BULALO POINT (TAGAYTAY CITY)

THE YAPPY BUNCH have been to TAGAYTAY many times already but I just realized that we would eat many things EXCEPT for Yub's favorite -- BULALO.

It's not really because we have this hidden hatred for him (tee hee...) but more because when we eat out we're always on a budget and a big bowl of bulalo is usually priced at about P500.00. Add to that, our little boys don't like bulalo so much and would always get Pizza or Carbonara.

KAYA SORRY KA NA LANG YUB. BWA HA HA HA HA!!!!

Fast forward to 2019 where the little boys are older with bigger appetites. We went to TAGAYTAY for a family weekend in ANYA and when deciding where to eat, the Yub put his foot down and said that we'll be eating BULALO.

We were all like, "Chill grandpa... ", and agreed. He he he. Truth be told, Mati and I were actually very curious to try out this restaurant recently raved about by our favorite vlogger Strictly Dumpling, that BULALO was actually on the itinerary that weekend.

So yeah, dreams finally came true (especially for one panget) and we're happy that our first experience with BULALO as a family was a success.

Would love to go back to BULALO POINT again!!!!!!!

Tapos hindi kasama si Yub...

BWA HA HA HA HA! Kiddingsssss!

BALAY DAKO (TAGAYTAY)

THE YAPPY BUNCH went to Tagaytay recently and while planning our itinerary, the Yub insisted that we try this restaurant...

BALAY DAKO!!!

I agreed quietly with him and aired my concerns about how the restaurant was ALWAYS full. In truth, I was SO eager to try BALAY DAKO but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of being the one who made the right choice.

Teee Hee! Yes I'm evil I know.

ANYA RESORT TAGAYTAY (PART TWO)

THE YAPPY BUNCH is having a "family only" getaway in Tagaytay and the "unfortunate" hotel (he he he he) to experience our ruckus that weekend was ANYA RESORT.

ANYA went to infinity and beyond with regards to our expectations mostly because of the cool facilities, and the room (because it was larger than the usual De Luxe suite).

The hotel service too was NUMERO UNO -- it's like they cannot say no to any of our requests and our weirdness with the pictures. Come to think of it, I'm sure ANYA RESORT wouldn't mind so much if we'd be our usual crazy selves because everyone's just so nice and welcoming. We really felt like we were home (or VIP members of a clubhouse for that matter).

Yep. The reviews are real, and here's another rave to add to it. We really had an awesome weekend at ANYA RESORT and would love to return once budget permits. This would be another resort I wouldn't mind saving for again.

Sharing with you all part TWO of our ANYA RESORT TAGAYTAY weekend.

ENJOYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

After a relaxing and blissful Saturday, we all set out for dinner.

ANYA RESORT TAGAYTAY (PART ONE)

Summer was about to end and I thought that it's high time for THE YAPPY BUNCH to have our own family getaway.

Don't get me wrong, going on trips with our family and close friends are fun, but it's a different kind of bonding when it's just the 4 of us. The Yub and I agreed that with our very busy times these days, it's something that we should really do with the kids on a regular basis.

Now where to go????

The Yub and I have been hearing rave reviews about ANYA RESORT in Tagaytay from my sister and a friend. I checked it out and yep, it really did look nice. However, everytime I looked at their weekend rates, inangkupush... P14,000.00 for one night? I'm all for indulging once in a while but I somehow can't stomach P14,000.000 (ha ha ha especially that I'll be paying for the hotel while the Yub will take care of the restos). Sorry, I'm just being honest. Ha ha ha ha ha! Ang dami ko nang magagawa for P14,000.00 (like get hair implants on my big noo).

Then one night, lo and behold I saw that for one weekend, the rate for their Junior Suite Twin was only about P9,000.00! Yipeee! How meant to be for us! We immediately booked and made our plans on where to go to Tagaytay.

And how was our weekend?

It was SUPER fun. I think it's our best weekend for the summer!!!! Of course, all getaways with the family are the best, but for that trip, ANYA RESORT made a very big contribution!

:P

We're going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship.....

TO THE SOUTH!

PINK SISTERS AND JOSEPHINE RESTAURANT (TAGAYTAY CITY)

My Las Vegas Aunties (Daddy's sisters) recently had a vacation with us and one of their wishes was to go to Pink Sisters and offer prayers for my Daddy.

Since we have Daddy's sisters with us, we also thought of inviting Mom's sisters and make it a fun family outing!

