BAMBOO CAFE DINNER - ANVAYA RESORT

It was a whole day swimming for THE YAPPY BUNCH in our first day in ANVAYA COVE. So because we worked our cutie butts off in the water from morning till night, we certainly worked up an appetite come dinner time!

THE YAPPY BUNCH were in ANVAYA COVE RESORT with our Bawal Panget Family for the weekend. When we arrived, the little lords were sooooooo raring to swim so the Yub and I prepared everything needed. We saw the others however proceeding to the restaurant to have an early lunch and initially we passed because not only did we just have breakfast, but the boys were so excited already to attack the pool (you know us, everything for the our kids' happiness). Yun lang, when the little lords' learned that their friends were going to eat first, they wanted to eat na din. HAY NAKU!!!!! Nothing peeves me more than dropping something you really, really like just because the others are not doing it. Seriously, it just pisses me off. Anyway so I was not in the mood to be my usual jolly self that lunch and I was controlling my mouth not to say anything rude or offensive (he he he he).

My dangerous irritation however died down when the food arrived all hot and smelling glorious. Like I said, I wasn't hungry, but I heard my tummy give out a curious grumble after getting a whiff of my burger.

Though it was not in our immediate plans, we had a great lunch at BAMBOO CAFE! Then after wiping out all that food, it was straight swimming for hours!!!

ANVAYA COVE STAYCATION 2018 - DAY TWO

THE YAPPY BUNCH were in ANVAYA COVE for the first time and having a great family weekend bonding under the sun. What made it extra fun too was that we were with our BP or Bawal Panget family (tee hee) so it became more of a riot.

And you know us, the crazier, the better!!!!

ANVAYA STAYCATION 2018 - DAY ONE

Summer vacation is not complete without a trip to the beach. No matter how much we'll darken up or look bondat in our swimsuits, going to a resort is already tradition (he he he he he). That's why I'm so thankful that for this school break, we were able to have a family trip to the beach.  The best thing too is that we're celebrating the birthday of a dear friend in a resort that we've long wanted to stay in.....

FLOSSOM AGAIN FOR ATE'S BIRTHDAY

My sister recently celebrated her birthday and as a treat, I invited her out for dinner as part of my birthday gift. When I asked for suggestions, she gave me the usual places in Powerplant Mall and Greenhills. I thought, why not someplace where we she hasn't been to? And with that, I recommended FLOSSOM KITCHEN + CAFE because my friends loved the food when I celebrated my birthday there, and my family also enjoyed the dishes when I treated them last summer.

My sister agreed and as expected, she and her husband savored our meal that night. I'm glad that we were able to go out  and had a bonding couples night to celebrate her birthday. It was just yesterday when we were snotty little kids daydreaming about going out with our prince charmings.

And then.... kekwekweeeeeeng!

THE YAPPY BUNCH were with my family and aunties for a weekend in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar and going home, we thought of having a quick bite for lunch. We passed by many restaurants but for some reason, I think the Filipino population went to all the popular tourist establishments that we cannot squeeze ourselves in (yes, kahit na gano pa ako kaganda! :P). In the end, since we were all tired and hungry na din, we just went for the familiar and 100% "fosho" scale of serving delicious Filipino food...

A MEXICAN FOOD FESTIVAL IN DIAMOND HOTEL!

ERICJAZ FOODIES were invited for dinner one stormy weekend in DIAMOND HOTEL to try out their MEXICAN FOOD FESTIVAL at their CORNICHE RESTAURANT and we were excited.

Yep! Like Speedy-Gonzales-on-steroids-partying-like-there's-tomorrow-on-an-endless-Cinco-de-Mayo, excited! He he he he!

I don't normally accept invites these days but the thought of having Mexican food and my other favorites from CORNICHE, plus seeing the Kain Tulog Gang is enough to make me get braver in tackling a possible "carmageddon" ahead. Hopefully though, we won't get stuck at anything that would force us to cancel.

And by some sort of miracle, everything did work out! I was able to get out of work early and it was a smooth, traffic-free ride from Quezon City to Roxas Boulevard. Would you believe it only took us an hour? Yep! As waze predicted!

