clueless what it is. But the boys still found something fun with it to do! Ha ha ha ha ha!
Because that's how we roll!
After a lot of walking and posing at the PMA, we had some ice cream and snacks to get energized for our next gimmick for the day.
====================
When you're in Baguio City and looking to go somewhere that your little kiddies would enjoy, do check out the Philippine Military Academy! There are a lot of memorabilia and items on display you will find very interesting. It's so cool too that you could see old tanks, weapons, etc, really up close! Plus, you might inspire your little by showing them where the Philippine's top Military men studied.
Not only that, you would see a number of beautiful sceneries that are SO perfect for pictures.
But if you're like us, picture picture everywhere!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
