TASTE ASIA (SM HYPERMARKET FOOD COURT)

One of the reasons we love going to SM HYPERMARKET is that it closes late compared to other malls in the Metro. When most establishments are locking their doors at 9:00pm, SM HYPERMARKET is still welcoming shoppers up to 11:00pm! This is very convenient to those who have late working hours when you just HAVE to have something that cannot wait till the next day, like let's say.... toothpaste.

Oh please. My example is not that trivial. Ha ha ha ha!

Anyway, SM HYPERMARKET is very much like Walmart because it has a grocery and department store all in one. And what better way to rest your chops after hours of walking around finding that PERFECT toothpaste, by resting and energizing with LOTS of food!

And that is where we bring you, TASTE ASIA.

Dan... dan... DAAAANN.....

TASTE ASIA is actually a huge section at SM HYPERMARKET with a food court set up.

They have a vast array of dishes under its wing and you could could choose from different types of Asian cuisines be it Japanese, Filipino, Chinese, Italian (wait Asia nga pala so forget that), and Korean.

My husband, the Chinese stalker, was drooling at some ribs at the other side of the food court but we decided to try out the roast chicken.

At only P135 per whole chicken, it was quite a steal!

Next time ribs... Next time...

Because we are having this TASTE ASIA Chicken!

Oh yeah... this TASTE ASIA chicken looks good even from afar!

For our meal that day we also decided to order some sisig in the Filipino section...

(Sorry this was before I did this silly little foodie blog so I just pointed and shot....

Come to think of it, I'm still guilty of that up to now. Ha ha ha ha ha!)

Mati got ready to devour his java rice!

We had 2 orders of Sisig since we were with my family!

TASTE ASIA sisig was not as crunchy as we are used to from Dencios but it was still very tasty nonetheless!!!

This TASTE ASIA sisig was PERFECT with the java rice from Reyes Barbecue! YUM!

We also got some TASTE ASIA Miki Bihon!

Believe me this is one of the best Miki Bihon Pansit I have ever had! The whole noodle dish was just perfectly delectable and saucy! I loved how they cooked the liver that I would pick it all out for me before it was passed onto another family member.

My baby Andrei is a very picky eater but he loves the saucy Miki Bihon of TASTE ASIA!!! He also eats the vegetables if it came from this noodle dish!

LET'S EAT!!!

Yub's plate is still empty though... Ha ha ha ha!

But mine is already full from all the TASTE ASIA GOODIES!

And finally after feeding Andrei, I get to eat!!!

Yub takes a dirty bite at his fatty pork barbecue!

Awww... Since he was done eating, Andrei flashed his signature "cute cute" smile!

My plate! My wonderful plate!

I suddenly thought of giving my first born a tight hug but he wanted to get away from me asap....

So he could have his TASTE ASIA shaved ice with sweet sauce!

This is Andrei's favorite too!

The kids were already having dessert but I was still eating in TASTE ASIA!

It's okay. Andrei was so sweet and even offered me some of his dessert! Awwww!

LET'S EAT! AGAIN!

BOUTIQUE BED AND BREAKFAST

We got a lot of recommendations that the ribs in Boutique B and B was something worth going to Tagaytay for. So for dinner, even if we earlier had snacks of pizza and pancit canton, we marched to BOUTIQUE just to taste their ribs... The ribs were lipsmacking tender and juicy and was not sour like the usual american flavoring. We've had other better ribs, but if we suddenly find ourselves craving for meaty, juicy, and succulent ribs while we're in Tagaytay, then BOUTIQUE is the way to go :)

Boutique Bed and Breakfast Hawaiian grub!

But when we got there, somebody decided to do a number and just stood at the corner :) My baby still looked so cute though!

While my first baby proceeded to play around their open area. I don't blame him because it is very cozy and homey. He just felt that it is his territory.

Waiting to clean up somebody :)

I tried calling Mati but his pet frog said he is still unavailable. Ha ha ha!

Food is here!

And THAT is a great piece of meat there :)

TEAM YAP!

Their Barbecues were very tender and juicy!!! I loved the flavoring of the sauce with the right level of sweetness and tang :)

These delicious barbecues come in 2 sizes: medium (P380) and large (P580).

