MOONBAY MARINA LEISURE RESORT - SUBIC (PART TWO)

It was THE YAPPY BUNCH's first time to go to Subic as a family and even if there were asungots around (bwa ha ha ha ha) we were still having loads of fun.

If you're following this silly little foodie blog, you would know that it doesn't really take much to make us happy, as in mababaw lang ang mga kaligayahan namin. I would always tell the kids that as long as we are together we're going to have loads of fun no matter where we are.

That's why for this weekend, even if we're in a simple (yet lovely) resort, with asungots (who are like family naman, ha ha ha ha), and without doing the other activities that Subic is known for (meh we're lazy), THE YAPPY BUNCH still had a memorable and awesome time!

MOONBAY MARINA LEISURE RESORT - SUBIC (PART ONE)

My little guys' summer vacation started in May that by the time their schoolyear was done, it was already in the middle of the rainy season. Oh well... So that meant we'll be doing our "summer" fun in the rain.

Though we were perfectly happy of course with just swimming in our favorite Valle Verde Country Club, we were somehow still craving for some sand and sun that summer vacation usually warranted. The Yub and I were planning something for the kids when our Bawal Panget Group (he he he he) wanted to have an out of town trip too. Wow! That would surely be fun!

Most of the popular resorts were already fully booked but good thing we found this simple and affordable one in Subic that garnered good reviews -- MOONBAY MARINA LEISURE RESORT.

Mabilis pa sa alas kwatro our good ol' friend Gem immediately booked for the whole gang that before anyone could change their minds, sorry, no can do. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Good thing because it was such a fun weekend that it would be a shame for those who'll miss it. As for us, we're thankful again for this opportunity to have another weekend of exploring new territory as a family -- the whole weekend was actually super fun because of them.

OUR YAPPY SUMMER 2019 (PART TWO)

My YAPPY SUMMER 2019 feature was supposed to be one looooooooooooooooooooooooong excruciating post but then I took pity on my one or two readers (icharge pa sakin ang pagpapagawa ng salamin  nila) that I thought of just making it a two-parter. Tee hee!!!

Yeah... I know... I know that I could get a little bit too detailed in my blog posts but it's because I consider times with my ugly husband, my boys, my family, and my few close friends to be the best experiences of all that I don't want to miss out on anything (even if it's just a very minute detail of like, let's say, cleaning the bathroom... I SWEAR). So sorry na lang kayo that I'm sharing it with you. Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Here's part TWO of our YAPPY SUMMER that, even if we had three months of school break, it was still OH SO bitin for all of us!!!

OUR YAPPY SUMMER 2019 (PART ONE)

My little guys' school is adjusting to start classes at August to follow the newly recommended regulations by CHED.

Wow! So that meant by boys will have a 3 month vacation??? YEHESSSS!!!

HOWEVER...

You'd think that 3 months is more than enough...
You'd think that 3 months will get us all so bored...
You'd think that we'll be raring to send the boys back to school...

BUT NOOOOH...

The three months school vacation was still "BITIN" with a capital B and WHYYYY Huhuhu!!! Why can't vacations last forever? I'll surely miss having them around, going on foodtrips, and doing stuff until the late nights.  My little guys certainly feel the same.

Check out the long (but not so much) school vacation of the boys and how those 3 months just whizzed by like a shooting star defying the laws of gravity (thanks Queen).

And of course, I'll still say it (like I often do) to commemorate our love for summer:

No more classes! No more books!
No more teacher's dirty looks!

This was by far the boys' best summer vacation yet!!!

YIHIII!!! 

Master Mati was finally "free"!!! He woke up late and enjoyed his breakfast. Yep! Nobody was telling him to hurry up.

As for Andrei, he didn't have classes anymore but he still had to go to school to attend graduation practices, so, it's not fully vacation mode yet!

SWIMMING AT VALLE VERDE (SUMMER 2019)

It's finally SUMMER (when I made this blog... he he he), and though the little lords had their vacation later than others (last day of school was on May), we still wanted to do the usual summer activities that would get us hungry and wet!