MARIANNE AND RAM'S WEDDING - TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS

We were in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS to attend the wedding of Ram to Marianne, the daughter of my officemate/friend, Tita Florie! We were really going to travel to Tagaytay that Sunday to attend the blessed celebration but, my dear friend amped up her generous level once more and treated us to a whole weekend staycation as her birthday gift to me.

YOWZAAA!!!!!!

So after an AWESOME overnight stay at TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS, we scrubbed ourselves and dressed up to attend the wedding of 2 people who are so in love with each other that they literally traveled thousands and thousands of miles to share that to mankind. And of course, I was also very happy for my friend Tita Flory for being blessed with a daughter who will be having her own "happily ever after." Aba! That's a big deal for a parent right??? To know that your daughter is extremely happy and will be taken cared for, for the rest of her life is DEFINITELY every Mom's joy!!

Now let's bask in a night filled with happiness, love, joy, laughs, and of course, DELICIOUS FOOD, in this TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS WEDDING!!!!

Congratulations Ram and Marianne!!!!!!

THE YAPPY BUNCH are all suited up for this TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS WEDDING!

When we arrived in the venue for the wedding ceremony, I immediately fell in love with the lovely set up of silver chairs, elegant flowers, and soft colors around. This is like something we see in an American movie!

Of course, it helps that you got this picturesque view of some volcano as backdrop!

THE HIGHLANDER STEAKHOUSE (TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS)

THE YAPPY BUNCH were having the most "awesomest", "bestest", "funnest", and..... GREATEST (oops now that's a real word.. he he he he!) time at my birthday staycation treat in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS!

Yes! We had so much fun that redundancy and word invention was in order (well except for "greatest").

So we had an awesome Saturday and we were having uber fun on Sunday. But then we got this GREAT offer by Tita Flory (my officemate who generously gifted us with this birthday staycation) to have lunch in HIGHLANDER STEAKHOUSE, her treat!!!!!

At first I was hesitant because she had given so much already to my family. But she insisted saying how her family had such a delicious dinner the night before. With that we gratefully agreed and happily trooped over to THE HIGHLANDER STEAKHOUSE.

Oh wow! Steak is just "perfectest" every time!!!!!!!

Tee hee!

THE HIGHLANDER STEAKHOUSE!!!!

Even if we had been going around TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS the whole morning, we were still pretty full from the buffet breakfast at THE GOLFER'S LOUNGE. Still, we were so curious as to how the much raved about steakhouse in Tagaytay fared that we'll try just a wee bit of its dishes!

THE GOLFER'S LOUNGE BREAKFAST (TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS)

THE YAPPY BUNCH were in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS and after a night of eating, chatting, and listening to soulful renditions of "Boulevard", we woke up to a hot and delicious buffet breakfast!

TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS GOLFER'S LOUNGE

While we were in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS to attend a wedding of my officemate's daughter and to have a birthday staycation, we had dinner in their Country Club with some of my TAPE Inc. friends.

Me in a table cloth, Mam Zeny, Tita Josie, and Tita Flory (the mother of the bride AND the fairy godmother of my birthday staycation!!)

Dinner that night was in the TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS GOLFER'S LOUNGE courtesy (again) of Tita Flory. Her treat for the bridal party!

TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS - THE COUNTRY CLUB

When I got word that my officemate, Tita Flory, will be treating us for an overnight staycation in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS for my boithday AND for the wedding of her daughter, I knew that major research was in order.

Of course, I should check out the location, the resort facilities, the rooms, and the activities offered in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS. But more importantly, I should also study AND investigate the places where  we could eat there.

He he he he he! OF COURSE! Food is ALWAYS of the essence to us!

At first I really thought that TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS was a resort with one cafe or restaurant by the poolside. In turns out, this popular "membership only" destination in TAGAYTAY was like an exclusive community where there are a LOT of places to eat in and many clubhouses!

Yowza! This is like a staycation jackpot!!!!!

So after surfing online, I tried my best to plot which places to go to when get there. But even after numerous hours, of studying, researching, and investing, there were a LOT of choices that I cannot make up my mind. With that, one question still remained for us when we finally got to TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS....

Where shall we eat????

TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS STAYCATION (PART TWO)

THE YAPPY BUNCH were in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS to attend the wedding of the daughter of my officemate, Tita Flory. At the same time, she treated my little family to a full weekend of fun (and cold weather) as her birthday gift to me!

Yey! Generosity and "galantry" rules!!!!! He he he he he he!

So it's our second day at TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS and we are still as excited as ever. If we spend Sunday even with just half the enjoyment that we had the day before, we would still be so happy.