As expected, it was a festive and fun night! It was great seeing our foodie family and our tummies were thankful for all the colorful and tasty Mexican dishes served in the buffet of CORNICHE RESTAURANT. We were glad to join this fiesta.

PARADISE DYNASTY AGAIN

THE YAPPY BUNCH are going to a beach getaway with some friends one weekend that we decided to give ourselves a little Despidida Party with our family.

Ah eh.... So anyway we invited my family and our aunts and treated them to the restaurant where we recently had dinner and loved...

As expected, PARADISE DYNASTY was full that Friday. Good thing we made reservations because we know how popular this restaurant is.

LAS CASAS BREAKFAST 2018

It is our second day in the beautiful heritage resort of LAS CASAS FILIPINAS de ACUZAR. And though we were so tempted to snuggle longer in our comfy beds, we would like to get an immediate start on more activities that the place had to offer.

Of course, besides the beach, the pool, and the pool, there's also one more thing we're looking forward to...

The last time we were in LAS CASAS, breakfast was in LA BELLA TEODORA. Now, I guess with the volume of guests, we were instructed to go to the function hall behind HOTEL DE ORIENTE.

THE YAPPY BUNCH were with my family and aunties for a weekend in LAS CASAS FILIPINAS DE ACUZAR last summer. The weather was quite unpredictable on Saturday as the sun and rain alternated in their "performances" (he he he he). Nevertheless, we were all still able to appreciate the beauty of this heritage resort in our own way and we were so looking forward to our day 2!

LAS CASAS DINNER 2018 ( LA BELLA TEODORA )

My family and aunts were in LAS CASAS FILIPINAS DE ACUZAR for our family summer trip and when deciding where to eat, the only restaurant that came up was LA BELLA TEODORA.

THE YAPPY BUNCH already had dinner here before in our last trip in LAS CASAS, and remembered how much we loved the food. The dishes are on the pricey side though but I guess the overall experience added on the expense. He he he he!

So I suggested LA BELLA TEODORA and my family agreed. I made reservations and hoped that they would enjoy the food as much as my little family did before (otherwise, they'll wring my cute neck).

In the end, our dinner in LA BELLA TEODORA made it a wonderful night LAS CASAS. Not just the food but also the service, the atmosphere, and the music. Yes the music.

BALSA TOUR ( LAS CASAS TRIP 2018 )

When we had our LAS CASAS FILIPINAS DE ACUZAR trip before, we thought we did all of the important activities based on the fun that our family had. When we returned last summer, we discovered that the heritage resort was now offering a bamboo raft or "balsa" tour around the watery parts of the area.

Woah!!!! We didn't know that!!!!

After having the Heritage Tour in LAS CASAS on our second trip, I was looking forward to going back to the room and just relaxing my tired and smelly feet. However my bunsoy Andrei overheard my sister and husband talking about their plans of trying out the Balsa Tour and immediately invited the Yub and I to go with him.

"Egad we're so lazy!!!!!" The Yub and I chimed. So the bunsoy just asked if he could join his Tita and we agreed.

The tickets were priced at P300.00 each (P200.00 if you're a big group) and while the bunsoy Andrei was signing up, I suddenly had a change of heart. This was something that meant so much to my baby bubuy and I don't know when I'll have another chance of doing this with him again.

With that, I informed the lady to sign me up for the ride as well and my bunsoy was overjoyed. We asked again the Yubhub if he wanted to go with us and he gave us a strong no as he preferred to sleep instead.

Me: "Grabe Yub! Gusto to ni Andrei tapos di mo siya pagbibigyan? When ba uli mangyayari to? Kelan ba uli tayo babalik sa Las Casas? Memorable event to para sa anak natin na hindi natin magagawa araw araw tapos...."

Yub: "Ako na lang magbabayad ng pangboat nyo."

Me: "Ah okay! Thanks Yub for everything! You're such a great dad!!! See you later! Rest ka na ha?? Mwah mwah! LAB YU!!!!!"

And all is well again. Tee Hee!!!!