We could plan an out-of-town getaways however that could be very pricey and time-consuming. That's why we're very thankful to my brother and sister-in-law for treating us to our ever favorite Valle Verde country club for some mean swimming and eating!

Yay!

We're here!!! And yep, even if it's already May, the weather was so VERY hot!

OUR YAPPY SUMMER 2018

"No more classes! No more books! No more teachers' dirty looks!"

Yohooo it's summertime!!!!!

Besides Christmas, Halloween, and heck, even my birthday, I think SUMMER is one of my favorite "times" of all! Because not only do I have to forget about the boys' schoolwork (considering that I consider studying as a nightmare), I will also not have to wake up at the ungodly hour of 5:30am to check their breakfast and make their baon.

And since I don't have to wake up early everyday, that means I could stay up so late every night doing my blog, watching my series, go on night outs with my Yappy Bunch, watching dibidis, have meet-ups with friends, watch youtube videos, have midnight snacks, watch dibidis again.... He he he he he!

The best part too is that I just learned the boys' school will be adjusting the schoolyear that's why classes will resume on July 3!!

YIPEE SKIP! 3 MONTHS OF SUMMER! I think I've hit the jackpot!!! Yohooo! Party! Party! Tugs! Tugs!

Check out our glorious 3 months of super awesome summer fun! We surely had an unforgettable no-school vacation with the boys.

And guess what?? Even if we've already had a looooong 3 months of summer, it was still so bitin!!!!

Can't wait for next year! Har de har har!

And when it's summer, you know what that means.

Time to adjust my alarms because I AM NOT WAKING UP EARLY! HA!!!!

BIKING AND BOATING AT BURNHAM PARK!!!! (BAGUIO 2017)

One of the cardinal rules when going to BAGUIO is that you should never EVER, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER miss the chance to go biking and boating in BURNHAM PARK. I think everyone who has ever gone to BAGUIO has done it so why don't you? Of course with the emergence of modern technology and popular new activities, it may be cheesy and "baduy" to go there. But personally, I find having a family day at BURNHAM PARK to be something like a tradition -- a fun old-fashioned way to reminisce when life was simple. And now, when most of the kiddies are already so jaded that a friggin gold bar may be just MEH to them, it would really be great for them to experience what got us shrieking with enjoyment before.

Always remember that good, clean, fun will never go out of style. And in Baguio, BURNHAM PARK will give you all of that plus a cool time with your loved ones -- literally!!!!

BURNHAM PARK was named after architect Daniel Burnham who laid the plans in the city. The popular park is a 32.8 hectare land that also have a man-made lake, an arcade, a grand stand, a football field, AND...

a bike area!!!

SEAFOOD LUNCH (DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT)

It's our last meal in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH resort and it was the best one yet.

Because this time, we will be having an abundance of seafoods that Dapitan is known for!

Seriously, we're not that looking forward to lunch because we had a heavy meal of their delicious breakfast buffet.

But then, the owner of DAKAK passed by our casitas and said we should go to the cafe for the special seafood lunch that they prepared for us.

Now how can you say no to that???

And personally, after I heard the word "seafood", something inside me instantly growled!

We waddled towards LE BAMBOO CAFE, curious with what's going to be served to us.

  

DAKAK AQUA SPORTS CENTER (2016)

It is day 3 of our DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT adventure and we are set to depart for Manila after lunch. But even if we are supposed to pack and get ready for the flight, we are still relishing all the fun and excitement that the resort has for us!

And we are capping our beach activities in the DAKAK AQUA SPORTS CENTER!

It was a beautiful and peaceful morning!

The waters in DAKAK may be inviting but I just don't feel like swimming.

GLORIA FANTASYLAND (DAPITAN CITY)

It's our second day in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT and for this Saturday we already did the following:

1.   Fill-up on a heavy buffet breakfast at LE BAMBOO CAFE!

2. Horseback riding, ATV-ing, and ZIP lining at DAKAK ADVENTURE ZONE!

3.  Learning about our beloved Dr. Jose Rizal in the DAPITAN HISTORICAL TOUR!

4.   Lunching and cruising at DAKAK RIVER CRUISE!


Now do you think it's time to go home for our group?

