CAFE JUANITA

It was the birthday of mareng Gail and finally we were able to celebrate at a restaurant I've been wanting to try for a long time...

Photo grabbed from net
CAFE JUANITA!!!!

CAFE JUANITA is not your usual and traditional Filipino restaurant. When you enter, you won't see ordinary of tables and chairs. There is no regular pattern or arrangement. It's like you entered somebody's home and the host decided to set it up to accommodate an impromptu party.

There is a lot to see and look at in CAFE JUANITA. You might even find yourself staring at chairs each bearing different designs.

It's a cross between antique and chic! Check out the adorned bird cages hanging almost everywhere.

If you need to call their servers, you just have to reach out for the bell!

The vibe is still overall romantic. You wouldn't be ashamed to bring your date here.

Not only does it look good but based on the awards and recognitions, CAFE JUANITA seems to serve really delicious food too!

I arrived a little bit late because I came from work. Good thing the Chinese Adonis waited for me (a bit!!) so we could eat together.

Pareng Jun and mareng Gail, the birthday celebrant!!!!

I think whoever took this picture was still hungry! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

AND FINALLY, FOOD IS HERE!!!

Check out the CAFE JUANITA grub!!

CAFE JUANITA Chicharon Bulaklak (P271.00) was crunchy, salty, and addicting! I swear if my nape won't suffer from eating plates of these, I would order this always!! So perfect with rice even if it IS an appetizer!

CAFE JUANITA Gambas Ala Jillo (P277.00) is another appetizer that I always eat with rice. You couldn't go wrong with the fatty shrimps swimming in oil that is heavily packed with garlic and savory flavors. Yummers!

When I was asking mareng Gail what to order she immediately recommended the CAFE JUANITA Bagnet Salad (P422.00)! At first I was doubtful because it didn't look much. But after my first bite of the crunchy bagnet that was matched with spoonfuls of rice with the vegetables, I was hooked. I would DEFINITELY order this again! Sarap!

CAFE JUANITA Sisig on Tofu (P410.00) may not look weird but it was scraped clean when everyone was done. I don't blame whoever ordered this because it IS liberating to match something sinful with a healthy option. He he he he he he!

CAFE JUANITA Prawn Cereals!

CAFE JUANITA Osso Busco with Rice!

Beef Caldereta (P498.00) is a must order in CAFE JUANITA!

Now I don't know what this is. Ha ha ha ha ha!

The Chinese Adonis also ordered the CAFE JUANITA Crispy Dinuguan (P325.00) and as expected it was a delicious winner! The thick hearty stew was complemented with the crunch of the tasty pork. Again, you'll be craving for MORE rice after just one spoonful of it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mareng Gail!

And now it's time to EAT!

My plate! My SUPER-DELICIOUS-CAFE-JUANITA-FILLED plate!

For dessert, many ordered the CAFE JUANITA Crepe Samurai (P149.00) that was creamy, luscious and sweet with fresh mangoes!

Of course, I could never have dessert without a cup of freshly brewed coffee!

During dessert, I surprised mareng Gail with a birthday song and a big slice of Canonigo!

Check out the people stretching their necks to see who we were singing to.

"Oo na ikaw na ang may bertdey!"

Birthdays are always more fun of course with a cake, candle, and a song!

Afterwards it's gifts galore!

I gave mareng Gail these lip tints -- her wish the last time we saw each other.

She got a mac lipstick too!

Plusssss... I don't know what that is. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Our CAFE JUANITA bill!

We had a great birthday dinner for mareng Gail at CAFE JUANITA. The food was awesome and got me craving for more. HOWEVER, they should really improve on their service. The manager was not very accommodating and it rubbed off on some of the servers. Good thing that their delicious food would somehow entice me to go back.

I heard somebody say that the former manager of the restaurant was more hospitable. To give the CAFE JUANITA owner credit, when they heard that we had some concerns with their service (as I accidentally mentioned the experience to a friend who knows them), they really made an effort to address it. Kudos to them!!!!

Hmmm... Well maybe they really wanted to see these faces return for many times more.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA H AHA!

Dan. Dan. DAAAAAAN!

  1. I could just imagine how the person assigned to clean all those ornaments feel about being asked to dust all the items in there! LOL!
