DELICIOUS TRAYS FROM ALIMANGO HOUSE BY RED CRAB

RED CRAB has always been a long time favorite when it comes to indulging and craving for cooked crustaceans. Of course, we could always go for the cheaper option by ordering in farmers market or dampa, but still, it wouldn't be cooked like the way we have always been drooling over.

I would also always order in RED CRAB whenever our hosts have a craving. As in we would get kilos upon kilos of their ginormous crabs smothered in garlic (their go-to dish when they're in the mood for seafood). With the current pandemic however, our live shows became limited thus RED CRAB became bye-bye.

It was such great news however that ALIMANGO HOUSE by RED CRAB is offering their mouth-watering specialties in food trays that is perfect during this phase where we all have to stay in. They also have new items in the menu that would surely be top of mind when we have a live show again and our hosts have a craving.

So happy were we when ALIMANGO HOUSE by RED CRAB said they'll be treating us to a delicious seafood dinner and to just say when.

Ah... eh... pwede EVERYDAY?!?!?!?!!?

Tee hee... As much I was so compelled to say THAT, the Yub and I just chose to have it on our sons' very special event.

Their first day of school! Ha ha ha ha ha!

So yeah, even if the boys were initially fretting that their vacation is really over, they brightened up at the sight of glistening fatty crabs in the best kind of oil there is.

Me also I'm happy because not only will the love of my lives from home will be able to enjoy the deliciousness of ALIMANGO HOUSE by RED CRAB but I could also order again for work!

Yep! All sides covered. Ha ha ha ha!

Check out our sea-shelly happy meal from ALIMANGO HOUSE by RED CRAB trays and see how to order.

OOH WOW! Now I'm crabby! Ha ha ha ha!

AN UNLIMITED SEAFOOD NIGHT AT DIAMOND HOTEL!!

ERICJAZ FOODIES was recently invited by DIAMOND HOTEL to experience their UNLIMITED seafood every Friday night.

UNLIMITED seafood? Is that even possible??

APPARENTLY with DIAMOND HOTEL, it is! And I'm not talking about the usual meh shrimps or mussels here. You'll actually be faced with bushels (YES BUSHELS) of the special seafood that you'll probably serve to your VIPs(ha ha ha ha)  like rock lobsters, mud crabs, blue crabs, alupihan dagat, garoupa, etc. etc.

Every Fridays for dinner, the CORNICHE restaurant of DIAMOND HOTEL is featuring SEAFOOD ALA MINUTE where for only P2,990.00 nett you could have plates upon plates of seafood cooked your way! Not only that, you could enjoy your unlimited servings of seafood with your usual favorites from DIAMOND HOTEL too (I call the sushi and roast beef!).

So gear up your appetite and get your tummy ready for this fresh from the sea battle. That's what the Yub and I did and we came out mucho victorious! BWA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

MUSEUM AND DAMPA DAY WITH MOMMY

I have been inviting my Mom to have a museum day for soooooo long but she had many things to attend to in the family business that it never pushed through.

Finally for our VALENTIMES SEASON, I declared that we will have our family date in my much-awaited "Museum Day": We will go to the National Museum of Fine Arts in the morning then have a seafood feast for lunch. I was so happy that my Mommers agreed (I guess she knew that I would NEVER stop bugging her) and so we planned that super fun Saturday.

In fact, I got two invites from friends to go out that day, but no can do -- we have a date with my number one lady!!!!

And as expected my Mom had a lot of fun. I was so aching to say "I told you so" with pointy pointy finger but I loved her too much (ha ha ha ha ha ha!)

Hopefully we'll get to plan more Museum outings with her because it's something I know that my "culture-loving" Mom would enjoy. Of course, we also had loads of fun too because it's a refreshing change of our family gimik instead of the usual mall and parks.

So here's our VALENTIMES date with my Mommers when we became all fartsy tartsy and ended with us getting bondat from seafood.

Now THAT is my kind of date!!!!!!

WOHOO!!!!