HELL NO!

Because we are still going to have some serious awesome fun for our "nightcap"!!!

And we're going to do it in GLORIA FANTASYLAND!!!!

I was with my TAPE INC family for our DAKAK PARK AND BEACH resort weekend. And after a activity packed day, we decided to squeeze in GLORIA FANTASYLAND!

GLORIA FANTASYLAND is located in GLORIA DE DAPITAN, in DAPITAN city, Zamboanga del Norte.

DAKAK RIVER CRUISE

Last July 2016, I was with my TAPE Inc family for a semi-company outing in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT. Even though the trip got delayed, the wait was indeed worth it because we were all having a great time.

After a heavy breakfast in LE BAMBOO CAFE, ziplining in DAKAK ADVENTURE ZONE, and going on a historical tour, it was time for our late lunch. At first we thought we were going to eat in one of the many restaurants in Dapitan which claimed to serve the "best seafood" there is. But lo and behold, we were going for a different kind of late lunch.... 

We'll be eating on the DAKAK RIVER CRUISE!

WOAH!

And there she is!

DAKAK ADVENTURE ZONE

Whenever I go on a getaway trip, I would always imagine myself lounging by the pool, bathing under the sun, and drinking a tall glass of ripe mango shake. Activities would usually consist of walking along the beach, piling my plate during buffet breakfast, and just snoozing in the hotel bed until whatever time we desire.

However, all changed when my officemates and I went to DAKAK BEACH RESORT!!

I don't think I could never stress how much I could be SO lazy during the weekends. My point is that from Monday to Friday, I would get up early for the boys, work the whole day till night, and sleep very late. As a result, come Saturday and Sunday, I just want to turn into a sloth.

Such was my expectation during our supposed to be weekend vacation but I never expected that it was going to be an adventurous 2 days! I already get tired just thinking about it! Our DAKAK weekend was really unforgettable for us because I was able to do things that I have never thought of doing in my lazy lifetime.

And one of them was during our afternoon in DAKAK ADVENTURE ZONE!!!!

It's our first morning in DAKAK BEACH RESORT and we were all so excited to begin our day!

But of course, to successfully jump start our Saturday, we needed to be "properly nourished". And LE BAMBOO CAFE definitely gave us what we deliciously needed for an energized day of fun ahead!!!!

It already seemed like a fiesta this morning!

HISTORICAL RIZAL TOUR (DAKAK WEEKEND 2016)

Whenever I make a trip, be it an out-of-town or out-of-the-country destination, I make it a point to eat the local foods AND visit the popular sites of the place. Shopping? That's a big NADAH. If I do shop it's just to buy gifts for my family at home. My point is, I could always shop in the Philippines. Though the price may be a bit higher, I would not exchange saving a few pesos than having a trip to, let's say, The Stonehenge (WHICH is still on my must-go-to list).

Of course, beaches, resorts, restaurants, are all fine. But going on a trip where there is a lot of history behind it, is another. That is why I really (as in SUPERKADUPER REALLY ) appreciated AND enjoyed our trip to DAKAK in DIPOLOG. Because not only were we able to have fun in the sand and sun, but we were also able to go on a historical tour that was so near our hearts. Yup. We were able to explore the sites and stories of Jose Rizal, our National Hero, while he was in exile in Dapitan.

During this tour with my TAPE Inc. family, I can't help but wish how the boys were with me on the trip. Sure they would enjoy swimming in the resort, but I could just imagine Andrei's wide and curious eyes when he sees the significant places and hears stories about his favorite hero Jose Rizal.

So if you're planning to book a trip somewhere and want something more than just the usual beach resort, check out Dipolog and go on a Jose Rizal historical tour. Believe me, you'll appreciate the vacation more when you see the sites and learn about our National Hero.

Personally it brings a weekend to another kind of enjoyment level, don't you think? It's actually my dealmaker now when choosing between vacation sites!

We officially started our HISTORICAL RIZAL TOUR by going to Jose Rizal's Landing Site in Dapitan upon our arrival!