LAS CASAS TRIP WITH FAMILY P1 (2018)

Last summer, my family planned a weekend getaway that got us so excited and sentimental at the same time. For one, it was trip with in the beautiful LAS CASAS FILIPINAS DE ACUZAR, one of the top Philippine spots that would take you back to old Manila. Another is that besides THE YAPPY BUNCH, we're going to have my Mom, her sisters, Dad's sister, and my siblings (except for my eldest Kuya), join us. It's been such a looooooong time since we had a family trip that we were all counting the days to this weekend.

The only bittersweet aspect with this getaway was that Daddyowzers, our original chief planner and leader, was not physically with us. However, we did make sure that this weekend will be in my Daddy's honor since he's the one who always pushed for family trips and togetherness (in fact, our trip was somehow "sponsored" by him... he he he he). "Basta siya, dapat ang pamilya laging magkakasama", and we will never forget that. Great thing too that he raised a family who enjoyed the company of each other.

So we're all off to LAS CASAS FILIPINAS DE ACUZAR for another unforgettable weekend. The place is awesome and we'll be with our favorite people....

GREEN PASTURES AGAIN

The last time the Chinese Panget and I were in GREEN PASTURES in Shangrila Mall was when I treated the mareng Gail for her birthday about 3 years ago. The food was delish and we had no qualms in coming back. However, we don't go to Shangrila Mall as much as we used to because of the traffic situation and there were other venues closer to our house.

Fast forward to a night last summer when Team Campo, Pogi CEO couple, and ERICJAZ FOODIES were planning where to meet for our Thursday dinner. After much deliberation, we ended up in GREEN PASTURES, well mostly because the POGI CEO was going to give us our pasalubongs from Japan and we were at his mercy. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Mahal pa naman sa GREEN PASTURES! Che!

Seriously though, it was a great choice for our couples night getogether -- the food was delicious and the place had a nice vibe to it.  We already know that it was going to be a fun meet-up because we could chat about anything non-stop. But if you put great food (healthy one at that) in the equation then it will surely be an awesome and successful night.

Successful kasi we got pasalubongs!! Yay!

Now I want to go back here. He he he he he!

FUN AT ENCHANTED KINGDOM (2018)

It's been awhile since THE YAPPY BUNCH went to ENCHANTED KINGDOM (I think the last time we went there was when my nephew Chuckie had a vacation here). That's why when thinking of what to do one weekend, we thought of going to "the happiest place on the Philippines" located in Laguna. We actually planned to go first thing in the morning para "sulit" but since we had brunch in Flavors, Holiday Inn Manila, we were able to drive out after lunch.

Yup! In the peak of the afternoon! Ack!

But did that stop us from having loads of fun?

Hell, NO!

We're back in ENCHANTED KINGDOM!!!!!

It was REALLY, REALLY hot! (Yup! To the point that I wore a jacket so that my pristine skin won't get burned... He he he he). But still when we got there, our eyes were all agog with what we should do first. 

SCHMIDT'S HOTDOGS AND AVENGER'S THE 3RD TIME

I think I have mentioned before how the Chinese Dimpol and I have a "schedule" that we follow with regards to our so-called social life: Friday is with friends, Saturday is date night, and Sunday is for family. Of course, we don't really follow that schedule to a T (depends on availability also), sometimes we go out with the little lords on Friday, sometimes we go out with friends on Saturday, then many times, the Yub and I would have date night during weekdays because he picks me up from work. When the little kiddies were younger we didn't go out on weekdays since they would always wait up for us before going to sleep. Now, since they're so concerned about waking up early for school, they're already in bed by 7:30pm-8:00pm -- the time when I'm only about to leave work. With that, the Yub and I are able to go out more on weekdays because the little ones do their homework, eat dinner, and sleep early without waiting up for us anymore.

You could say it's like YEHEEYYY! PARTY! PARTY! TUGS! TUGS! for us now since they're older. He he he he he!

Anywho, one Friday the kiddies deserted us, our friends blocked us on Facebok (hi hi hi hi), while our family  removed us from their inheritance. So that meant it was only the Yub and I that Friday for our date!

And the Chinese Dimpol and I went to new SANTOLAN TOWN PLAZA by Rockwell!!!

The mall was fairly new and had many unopened stores. 

But these 2 food trucks caught  my eye.