SHYLIN 1 SEASIDE PALUTO AND DAMPA

I remember when I was younger, my family would go to Dampa paluto restaurants whenever we have balikbayan visitors whom we want to treat to a delicious seafood meal that's hot and fresh. Daddy and Mommy would do all of the shopping while us kiddies would work up an appetite while waiting in the restaurant.

Haaaaaaay! So wonderful memories!

Fast forward to 2018, the Yub and I've been wanting to eat in the DAMPA stretch of restaurants in Manila for soooooo long but we haven't got the guts because we know we don't have the big tummies for it either. The large greasy platters of saucy seafood left a very big impression on our minds that we cannot forget it. You know us, we're so kuripotations and we only want to order what we could finish so we figured that if it's only the 4 of us, our meal there won't be sulit.

But one time, enough was enough. We have waited for sooooo long (emphasis on the soooooo) that we thought, no matter how much our bill would amount to or leftovers we'd have, we'll just take it all home and not go out the next day. The Yub and I have been craving for DAMPA food for as long as we remember that it's time to just GET IT ON.

And that we did!!!!!!

YEHESSSSSSS.......... (cue in Marvin Gaye music).

It's DAMPA TIME!!!!

We finished late checking out museums for our INDEPENDENCE DAY outing that our empty stomachs were growling like hungry hounds.

JOHNNY KAHUKU'S HAWAIIAN SHRIMP HOUSE

After our staycation in BELMONT HOTEL, THE YAPPY BUNCH and TEAM VIRREY decided to have lunch together since we really didn't want our day to end yet.

We were supposed to have Korean at the wish of birthday girl Gem, but when she went ahead because she felt really sick, BB Aning and I checked out the other restaurants to try.

And that is how we ended up in JOHNNY KAHUKU'S HAWAIIAN SHRIMP HOUSE!

I heard about JOHNNY KAHUKU'S from BGP Marian and Manong Fred before. They said the food was good and somehow reminded them of the food trucks in Hawaii.

Good thing we were able to get a table for our group because the restaurant suddenly filled up real fast!

MOMMY'S BLUE POSTS BOILING CRAB AND SHRIMPS BIRTHDAY

When my Mom had her birthday, we delayed her celebration because she wanted to wait for my Daddy's sisters when they arrive from Las Vegas. On the day of their flight, we booked a table at one of our current favorites for my aunts to try....

Syempre because when you love something, you also share it with the people you love.

BLUE POSTS BOILING CRABS AND SHRIMPS AGAIN

My family had such a great dinner in BLUE POSTS BOILING CRAB AND SHRIMPS that after about a week...

WE ARE BACK AGAIN!

Yup! It was the end of the little lords' exams for the first quarter and as our tradition, we will fetch them from school (their tests run until Saturdays) and then we'll go out to their restaurant of choice. As our tradition warrants, the boys get to pick where their "end-of-the-exams-celebration" will be. And their choice was where they had an awesome time stuffing their faces with...

We went during lunch time and we were able to get a table.

BLUE POSTS BOILING CRABS AND SHRIMPS

It was a double celebration for the family so a dinner to mark the momentous events was in order.

First, we were celebrating the birthday of my Ate Jojit's new hubbie Anthony. He wanted to treat the family as his "blow-out".

Second, my lawyer brother was granted a Doctorate for Juridical Science by his college Alma Mater and we were all super proud. So now "The Doctor" also wanted to treat the family.

With that, it was decided to have a joint celebration and since it was indeed a special night, we thought of going to somewhere we've all been meaning to try out for a loooong time....

(Oooh! I was so excited and hungry that they're going be sorry.... este... happy now!!! He he he he he!)

A SUNDAY BOODLE FIGHT!

I am so in love with Boodle Fights these days.

Yup. I am very obsessed right now with this famed Filipino way of eating barbecued and grilled meats that you can't guess how low I could go.

Well for one, I always watch mukbang videos in Youtube now of families eating Boodle fights. One time, I got so into it that I even watched this group of irritating girls eating with their mouths open and talking loudly (you know, the works). But I still beared it because I was so drooling over the food!