And you know, at the rate that we're going and the hype that we're feeling, anything is possible! Yup! Especially that we're in a place where there are a gazillion and more things to do at somewhere called....

TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS!

Here's our day two!

GOOD MORNING!!!

Wow! It's not everyday that we're greeted with the 8th Wonder of the World before brushing our teeth!

TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS STAYCATION (PART ONE)

It was my birthday weekend sometime last February and usually THE YAPPY BUNCH would go somewhere for a fun getaway to celebrate. However, it was also timely that the wedding of my officemate's daughter fell on that Sunday in Tagaytay. So all plans of going to Baguio, Subic, or Albuquerque (he he he he), were cancelled. Of course, I was happy to attend the wedding (I LOVE WEDDINGS!), it's just that we would have to leave our little wawa boys behind.

But then, my officemate Tita Flory, loved me so much (well I AM very lovable I know) and said that since she will be booking rooms for some of her close friends and family in Tagaytay, she will treat our little family for what was supposed to be my birthday weekend. At first I was concerned that it would be too much for her and how the little lords may inconveniently add more for her head count. The Chinese Adonis and I were really going to attend even if it's just the two of us. But she really insisted and said that everything and everyone was taken cared for.

So YEY!!!!! My birthday weekend was set and guess where Tita Flory graciously and generously treated THE YAPPY BUNCH?

MORIELLI'S (TAGAYTAY CITY)

After my friends and I checked out from Hotel Kimberly in Tagaytay for my pre-birthday celebration, we headed out to MORIELLI'S for our late lunch. I haven't eaten there but my pogi bud Jonahs used to frequent the place so he strongly recommended to have our going home meal there.

MORIELLI'S!!!!

Hopefully they could make bigger signs than these. We almost missed it!

Mishoo Camp Campo!

If MORIELLI'S would get standees of our hottie likeness then I'm sure there would a rampage of traffic instantly.

 Tee hee!

If you think that MORIELLI'S is an Italian restaurant, think again! It is actually a combination of the name of the owner's parents Moriet and Gely! These two have been insanely in love ever since their high school days and there's no stopping them now. Some may doubt eternal bliss in love but this is the real deal! And believe it or not, I felt the warmth of what they had for each other in the vibe of the place!

Not for long though. Because somebody from our group is reeking weirdness.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

RESTAURANT VERBENA (MY 2015 BIRTHDAY)

One of my 40th birthday celebrations was a weekend in Tagaytay City with my BP Group, a special set of friends whom I already consider as "family". And since it was my birthday, I get to choose where to have dinner that night (HA!!! Such power!!!).

I thought of going for RESTAURANT VERBENA of COUNTRY SUITES DISCOVERY TAGAYTAY since we enjoyed our evening there the last time.  Of course, besides the restaurant, I also requested everyone to dress up to make the night extra special. Don't worry. Dressing up is something my BP Group is fond of doing so that we'll look good in pictures (our first love. Ha ha ha ha ha!)

Now even if my friend Jonahs has already resigned as Country Suite's Resident Manager, his former staff still raved at his "visit" and really made sure that we will be fussed over during my birthday dinner. And WOW! We were spoiled the Country Suites way and our tummies were so happy from all the delicious food! Add to that, our non-stop chatter AND pictures all throughout the night!

What an awesome pre-birthday dinner! I wish I could turn 40 everyday! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

RESTAURANT VERBENA!

Yup! The award winning and must-visit restaurant in Tagaytay City!

Country Suite by Discovery is a quaint and cozy hotel that has less than 10 rooms to ensure peace, quiet, and privacy.

HOTEL KIMBERLY DAY TWO (MY 2015 BIRTHDAY)

My friends and I are having an early birthday celebration for me in HOTEL KIMBERLY and we already had loads of fun the night before.

ERICJAZ FOODIES with the little lords in HOTEL KIMBERLY!

Of course, even if it was already our second time in HOTEL KIMBERLY, we still  wanted to use their recreational facilities TO THE EXTREME. With that, we woke up early to get a head start on everything!

Good morning from THE YAPPY BUNCH in HOTEL KIMBERLY!

Andrei here looks dazed and confused. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

It turns out my friends Gem and Jojie woke up much earlier and jogged around the vast gardens of HOTEL KIMBERLY.

What gives mareng Gem and Jojie??? You're making us all look lazy...

Which we are really! He he he he he!