The ribs were so good that I just got a piece and gave a big hearty bite! I did not care that the sauce smeared all over my face!

Somebody was being cranky because he wanted to play some more.

These ribs were so good that I did not care. Play all you want so I could eat this in piece.

Oh I am just kidding!

... possibly!

Mati requested to order some chili fries so I requested for some LAVA FRIES (P100). He was just a little disappointed that it was not the chili fries he was thinking of (the one with chili sauce, onions, and lots of cheese). Instead we got some flavored fries with green chilis with a gravy dip. This dish was still very good nonetheless!

While the kids are playing away, us adults will... take photos!

We haven't stayed at Boutique Bed and Breakfast. But when we do, I will make an entry about it. For the meantime, here's us at the entrance. That'll do! Ha ha ha ha!

There's a warm romantic feel to it with the lights and breeze. Just made me thankful for my mini-family even more.

Back at the hotel, I was about to put our leftovers in the fridge when I suddenly got a great whiff of their flavorful fries and gravy...

I know this was supposed to be Mati's food, but hey, FINDER'S KEEPERS!!!

PENANG HILL

(Please be advised that PENANG HILL in Shangri-la Mall is already closed :) )

Last Saturday, my husband Yub was a no show for our usual date night since he was at Lucena. So who's the next best date that a gal could have?? HER SISTER MISTER!!! Ate Jit and I are not only connected by blood but we are the bestest of friends.

Last Saturday, we decided to celebrate our sisterly lovin by making chismisan and kainan. We decided to go for a place we haven't tried before and landed on PENANG HILL. They serve (supposedly) authentic Singaporean dishes that were made "street-hawker" style.

After our meal, we were not disappointed since the food was "kinda good". The price was better though he he he!!! So, a dinner with endless gabbin and saving?? That would be exceptional na for us!!!

Order up at PENANG HILL!

We were the only ones in PENANG HILL at first... Later on these tables would get so crowded!

Selamat Pow!!!

My ever reliable BOTTOMLESS iced tea! I could finish 6 glassfulls of this!!

I saw this plate somewhere... I just can't remember whose account!

PENANG HILL'S Catfish Salad (P196.00)!!!

Yum!!! The sour green mango went very well with the crispy catfish and sweet vinaigrette!

I love chili powder on everything!

Yup! Dashed lots of it even on my salad!!

Me and my utol! :)

Oh stop it I know how many pounds lighter I appear in this pic!

When I eat at a new Singaporean resto, I always make it a point to order the HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE (P190.00 - individual set). Because come on! It's like adobo... If the restaurant can't get this singaporean staple right, then how could their other food be any better??!!!

PENANG HILL'S hainanese rice was sorta dry for my taste but it was very delicious with the chicken!!!

The condiments for the Hainanese Chicken. For an over-all hainanese high experience, generously top your chicken with each condiment!!

Their hainanese chicken is a must-order! Not only was it good, it was also very cheap at less than P200!
Mmmmm... juicy!!!!

PENANG HILL'S Hawker Style Noodles with Braised Pork (P195.00)! Sweet and meaty!

Ate Jit piled a lot of food on her plate that night! Grrr! She never gets fat!

Let's dig in! Yummy yooo!

One proof that we're sisters is that we love to talk... See? Talking and eating!!! ha ha ha!

... she's still eating... and talking... and oblivious to my shots!

... chewing and gulping!

Tee hee!!!

Acting lady like kuno before digging into all that yummy food!

("Yeah alam ko kasi si ganito.. nagkaganoon...")

Open wiiide!!!

Yummy yummy in my tummy!

My sorta empty plate after 2 servings of that glorious food!

We will wipe that out later!

My new favorite vegetable!

"God bless the mister, who comes between me and my sister.... he he he he!"

ALWAYS a good night with my Ate Jit because we never run out of topics to talk, argue, and laugh about. Much better of course because, being the elder lady among us 2 and the one who earns much much more than little ol me, she always treats me!!! BWA HA HA HA HA!!

LET'S EAT!!!