The landing site is the shrine to commemorate the exact place where Jose Rizal arrived on the shores of Sta. Cruz, Dapitan on July 17, 1892.

My TAPE Inc friends and I were in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT and we all know that we'll have an awesome and unforgettable weekend! However, our flight going to Dipolog via Cebu Pacific was delayed for several hours so needless to say, we were tired AND hungry. When we finally got to the resort, it was very reassuring AND exciting that hot seafood were waiting for us...

LE BAMBOO CAFE is the restaurant in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT that specializes in seafoods plus more!

The place is vibrant and festive with the bright colors from the banderitas and decors.

PART THREE - DAKAK DREAM WEEKEND (2016)

It's our 3rd and last day of our DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT weekend and the fun is NOT stopping at all!!

If yesterday we flew, rode horses, ate on a boat, raided a haunted house, and became gluttons for a day, today, we're going to focus our lovely attentions on the beach!!!!

Because really, what's a stay in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT if you don't get wet?

However, I'm not talking about JUST swimming here!

We tried to wake up early but once again, we dragged ourselves out of bed at around 8:00am!

We were going to have a BIG seafood lunch later on (here at the same restaurant) but we cannot just let the breakfast buffet pass up!

OUR YAPPY SUMMER 2016

I really love summer. Seriously.

Not just "Oh summer is so fun" kind of love. More like "EGAD. It's going to be 294 days till life is worth living again!!!!"

I was so obsessed with it and I'm sure that like any normal human being, you know why.

You cannot really blame us. I always maintained that I had such a happy childhood and some of the memories that I deemed super special were the ones when school was out. I remember doing a lot of things: my family would have out of town trips, we get to sleep late (but we still did chores!), we had sleepovers, we ate our favorite hot meals the whole day, and we could watch TV as much as we wanted (as long as it's after 12:00pm!!!). My parents really put in extra effort just so that my siblings and I will enjoy the "everyday is a holiday" season. But of course, I didn't just waited for my Mom and Dad all day to be able to do something. I also did things on my own: I made mixed tapes (heard of that??), I made videos (using a big camera), I drew comics, I baked pies and cookies, and I even wrote books similar to "Sweet Dreams!"

Woah... All of that seems so tiring when I read it today. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

That's why, every summer the Chinese Adonis and I make it a point to have a worthy vacation for the little lords: we would have them take classes and go on workshops (2014), or we would have staycations and family trips (2015). This year, we decided to do a little bit of both and we still had loads of fun all the same!

And like before, the Chinese Adonis and I had a LOT of "us" time during the little lords' summer vacation: we had dinner dates  and gimiks on weekdays and we would watch dibidis all night long!!!!

So see? No matter how outrageous or simple that we spend it, SUMMER IS ALWAYS A BLAST for the YAPPY BUNCH. Check out how we spent it this year!

THE YAPPY BUNCH was in Clark, Angeles City, Pampanga, with friends to battle this summer's mega heat with A LOT OF SWIMMING and SLIDING!!!!!

And we will do THAT in FONTANA THEME WATER PARK!!!!

A WEEKEND IN MIMOSA VILLAS (Clark Pampanga)

THE YAPPY BUNCH were invited for a weekend in Clark, Pampanga with Team Virrey, Team Castelo, and Team Navarro and we were all psyched!!!!

And for that fantabulous weekend, we will be staying at MIMOSA VILLAS!!!!!

TRAMPOLINE PARK (GREENFIELD DISTRICT)

The Chinese Dimpol and I always love to try out new things with the little lords that when new attractions come up, we would certainly go for it. One of the popular activities that caught our eyes lately was  the TRAMPOLINE PARK -- an establishment which tires out its guests from jumping all their might on their, you guessed it, trampolines.

After we brought discount vouchers online did we realize that TRAMPOLINE PARK was different from JUMPYARD (he he he he he). It's okay. At least we got ours at a cheaper price. PLUS, we would have another excuse to try out ANOTHER trampoline establishment.

So for now we're set for a hopping good time at TRAMPOLINE PARK and we're all excited!

Jeez... I hope I don't jump a hole on one of the trampolines! He he he he he he!
