BAMBOO CAFE LUNCH - ANVAYA COVE RESORT

THE YAPPY BUNCH were in ANVAYA COVE RESORT with our Bawal Panget Family for the weekend. When we arrived, the little lords were sooooooo raring to swim so the Yub and I prepared everything needed. We saw the others however proceeding to the restaurant to have an early lunch and initially we passed because not only did we just have breakfast, but the boys were so excited already to attack the pool (you know us, everything for the our kids' happiness). Yun lang, when the little lords' learned that their friends were going to eat first, they wanted to eat na din. HAY NAKU!!!!! Nothing peeves me more than dropping something you really, really like just because the others are not doing it. Seriously, it just pisses me off. Anyway so I was not in the mood to be my usual jolly self that lunch and I was controlling my mouth not to say anything rude or offensive (he he he he).

My dangerous irritation however died down when the food arrived all hot and smelling glorious. Like I said, I wasn't hungry, but I heard my tummy give out a curious grumble after getting a whiff of my burger.

Though it was not in our immediate plans, we had a great lunch at BAMBOO CAFE! Then after wiping out all that food, it was straight swimming for hours!!!

See how food makes everything alright???

WEE NAM KEE AND THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE

The little lords were SO excited for a certain movie this year and no, it's not Thor Ragnarok, Power Rangers, or 50 Shades of Blech. It's actually THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE and they were counting the days till its showing.

Why? Because..... (in a gravel voice) it's BATMAN.

So when the movie finally started showing, it was a perfect gimik for our FAMILY VALENTIMES NIGHT. The boys wasted no time too in dragging us to book tickets. We scheduled the movie on a Friday and told the little eager lords that we'll be getting the last full show.

Why last full show??? They whined.

Because we're still going to EAT and THAT is more important. Snacks and drinks in the movie are a-OK. But as our actual dinner in the theater? QUE to the HORROR.

Without missing a beat, the boys agreed to my theory like it was Einstein's law of Relativity. They got me. They really got me. And with that, we hurriedly went around Promenade, Greenhills for a place to eat. That's where we ended up in WEE NAM KEE!

It's been a while since our last meal in WEE NAM KEE but it's one of the restaurants that has always been so "sulit" with me. The price is always affordable and the food delishes -- it's where I first encountered the famous Hainanese Chicken too.

So YAY! We were a happy group that night. We had our ideal FAMILY VALENTIMES DATE with movie, dinner, and...... (in a gravel voice) BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

It was a Friday that time and WEE NAM KEE was full. Good thing we were able to get seats, PRONTO!

MR. UBE (BINONDO FOOD TRIP)

THE KAIN TULOG GANG are on our last stop of our BINONDO FOOD TRIP and even if we originally had about 12 restaurants to try out that day, we had no choice but to halt on the 4th one because our tummies were all going to burst.

Some of THE KAIN TULOG GANG in Binondo!!!!

When we told the organizer of the trip, THE FOOD ALPHABET, that we cannot possibly go on any further, he said not to worry. We only had (technically) one stop left...

OUR BINONDO FOOD TRIP

What is a perfect date for you and your significant other?

Yeah I could understand the attraction of candlelit dinners, walks on the beach, watching a movie while holding hands and making out, but sometimes, you just have to go for something different. Yep! When the candles have been blown off, you've already dusted the sand from your toes, or when the Beast finally lost all of his fur, it's time to do a certain kind of tripping that will make both you and your special sweetie, happy, full, and dandy.

And for me and the Chinese Dimpol, that "time" was a food trip with our KAIN TULOG BUDDIES in BINONDO!!!!!

When we scheduled our BINONDO FOOD TRIP, the Chinese D and I were still celebrating our 1 week Valentimes.

(Yeah... yeah we celebrate our Valentimes for 1 week so that we have more excuses to eat, may reklamo???)

OLD PENANG

Last December 21, 2014, I treated the boys to watch a HI 5 concert as part of Andrei's week-long birthday celebration. AND, as our standard "pre-concert practice", we needed some "fuel" to energize ourselves up before the show. I don't really go to Resorts World often so I was clueless where to eat there. After checking out the restaurants in the vicinity and choosing where to eat, we were shocked when lo and behold, EVERYTHING was jam packed that Sunday! Oh well, I should've expected something like that already especially on a weekend. But my hungry tummy believed that food will always prevail, except of course, in that instance, it won for the other diners.

Blast you RECIPES!!! Why is your chicharon bulaklak so good that you coveted many more customers before me?!!!!

Anywho, the hungry Yub and I walked around like Sisa searching for her lost children. Although we looked nothing like the crazed woman, we still appeared pathetic because we were drooling all over ourselves. Tee Heee!!!!!

So we came upon this restaurant which was a floor above the venue for our HI 5 concert. At first I was hesitant to step inside because although there were available seats, I saw some customers getting impatient with their "delayed" orders. BUT, we didn't have a choice anymore because even our trusty MCDONALD's had lines extending to kingdom come.   So we went inside, settled our bums on their wooden chairs and just hoped for the best.

Of course, upon getting a whiff of the hot and sizzling food beside us, all hesitations vanished. And for that short moment I actually forgot about the show and started looking forward for the grub to come.

Yep! That's what I love about food. It has that magic of making everything alright. PLUS, it smells good, looks good, and tastes good.... even more than my husband!

Tee Hee!

THAT'S what you get for snoring too loud last night!!!!

MALAYSIA EATS (WHAT YUB GRUBBED)

by Eric John Yap

I flew to Malaysia sometime July last year for a bit of work training. It was such a great experience to finally set afoot in my company's Malaysian office and seeing again my batch mates from other countries who also joined the seminar. The days definitely flew by because not only did we learn a lot for my job and enjoyed the views, but I also savored what the country "served" and ate more than what was good for me.

Now for somebody who is such a finicky eater, this was TRULY a feat for Malaysia! Ha ha ha! Everything was just delicious, simple, and highlighting the cuisine of our continent. I loved the food! Wow!

Yes, MALAYSIA is TRULY Asia! Looking forward to bringing the missus here soon with our little boys.

So on to my food experience...
