SUNDAY ROAST AT DUKE OF YORK - LONDON

While we were planning for our recent trip to London, I saw many recommendations that we should try having a SUNDAY ROAST.

What's a SUNDAY ROAST?

SUNDAY ROASTS, as defined by mareng Wikipedia, "
is a traditional meal of British origin. Although it can be consumed throughout the week, it is traditionally consumed on Sunday. A plate usually consists of roasted meat, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes and accompaniments such as Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, gravy, and condiments such as apple sauce, mint sauce, or redcurrant sauce.

ANAK NG... ALL OF THAT IN ONE PLATE??? WE WOULD BE CRAZY NOT TO TRY IT OUT!!!! Ha ha ha ha!

(Ayan I almost said profanities... tee hee)

ANYWHO..... So on a particularly lazy Sunday in LONDON (naks) we decided to go for that SUNDAY ROAST.  The Yub searched around and saw many positive reviews on....

THE DUKE OF YORK!

Good Sunday morning!!!!!

I'm a normally lazy person in the Philippines, BUT in London... I'm sooo game to walk miles and miles.

And here we are...

THE DUKE OF YORK!

Checking out the menu...

Most pubs in LONDON have their menus posted outside.

Very convenient!

For the life of me I don't know why pubs in London are always in corners.

Could somebody comment why???

Ooooh... They have a party party tugs tugs soon!

A chalk board at the entrance just adds a personalized touch every visit.

They say in London, PUBS are like their coffee houses...

Londoners would usually go here to unwind and meet up with friends.

The Yub called to make reservations to make sure but really there's no need that morning as the place was almost empty.

Still, it was nice to book a table and see THIS when we arrived.

We liking the sights here....

Casual yet chic and homey!

DUKE OF YORK really has that "Where everybody knows your name" kind of vibe.

Fancy a pint????

ROLL CALL!!!!!

THE Duke of York and King Henry...

Prince William and Princess Diana.

TEE HEE!

Oh pooh I'm just joking!

DUKE OF YORK menu!

They only have a page but it has everything we need already. He he he he he!

Check out our hot server!

AHEM AHEM!!

My handsome guysh!

EEYAHOOO!!!

Food is here!!!! :)

For starters we got some DUKE OF YORK Sourdough and Butter (4.00GBP).

Bread was toasted lightly and had that nice charred taste. Went so well with the creaminess of the butter.

I so love carbs so this was a VERY nice starter to chomp on before we move on to the other food.

First hot plate on the table was DUKE OF YORK's Hertfordshire Rump of Beef (21.00GBP)!

It may not be done to the likeness that we wanted but the meat was still tender and very flavorful.

And as our mission for this morning, we got a SUNDAY ROAST (26.00GBP)!!!!!

We got roasted Chicken, Pork, and Beef over grilled vegetables, baked potatoes, ANNNNND yorkshire pudding!

The meat may look dry but promise it's not.

The gravy was glorious too and we asked for second and third helpings of it. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

We loved it especially when the Yorkshire pudding would soak up all tha rich gravy goodness that when you put it in your mouth, you'll get that crusty and burst of savory sauce!

ERICJAZ FOODIES in DUKE OF YORK!!!!

LET'S EAT!!!!

Nom... nom...

We may have only ordered 2 plates but it was more than enough for all of us.

I remember somebody commenting, the meat seems to be multiplying because no matter how much we get, there's still more on the plate!!!!!

HINDI NABABAWASAN!

And finally...

BURPPP!!!!!!!

We may have been so full BUT we still made room for DUKE OF YORK's Sticky Toffee Pudding (7.50GBP).

The pudding was warm and freshly baked from the oven. It was extra sticky and smackingly sweet. The pudding was sooooo yum with the vanilla ice cream.

SUUUUPER DELISH!!!!

One second it was there, and the next...

AUUUGHHHH no more pudding!

Oh well... It's okay. Our buttons were all popping out anyway.

LE BILL!!!

65.81GBP... AKA P4,667.24!!!!!!

And it's time to walk off all the meat fats by strolling through the streets of London!

Yep! Our walking got us here. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

We were so happy with our first pub experience to have Sunday roast that it will be the first of many meals at a pub!!!

Yep.

DUKE OF YORK is pub no. 1 in London!

Stay tuned for 2, 3, and 4...

Tee to the HEE!

SO.