That's why when the the Chinese Dimpol was on his way back home from a business trip in Indonesia, I asked my Mom if we could do a Boodle Fight for our Sunday family lunch.|

To think that we always have 2 or 3 grilled entrees for Sunday lunch anyway...
To think that clean-up will be so easy peasy with Boodle Fights...
To think that we are going to do this for her FAVORITE son-in-law... (sorry Anthony!!!)

Yep! We're going to have a Boodle Fight and it's going to be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Sunday family BOODLE FIGHT!!!!!!!

BOODLE FIGHT is the Filipino Military style of eating where food is served on a common long table using banana leaves as cover. There are no utensils nor plates used so you'll be eating with your hands. When in a real BOODLE FIGHT, you get and eat what you can from the pile of food lest your seatmate gets it from you, hence, the (food) fight.

This is fast becoming a popular way of eating Filipino food in homes/restaurants both here and abroad. And I am not surprised why people from all around are attracted to this communal way of eating.

DENNY'S AGAIN!!!

Though it was a sunny Saturday, mornings are still chilly that it's hard to tear myself from the bed.

But of course, the promise of delicious food with THE YAPPY BUNCH is enough to make me forget the comforts of my soft cold bed and go up and at 'em!!!

And what instantly got me alive, alert, awake, and enthusiastic???

LUNCH AT DENNY'S!!!

YEAAAAH!!!

THE YAPPY BUNCH are out for another Saturday family day!

And since they were not with us during the launch, we thought of treating our little lords to DENNY'S!

SLASH'S RESTAURANT (LUCENA CITY)

When we stayed in Lucena for the Undas long weekend, the Chinese Dimpol already plotted the restaurants that we'll eat in for lunch and dinner: PALAISDAAN, CAFE ANTIGUA, BUBBLES, HACIENDA INN, PANSILOG, etc etc. However, when his Mom recommended that we try out the restaurant that's flocked by hungry Lucena diners, it piqued the curiosity of the Chinese D. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but my husband's favorite food in the whole world is Crispy Pata. And when Mama said the new restaurant had superkaduper delicious fried pork knuckles it made him forget that there was ever a list.

So the other candidates that night didn't stand a chance -- the Crispy Pata was the ultimo deciding factor.  And the new winner for our Monday dinner was....

SEAFOOD LUNCH (DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT)

It's our last meal in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH resort and it was the best one yet.

Because this time, we will be having an abundance of seafoods that Dapitan is known for!

LE BAMBOO CAFE in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT!

Seriously, we're not that looking forward to lunch because we had a heavy meal of their delicious breakfast buffet.

But then, the owner of DAKAK passed by our casitas and said we should go to the cafe for the special seafood lunch that they prepared for us.

Now how can you say no to that???

And personally, after I heard the word "seafood", something inside me instantly growled!

NAGUTOM ULI!

We waddled towards LE BAMBOO CAFE, curious with what's going to be served to us.

LE BAMBOO CAFE (DAKAK BEACH RESORT)

My TAPE Inc friends and I were in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT and we all know that we'll have an awesome and unforgettable weekend! However, our flight going to Dipolog via Cebu Pacific was delayed for several hours so needless to say, we were tired AND hungry. When we finally got to the resort, it was very reassuring AND exciting that hot seafood were waiting for us...

... in LE BAMBOO CAFE!!!

LE BAMBOO CAFE is the restaurant in DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT that specializes in seafoods plus more!

The place is vibrant and festive with the bright colors from the banderitas and decors.

A TEXAS ROADHOUSE BIRTHDAY!!!

It was our good friend, Manong Fred's birthday week and THE YAPPY BUNCH decided to treat him and my BGP Marian out for lunch!

And the venue for that Saturday was in TEXAS ROADHOUSE!

TEXAS ROADHOUSE shouldn't be confused with the Philippine restaurant bearing the similar name but with the word "grill" at the end. This one is actually an American franchise that is famous for their ribs!

SEAFOOD SUNDAY BRUNCH AT SPECTRUM, FAIRMONT HOTEL

THE YAPPY BUNCH was invited to try out the SEAFOOD SUNDAY BRUNCH AT SPECTRUM in FAIRMONT HOTEL. And was I excited!!!!!

