CUCINA VICTORIA

I LOVE my eldest son MATI.

I love him IMMENSELY.

Even if I work and get home late, I wake up at 5:30am everyday to prepare his breakfast, eat with him, and get him ready for school.

While I was pregnant with him, I made him a scrapbook and wrote him letters. I plan to give it to him when he gets married  someday (Uh oh... tears coming).

There was even a time when Mati was a baby and he was so congested with sinus that he cannot breathe. This sounds gross but since I did not trust the plastic ones, I personally sucked the mucus out of his nose so that he'll be instantly relieved... ASAP.

Sometimes, even if it was date night for me and the hub, I would insist on having Mati join us because everything just seems fun with him around. I even take him with us when I meet with friends.

I could go on and on and on about how much I love my little man.

HOWEVER...

When it comes to food... it's fair game.

And after eating at CUCINA VICTORIA... I think it's high time for me to get that DNA test...

OH I AM JUST KIDDING! Ha ha ha ha!

CUCINA VICTORIA!

We have always been a fan of CUCINA VICTORIA because it served one of the most delectable (and filipino friendly) italian food within a 30 mile radius. We are absolute fans of their pasta, rice dishes, and their specialty, the clam chowder in sourdough bread!!

If you do get a chance, try CUCINA VICTORIA and I'm sure you'll be giving your GRAZIES while eating!

By the way, la pizza è un po 'piccola, ma è ancora delizioso.

Copy paste THAT to your google translate!

Hmmm... Should I order my usual favorites in CUCINA VICTORIA?

I was addicted to all bottomless drinks before so I had CUCINA VICTORIA's Iced Tea (P75.00).

I sat beside my favorite little man Mati....

And then out of the blue, he decided to own my CUCINA VICTORIA bottomless iced tea!!!

Of course for practical "tipid" or monetary reasons, I don't want to order another one. So I just gave my iced tea to him and was left with water (grumble grumble!)

The interiors of CUCINA VICTORIA is warm, homey and inviting but we still preferred to sit "outside" for a bit of people watching in the mall. Ha ha ha ha!

DATE night at CUCINA VICTORIA with the Master Mati!

I ordered my ultimate favorite in CUCINA VICTORIA (besides the Clamsoup in Sourdough bread)....

CUCINA VICTORIA's Gambellini (P315.00)!!

(Jaz - Sorry, will update this post with our order of their famous soup!)

The first time I saw it on the menu, the waiter at CUCINA VICTORIA said it tasted something like the Gambas Tapas they served in Spanish Restaurants.

One forkful of the oil based pasta dish and I was hooked. I loved the similarity of the dish with aglio olio but with the hefty serving of fat shrimps and green chilis.

CUCINA VICTORIA I love you! This is SO good!

... and it's mine... all mine!!!

Until...

Master Mati got a lot of my CUCINA VICTORIA's Gambellini pasta from my plate as well...

I know that they said for Mom's "isusubo mo na lang ibibigay mo pa sa anak mo" ("Mom's give what they have to their kids even if they are about to put it inside their mouths..." sorry I'm not good with translations he he he), but COME ON!

This is MY CUCINA VICTORIA Gambellini pasta! IT... IS... MINE.

I ordered it. Therefore it is mine!

But did my first born care of my "foodie rules"?

NOOOOH!

Even if the Master Mati already ordered his own CUCINA VICTORIA Pizza Pepperoni (P180.00), he still ate my gambellini with gusto!

(Grumble grumble)

The little Master did not let me have a taste of his pizza as well... But looking at it, CUCINA VICTORIA s pizza was all gooey and saucy... You would THINK that with this great order and my iced tea he will let me eat in peace?

Oh no he did NOT. The little Master ate, chomped, and gulped to his heart's content without a care in the world!!

To think (enter usual Mommy dialogue) I carried him for 9 months! 9 MONTHS! And he can't leave my pasta and iced tea alone??

Why is he being so inconsiderate?

Ha ha ha ha!

When I asked my husband to defend my honor, he said (while chewing with his mouth open), "Hayaan mo na anak mo yan e" ("Just let it be, he's your son").

Yeah... just because he was not interested with your order of CUCINA VICTORIA Cheese Steak sandwich (P295.00).

My husband enjoyed doing the lecture on generosity but me thinks he's just relieved that our now foodie son did not take an interest in his beautiful CUCINA VICTORIA sandwich.

Yub said he loved every meaty bite of it since the sandwich had gravy and lots of juices. He liked it a lot that he even ate the ONIONS! (Regal shocker... he he he!)

He did not mind that CUCINA VICTORIA had some instant potato chips on the side. The sandwich was more than enough to make him happy and feel all "lecture-y".

For our next Saturday dinner date, guess where we ate?

CUCINA VICTORIA once more!

The hub was there...

... and I was there.

The Master Mati?

With his Lolo and Lola!

(Diabolical laugh)

Ha ha ha ha!

I ordered this time CUCINA VICTORIA's Pomodoro con Vongole (P285.00).

This seafood olive based pasta was light to the taste buds but ultra satisfying...

and it's MINE.

My husband ordered another one of our favorites, the CUCINA VICTORIA Chicken Salpicao (P285.00) which comes with rice (plain or garlic fried) and buttered vegetables.

Vegetables are always flavorful and crunchy...

While Chicken are all juicy and perfectly seasoned! This is PERFECT with the rice!!!

Even if my husband's lover, este, order was one of my favorites, I was happy with my pasta from CUCINA VICTORIA.

I'm happy that because the little Master Mati was not around, I could put in a whole bottle of chili flakes and nobody would throw a tantrum!

Yum! All done! (Smack! Smack!)

I can't believe I (alone) ate the whole thing! :P

I sincerely hope that anyone reading this will not take my jokes seriously. Everything is definitely very obvious:

Of course I love my first born with all my life as he is the living proof that I have done something good to deserve such a perfect boy who calls me Mom...

Of course I will always put my Master Mati first before anything else! He is the reason (besides Andrei) why I breathe and why the Sun shines for me everyday!

Of course I am so proud that he is also becoming a foodie! I definitely look forward to taking him in future food trips with us even if it IS a date night!

Of course I will share all my future CUCINA VICTORIA grub with him....

Wait a minute... I take that back.

OH ... I... AM... KIDDING!!! HE HE HE HE!

  3. That's a really cute story on Cucina Victoria and your family. I showed this to my mom and she was so happy to see that your family enjoyed eating her food. This really made her day. Thank you so much for writing about Cucina Victoria!