HOTEL KIMBERLY DAY ONE (MY 2015 BIRTHDAY)

Not to sound too whiny or anything but I am writing this with so much pain in my butt. My lower back to be exact! I know you don't need to know that but I just want to remember how I got severe back pains due to locked muscles from saving the world.

Okay fine I went somewhere where a lot of walking was required and due to my lack of exercise, my butt went "WHUUUUUTTT?" and locked itself as defense mechanism. Ha ha ha ha ha! Oh well. That goes on to show that too much physical activity is NEVER good.

So. There.

Anyway, I'm braving these jabbing pains to do an entry on my silly little foodie blog because it's been quite a long time already. I don't know about you but I miss writing down my useless memories and sharing them. And upon learning that next in line was my birthday staycation in HOTEL KIMBERLY in Tagaytay City, I knew I should learn how to blog while lying down on my bed. Yep there's a first time for everyone who loves something enough. He he he he he he!!!!

My BP Group and I have already stayed in HOTEL KIMBERLY in 2013 and we declared that it's our favorite family hotel in Tagaytay City. It may not give you an instant view of the famous volcano but the many amenities and activities for the family make up for it.

So naturally for my 40th birthday when we were deciding where to have our out of town BP family getaway, the unanimous decision was HOTEL KIMBERLY. Yes there may be other more exclusive hotels that would promise a posher and closer experience with the beauty of Tagaytay. But from the laughter and enjoyment that the kids and  my BP GROUP had during that weekend, we know that we all made the right choice.  I certainly had a more unforgettable out of town birthday staycation!

And, we had HOTEL KIMBERLY to thank for it!

HOTEL KIMBERLY!

We were able to check in easy peasy and with rooms close together.

I really wanted to settle into our rooms pronto but the kiddies had something else in mind!

The kids loved HOTEL KIMBERLY's big playground that immediately after check in, they ran here!!!!

BAG OF BEANS (BIRTHDAY WEEKEND)

When we went to Tagaytay City for my 40TH BIRTHDAY WEEKEND, my BP group and I had brunch in one of my most favorite restaurants in the area.....

Whenever we're in the land of Taal Volcano, I would always crave to have a meal in BAG OF BEANS or even just a snack because you could never go wrong with their menu.

Everything is just dang good!

As much as I love BAG OF BEANS their main branch would always have VERY slow service. I remember eating here once and got served my order after an hour!!!

I noticed that this is an all-new BAG OF BEANS where they renovated the whole look of the place!

Now, they have a more chic design and plenty of rooms for you to book your hungry group!!

MY 40TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS!

EGAD it finally happened.

I turned 40!

Confusing right? I know, I know, that I don't look a day over 20 years old but that's the truth. And if many do not believe it, I would still have to face that I....

... am older than Annie in WHEN HARRY MET SALLY.

... am older than Rachel in FRIENDS.

.... am older than the 4 geezers in SEX AND THE CITY.

... am older than Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC!!!!!!

Egad I'm old!

Anywho, the best thing with my age though is that now I am surrounded with more people whom I love and vise versa (I think/hope) than when I was younger. Believe me that I had so much fun with my two week (and more) birthday gimmicks that I almost had a heart attack plus bout of rheumatism!

Kidding aside, I know I may have put off making this blog entry for quite sometime because there were just too many to post and write about. And of course I'm sure you know that this old lady is quite lazy! But reviewing the pictures and reminiscing on the laughter, food, and love at turning a year older just made me feel so overwhelmed with all the blessings that I would (many times) take for granted.

Like I said many times during my two week (and more) birthday celebrations, turning 40 is not so bad after all if your days are filled with eating, smiling, hugging, and LOVING.

Of course, it doesn't hurt too if you got the best family and friends to do it with!

I AM NOW OLDER THAN SHARON IN THOSE SHARON-GABBY MOVIES would you believe??????

Sorry I can't move on.

:P

Presenting my birthday celebrations!!!!

For my first BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION, I asked my BP Group for an out of town staycation in Tagaytay City.

The drive may not be so long but there was already a bit of traffic.  Good thing my husband downloaded MAP FACTOR and it was able to show us some detours to avoid the jams.

Do try it out! It's free and you could use it without internet!

When we have an out of town drive, I always stay at the back with little Andrei. We kept ourselves occupied by watching some DOWNTON ABBEY! My favorite at that time!

While watching, we snacked on some biscuits plus ice cold juice and chocolait!

And we're here in Tagaytay!

The first meal to kick off my early birthday weekend was in BAG OF BEANS!

Whenever you're in Tagaytay, you should always make a pit stop here for their delicious food and take home pastries!
