A DEAN AND DELUCA BIRTHDAY

My dear mareng Gail recently celebrated her birthday and like what I would always do during that momentous event (naks), I treated her out at the restaurant of her choice.

At first it became sort of a tug of war between us with the neverending "You choose"... "No YOU choose".... "No, you choose" type of argument. Finally she relented that since it was HER birthday, she'll have dinner HER way.

And for that night, she chose DEAN AND DELUCA!

DEAN AND DELUCA was actually jampacked that night so it was a good thing we were able to get a table after a bit of wait.

ROLL CALL!

Mareng Gail and Pareng Jun!

My! She doesn't look like a day over 60! He he he he he he!

Dean and Deluca!

Tee hee!

Even if there were a lot of people, we were still being served well by this cutie pie waiter. He was very accommodating and our food arrived in no time!

First on our table was a plate of DEAN AND DELUCA Carbonara (P450.00).

Pasta was al dente and got an extra layer of crunch and flavor with the crispy bacon. It was not cloyingly creamy like other carbonaras but the egg yolk certainly gave the richness that we love in this dish.

Mareng Gail and I are TRYING to go for the healthy route so we ordered the DEAN AND DELUCA Caesar Salad (P380.00).

Caesar Salad has been my favorite for veggies since when I was little and with DEAN AND DELUCA, I was reminded why I loved this so muchos. The lettuce was crisp and tossed well with my favorite cheesy dressing. The egg yolk once again lorded over with its golden glistening sauce And the slab of bacon with the slivers of parmesan gave the salty and earthy flavors that make this dish more appetizing.

Is it wrong that I mopped the extra dressing using the crusty garlic bread? I think not!

When you go to DEAN AND DELUCA, thou shall not forget to order their delicious New York style pizzas. Our favorite has always been the Margherita (P800.00) because it just had the right amount of toppings for us.

It's just a no-fuss pizza with only cheese and basil leaves. So yum to munch on especially with the crunchy and chewy crust!

When we go to DEAN AND DELUCA, the Chinese Adonis ALWAYS order the Cubano (P650.00). Don't be fooled by the simple appearance of this sandwich. Believe me this is LOADED with different kinds of meats that my man would always share it with me because it might destroy his 6 pack.

Okay fine he only has a 4 pack and it's really made out of flab but you know what I mean.

ERICJAZ FOODIES with Team Campo in DEAN AND DELUCA!

My plate! My perfectly meaty, carby, greeny, fatty, AND delicious DEAN AND DELUCA plate!!!!

And once again I toss aside my useless diet!

Mareng Gail enjoying her wishes!

Now you see it....

Now you don't.

After our delicious dinner, I got meself a cup of hot cappuccino (P150.00).

While mareng Gail drained her Strawberry and Banana smoothie (P180.00)!

And later on...

Surprise!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, it's no birthday without a song and candles! Make your wish mare!

And, I packed a sparkling candle to add more glitter and glory for mareng Gail's birthday dinner with us!!!!

Yohooo!

The smoke alarm is about to go off!!!!

For mareng Gail's birthday song, I ordered DEAN AND DELUCA'S Pain Au Chocolat (P110.00). I love how buttery and flaky each bite is. It is also very chewy to the bite and had the right amount of chocolate fudge. Wow! So addicting! I can't stop at one!

My DEAN AND DELUCA bill!

Such a great night celebrating not just a birthday but a loving and lasting friendship. Like what you said before mare, you're stuck with me. So expect MORE of this in the future.

Happy 90th birthday!

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAA!
