ITALIANNI'S BGC AGAIN (2020)

Once again we are out and about in BGC on a Saturday, and once again we will be planning to eat at our "flavor of the month," ITALIANNI'S. This time though my big guy joined us because he got "inggit" with how happy we were in last week's lunch with Andrei.

I don't blame him because we really had a lot of great food that time. I'm sure with this family lunch, we'll have another awesome lunch!

And that we did!

MANN HANN (ROBINSON'S GALLERIA)

One weekend, the Yub, Mati, and I went to Robinson's Galleria to buy my Mom's birthday gift that was (unfortunately) not available in the malls near us. We went there extra early and that was a good move because not a lot of shoppers were there.

Come eating time, where to? We let Mati choose first (because he's been very patient while I was going around and checking the plates I got for Mommy). He asked for Samgyupsalamat but when we got there, sushmaryosep, punong puno!

Secretly I was craving for Ramen Nagi but since we've been there for 2 weekends already, I just kept quiet. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

With that we just decided to go around and choose the restaurant that only had a few diners.

And so we came to MANN HANN!

Naku the Yub was overjoyed at favorite restaurant niya to.

It was then Mati and I realized that he was with us and forgot to include him in the decision-making. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Oh well, everything worked in his favor naman. Tee hee.

MANN HANN CAPITOL COMMONS

Once upon a time before the pandemic...

If you're close with my hub, you'd know that he's one of the most simplest man ever and it doesn't take much to make him happy. He's really not for grand celebrations and as long as we're together eating his favorite grub, he'll be super happy.

For his birthday this year, he really didn't want to make a fuss anymore because of that growing pandemic. Still, we thought that we cannot let his birthday pass without giving him even a tiny celebration and we promised to be ultra-careful.

When pushed he said he would like to have some (surprise, surprise) Chinese food. He remembered the last time we went out with Team Godoy how much we enjoyed the food in MANN HANN and asked if we could go there.

OF COURSE! His wish was our command!

We're extra happy too because we LOVED MANN HANN!

Yipee!!!!

GERRY'S GRILL (2020)

Once upon a time before the pandemic....

THE YAPPY BUNCH were with the BP Group for a staycation in Belmont Hotel and since we got out late, we thought of having our lunch there.

Last night's dinner was a disaster (haaay look na lang in the other blogs he he he he) that's why we thought that for lunch, we should go for a restaurant that we have already tried, tested, and enjoyed before. Of course, we also have to consider the price because we are ALL kuripots in the group. BWA HA HA HA HA HA!

In the end, the winner for us was GERRY'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OF BASKETBALL AND CHILI'S!!!

Once upon a time before the pandemic...

The Chinese Panget loved playing basketball (he used to be in their varsity team in high school and college) and would play if time permitted. He cannot do so as much as he wanted now because of work and also, because medyo tanders na sya and his friends, it's difficult to find playmates (ha ha ha ha).

That's why when his Rotary Club (Makati group) invited him to join their team, the Yub gave an immediate yes. He missed the competition and the exercise. At least he won't be pressured too much because the other players will be in same age group. He he he he!

So for one Saturday, THE YAPPY BUNCH joined the Yub's first game to give our noisy support. Afterwards he said we'll have dinner and make a real family night of it.

Yun lang he said that what we eat depends on if he wins or not.

Kekekweng kweeeeng!!!!

It's basketball time!!!!!

MAMMA MIA (UPTOWN MALL BGC)

The Yub and I usually make it a date night for Saturdays but since every night became date night for us when he picks me up from work, we decided that weekends should also involve the little guys as well.

YUN AY KUNG SASAMA SILA!

So for that particular Saturday, the Yub and I were in the mood to be good parents (tee hee) and asked the guys if they want to go out with us.

Mati gave us a firm "No way..." because he already made plans to go out with his lola and tito Jon. The traitor.

As for sweet, innocent, little Andrei, he gave us an eager yes. Oftentimes he loved going with me and the Yub without his Kuya because it made him feel special. At the same time, the night is assured to be "quarrel-free".

So the bunsoy is our date for the night and his "reward" for keeping 2 geezers like us for company is that he'll choose our restaurant for the night.

And my bunsoy's choice?

NIPA HUT

One night, I had a sudden craving for some good old sizzling sisig that when I told my ugly husband, he was like "Sige... Dun tayo sa (ganito) and (ganito)." (Yup. Sisig is already a regular part of our dietary menu.)

MEH. I thought aloud. Why not try something new???

But where? We could try this restaurant and that restaurant but it just didn't appeal to me. Finally, while we were driving home, we passed by an old favorite which had been sitting atop the "mountains of Pasig for many years....