Sure I'm supposed to be on a diet...
Sure I should be resting because we went home late the previous night....
Sure we were supposed to have lunch with my family on Sundays...

But the promise of EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN oysters, crabs, lobsters, salmons, shrimps, etc. etc etc is enough to make you do a Sandor Clegane aka The Hound in GAME OF THRONES:

F@#$ the diet!
F*@% the rest!
F@#^ the...... ahem... ahem.... Wait, I think I should stop myself there unless I want to be put on the guillotine.

So really, there was nothing to contest. The fresh seafood from SPECTRUM will DEFINITELY win in this round again and again.

And you've got every Sundays until August, 2016 to do that!

For only P2,777.00 nett for adults (50% off for children 6 to 12 years old) indulge in a looooooong spread of the fresh catch of the sea that would get you instantly drooling and craving for more.

Stop your suffering and contact SPECTRUM ASAP!!!!

But for now, check out THE YAPPY BUNCH and the Kain Tulog Gang's glorious Seafood Sunday! And believe me, everything's so good, you'll forget that you'll have to wait for 7 months before Game Of Thrones returns.

Tee Heee!

We are all ready for A LOT of SEAFOOD this brunch time at SPECTRUM!!!!

It was a gloomy Sunday when we made a trip to FAIRMONT MAKATI HOTEL. But we did not let the dark weather dampen our spirits because we were going to have some seafood!

MATAM-IH RESTAURANT (CLARK PAMPANGA)

Whenever THE YAPPY BUNCH are on a trip, we make it a point to try restaurants that are unique to that place only. It doesn't have to be expensive or fine dining. It just HAD to serve the food that the place is known for.

Case in point our recent family/friends getogether in Clark, Angeles, Pampanga City. ERICJAZ FOODIES was again on the prowl on what we could have for Sunday lunch that would make a mark in our foodie list. The Chinese Dimpol then mentioned that he had a deep craving to eat in ALING LUCINGS -- the carinderia that was famous for its sisig. We were all so ready to eat there even if it was just a small eatery by the railroad because it was something the area was known for. But alas, our host dear Janet already served us platters of sisig for dinner the night before that the Chinese Adonis thought that he already reached his "sisig quota".

So with that, we tried out MATAM-IH restaurant, as recommended by our host, dear Janet. I checked google and it received strong raves online proclaiming it to cook unforgettable Filipino food.

And what a great lunch that we all had! Even if it was very hot and even if we were all trying to watch our weight, we were oh so happy with the pig out session in MATAM-IH!!! Really a great choice when you're in Clark, Angeles Pampanga!!!!!

MATAM-IH!!!

MATAM-IH means "delicious" in the Aeta langauage!

The restaurant has an open set-up and did not have any air conditioning. You could just imagine how hot it was that afternoon.

AN EDSA SHANGRILA HOTEL SIT DOWN WEDDING!

On one particularly busy Saturday, ERICJAZ FOODIES was fully booked to a T: Early in the morning we attended the school intrams of the little lords because they will be having a presentation. Afterwards we watched Andrei and his team compete in his grade level basketball. Then at night, we will be attending not one, but two parties.

Would you believe that in the middle of it all, we will also be attending a wedding in EDSA SHANGRILA HOTEL? Yep! And I was lovin' it! Truth be told, I hated attending weddings when I was single. Because not only am I expected to answer the usual MEH question of "When are you getting married?", I fiercely DO NOT like joining the bouquet toss.

Add to that the garter game with the guy? (Homer shudders).

Now that I'm happily married to the man of my dreams (blech), I will never miss a chance to attend a wedding. Besides having the chance to dress up and meet with friends/or family, I love attending events where there is so much happiness in the air. Plus, it's nice to see two people, who are so in to each other, say their vows and party on like the Chinese Adonis and I did many years ago.

Haaaaay....  To be young and in love!

Of course, food is NEVER a factor for us when we attend weddings. Sometimes I even forget about it. ("Huh? There's a buffet? I didn't know!")

Yehessss... To be old, in love, and DELUSIONAL.