RICO'S LECHON

The Yub and I along with my sister, her hub, and Mommy, checked out something and made it a family day trip at the same time.

Syempre afterwards, we needed to some sustenance. We were supposed to go home to have our lunch but then, we finished late so we all just decided to go somewhere for some serious grubbing...

RICO'S!!!!!!!!!!!

SWIMMING AT VALLE VERDE (SUMMER 2019)

It's finally SUMMER (when I made this blog... he he he), and though the little lords had their vacation later than others (last day of school was on May), we still wanted to do the usual summer activities that would get us hungry and wet!

We could plan an out-of-town getaways however that could be very pricey and time-consuming. That's why we're very thankful to my brother and sister-in-law for treating us to our ever favorite Valle Verde country club for some mean swimming and eating!

Yay!

We're here!!! And yep, even if it's already May, the weather was so VERY hot!

BUBBLES CRISPY PATA RESTAURANT AGAIN (2019)

THE YAPPY BUNCH were in Yub's hometown in Quezon Province and while we're there, we would usually eat in his favorite restaurants.

Yup!

Chicken Crispers could wait.
Fat burgers should just chill.
Dimsums could keep on steaming.
Ramen should simmer for awhile.

We were in Quezon province and we will be eating what they DON'T have in Manila!!!!!

For that weekend however, we were still having Master Mati's birthday celebrations for 2019 that Yub was at the "mercy" of our first born. Lucky for the Yub, our sons have good taste (took after the Mom) that when I asked Master Mati where he wanted to eat that Sunday, he answered with so much conviction you'd think he was the defense team of OJ Simpson: "Let's eat at BUBBLES Mommy. After all, that's where the best crispy pata is!!!!"

I'm sure the Yub was doing the happy dance secretly that I almost wanted to curse him with lbm (tee hee). But that Sunday was about Master Mati and how we wanted to make him happy with our food trips (our weekend plans did not push through because we had to go to Quezon province). So BUBBLES CRISPY PATA AND RESTAURANT it is! Anything to make my big guy happy.

LINGID sa kaniyang kaalaman, BUBBLES made us all happy too. Especially the Yub (he he he he he).

(I still hope kumulo tyan niya because, meh, I get my kicks bullying my husband. Har de har har!!!!)

BUBBLES CRISPY PATA and RESTAURANT!!

BUBBLES was a very popular restaurant in the area that it's always full during lunch and dinner hours. Good thing that my Yub was pogi that while he was talking to the owner on the phone, she agreed to take our reservations.

Did you see the weirdness in my last sentence? He he he he he he!

GERRY'S GRILL AGAIN (NEWPORT)

THE YAPPY BUNCH were having a staycation in Savoy Hotel and we were all having such a grand time, swimming, online surfing, relaxing, etc. that we actually didn't want to leave our rooms. However, our tummy grumbled and we knew that we had to put a temporary stop to our laziness. When thinking where to go, we suddenly craved for some Filipino food because its comforting levels would be like the cherry topping to our lazy cake. He he he he he!

And remembering the first time we were in this area, we went for GERRY'S GRILL because not only was their food delicious, the prices were very affordable as well.

We also can't get enough of their Ginataang Kuhol! Ha ha ha ha ha!

SO! GERRY'S GRILL IT IS!!!!

GERRY'S GRILL!!!!

ITALIANNI'S AND THE BGP IS BACK!!

If you've been following my silly little online journal (ay kawawa ka naman hija!!!) you would know that 2017 was a very hard year for me.

For one, I lost my Dad, so life will never be complete again. Secondly, my Best Gal Pal (or BGP) Mariane discovered she had breast cancer while on a vacation in the US so she stayed there much longer than expected for her treatment.

Imagine expecting your best friend to be gone for only 2 months then learning that you wouldn't see her for more than a year? Ayayay!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a very difficult time for both of us because we cannot be for each other during those painful moments. During my Dad's wake, she was undergoing different examinations for her condition. At times when I wanted to pour out my heart-aches to her (as I would often do), I'd hesitate because I didn't want to burden her further (though she said it was okay). Hay. We may always talk on viber and messenger, but it was not the same and I wished for her return ASAP. I just consoled myself with the fact that it didn't matter how long she stays there as long as she's getting better.

Though it was so hard to be away from each other during that painful time, I guess it just made our bond closer. We may have been thousands of miles away but we still felt each other's love and concern. You may say that it just made our BGP-hood stronger and really eternal. It's indeed proven that we're best friends in good and bad times, no matter the distance.

When she told me that she's finally cancer-free, hay naku! It was such a happy day! We were laughing and crying at the same time. FINALLY!!! Her Dad overhead us talking and he said "Ayan, magkikita na kayo ng best friend mo!" We were like college girls who got so kilig at the thought.