Okay fine. Food does that even to the best of us.

:)

We're going to a wedding!

The wedding was in EDSA SHANGRILA BALLROOM and we're relieved that even if we were late, the reception program hasn't started yet.

NIU BY VIKINGS

Last Sunday, THE YAPPY BUNCH went to NIU BY VIKINGS to have our weekend family dinner. Would you believe that it's our first time to eat at NIU even after it has been raved so much about by foodies? I don't know why but of course, we've been meaning to go there several times with my family or with friends, but somehow it wouldn't push through. But that day was finally the day. I guess you could also say that it was such a great coincidence how our first dinner there also fell on Anniversary month of NIU BY VIKINGS.  So yes, it was really meant to be.

You might even say it was "Ang Tamang Panahon."

Tee hee!!!

Sorry, can't help but mention the the current rage of Aldub right now. He he he he he he he!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY NIU BY VIKINGS!

(Pabebe wave).

NIU!!!!

I have heard many great things about NIU as the affordable restaurant that is another level compared to the competition.

Besides constant great reviews from my fellow KTG bloggers, I have a foodie friend (itago natin sa pangalan na Albert) who swears on the enjoyment quotient of NIU over some of the famous hotel buffets!

THE GRILL BOY SPARK PLACE IS OFFICIALLY OPEN!!!!

We recently celebrated the blessing of THE GRILL BOY in Spark Place and it also marked the official opening of this new ERICJAZ FOODIES favorite!

You might doubt our love for THE GRILL BOY since we always profess our fanaticism over a new restaurant.  But if I tell you that the Chinese Adonis left his line for the confession booth that morning just so that he'd be on time for THE GRILL BOY favorites, then would you believe me?

As much as I want to say that I am exaggerating, unfortunately, I'm not. You cannot really make up these types of things.

Oh and just in case you're shocked at how much we'll go far for food, don't worry, the Chinese Adonis promised to go to confession next day at church. Ha ha ha ha ha!

But still, that impulse move gives you a very clear picture of how much we love the delicious food of THE GRILL BOY that we don't care if we commit a sin.... a dietary sin that is. Because whenever we're at THE GRILL BOY, we are indulging and pigging out more than we should. And the great thing is, we're not sorry at all! It is just THAT awesome for us!

Congratulations to Richie of THE PICKIEST EATER and Rina of RINA'S RAINBOW!!! You have OFFICIALLY hooked us again to THE GRILL BOY!

MUSEUM CAFE (SUNDAY BOUTIQUE BRUNCH)

The Chinese Adonis and I promised ourselves that we could do all that we want for the whole week but come Sunday, THE YAPPY BUNCH should ALWAYS be together. Of course, we are in each others company already for 7 days but we will stress on it more on Sundays with mass, breakfast, and lunch.  You could say the reason why we are doing this is to program the little lords that Sunday is their day with Mommy and Daddy. So that when they grow up and get all cool to be the "folks", they would still go with us on family day Sundays.

I don't care if they got home late the previous night...
I don't care if they have a hot date that morning...
I don't care if they have a barkada getaway....

Sunday is OUR day. So they better get used to it.

With that, I'm so glad that there are restaurants like MUSEUM CAFE that is perfect for our after-mass meal. The place is chic and located nearby in Greenbelt. Plus, they are serving brunch that is fitting for our special family day Sunday. We all enjoyed our time there!

Moments like these make me cherish every second with my little lords. I know time goes by so fast (like EAT BULAGA hammering SHOWTIME with #ALDUB (HA!)) that before we know it, they'll be out with their girls or their friends more than us. That's why hopefully, the neverending time we spend with them will make a strong mark so that they'll keep our Family Sundays sacred.

Of course, given the choice, we'd still like to be with them every single day.

But should the time comes where they could only spare one day for us, we know that it would always be on Sundays.

And yes it would DEFINITELY still be more than enough for us! :)

MUSEUM CAFE!

MUSEUM CAFE is located right across AYALA MUSEUM.

Isn't that the perfect place to go after pigging yourselves out with delicious food?