So finally she arrived but not at the date I was expecting: She and her hub Manong Fred didn't tell me that they are actually going home at an earlier date because they wanted to surprise me with the Chinese Dimpol as their accomplice.

But I guess we were such BGP's that malayo pa lang I already saw her!!

LAS CASAS BREAKFAST 2018

It is our second day in the beautiful heritage resort of LAS CASAS FILIPINAS de ACUZAR. And though we were so tempted to snuggle longer in our comfy beds, we would like to get an immediate start on more activities that the place had to offer.

Of course, besides the beach, the pool, and the pool, there's also one more thing we're looking forward to...

BREAKFAST!!!!!

Good morning!!!!!

The last time we were in LAS CASAS, breakfast was in LA BELLA TEODORA. Now, I guess with the volume of guests, we were instructed to go to the function hall behind HOTEL DE ORIENTE.

LOLO CLARO'S RESTAURANT (CAVITE)

Every end of the month, my family and I would visit my Daddy in his hometown in Cavite and pray the rosary for him.

We would usually leave early in the morning so that it'd be a smooth drive to the usually busy roads of Cavite.

When we get there, we would usually listen to some Frank Sinatra tunes and eat our packed lunch. Then we're going to pray.

WILD WEST ROADHOUSE GRILL WITH COLLEGE FRIENDS

My college friends and I had a getogether sometime last year because our favorite FOB was in town (tee hee)....

We would usually have one place in mind when we meet up (helloooo TGIFRIDAYS), but since we were not feeling like going al fresco that night, we went for the next available...

WILD WEST ROADHOUSE GRILL!!!!

Good thing we arrived early so there were available tables for us.

OUR CONTI'S AND EAT BULAGA HOLIDAY

It was a holiday and I thought that since my aunties are about to leave for Las Vegas in a few days, I would treat them to something different....

Watch EAT BULAGA live in Broadway studio!

My Mom and sister haven't seen the show live yet so they joined us. Of course, whenever there's a family gimik, THE YAPPY BUNCH won't be far behind.

Yup. Even the asungot at the back who's covering his face.  He he he!

Syempre since it's my Mom with the family, they'll be at the very front!

BLUE POSTS BOILING CRABS AND SHRIMPS AGAIN

My family had such a great dinner in BLUE POSTS BOILING CRAB AND SHRIMPS that after about a week...

WE ARE BACK AGAIN!

Yup! It was the end of the little lords' exams for the first quarter and as our tradition, we will fetch them from school (their tests run until Saturdays) and then we'll go out to their restaurant of choice. As our tradition warrants, the boys get to pick where their "end-of-the-exams-celebration" will be. And their choice was where they had an awesome time stuffing their faces with...

BLUE POSTS BOILING CRABS AND SHRIMPS!

We went during lunch time and we were able to get a table.

PILITA'S RESTAURANT ( TANZA, CAVITE )

Growing up, I've always had fond memories of PILITA'S RESTAURANT in Cavite City. Besides signifying that we are near my father's hometown (where we loved having our summer vacations in), it also served delicious home-cooked Filipino food that was so satisfying after a long travel.

Now, there are other more popular restaurants that have settled in Cavite city. But for me, it's still going to be PILITA'S when we're in this side of the country. Even if their list of dishes may be simple compared to others, PILITA'S always served up comforting food that make me nostalgic at every spoonful.

Yup! As  long as we're going to my father's house in Cavite, we'll always find a part of our foodie home in PILITA'S!

GERRY'S GRILL (NEWPORT, PASAY CITY)

THE YAPPY BUNCH are with THE BP GROUP for our staycation at BELMONT HOTEL, and since we cannot get separated just yet, we thought of having a late lunch together.

"Where to go?" was the question of the day.

And in searching for delicious food, that is affordable AND will be loved by both kiddies and adults alike, there was only one choice...

GERRY'S GRILL!!!!

YAY!

It's true! I don't know why. You would think that with our group we'd go for something more fashionable and chic, but really, all of just love havin' good ol' comfort Filipino food in GERRY'S!!!

It's where we ate in another staycation that we had! Check that meal HERE!

Now this is starting to be our group's official "after staycation" place!!!!

ANNAM VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT AGAIN!

We were in Eastwood one Friday night and suddenly had a craving for some Pho. With that, we instantly trooped on to ANNAM NOODLE BAR because the Chinese Dimpol and I had fun in our last meal there.

ANNAM!!!

Inside, ANNAM still had that cozy and intimate vibe that you wouldn't normally get in a restaurant that serves the very casual pho.
