It's our annual KAIN TULOG GANG summer getogether and we are going to Antipolo for a day that's sure to be jampacked with hungry people and FOOD!!!!

KAT'S CAFE (AGAIN)

It's very rare that I'm at the Super South Side of the Metro since I'm so lazy from moving anywhere outside my comfort zone. But when me and some friends were invited to have dinner at ACACIA HOTEL, I thought, there was no other destined time for me to hit 2 birds with 1 stone by also checking out my new cupcake favorite, KAT'S CAFE.

I first encountered the creamy goodness of KAT'S CAFE, when we were given boxes upon boxes during our epic staycation in B HOTEL. Now several months have passed and even if I have already tasted other cupcake variants from this, this, and oh this, I was still craving for the very moist and fluffy deliciousness that only KAT'S CAFE cupcakes could give.

And so with that, I reached into my dark side and convinced my flabbiness that even if I already had dessert and coffee at ACACIA HOTEL, my life needed more of the sweetness of KAT'S CAFE. I then contacted Kathi of Mucking Around Manila to say that we'll be somewhere near her place and asked if she wanted to meet up. Turns out, she too was hankering for some my revered cupcakes.

So you see? It was really our sugary destiny to be graced with the lusciousness of KAT'S CAFE that stormy Saturday night. And believe me, nothing gives me a happier weekend than being able to taste and conquer a craving like that from KAT'S CAFE.

KAT'S CAFE!!

KAT'S CAFE was actually near ACACIA HOTEL, but traffic was horrendous that night so we got there after about an hour.  The Chinese Adonis and I also had a hard time looking for the restaurant because it was within a subdivision and we were so unfamiliar with Las Pinas. Even if Kathi said to look for a "well lit cupcake", we still cannot find it!

Good thing that KAT'S CAFE is moving to Robinson's Place Las Pinas at October 25, 2014.  SO YEY! At least it won't be as hard to look for my luscious cupcakes the next time we're at the South!

THE ULTIMATE TASTE TEST (2014)

Every year, there is that on event which the Chinese Adonis and I are very excited about that we prepare for it as early as the start of the year: The ULTIMATE TASTE TEST!

I'm sorry.... were you thinking about our Wedding Annivesary? I know I should be too if I could only remember when it is. Tee Hee!

Seriously though, the ULTIMATE TASTE TEST in ROCKWELL TENT has become a tradition for us every year even before I started this silly little foodie blog.  Like it says so in their "battle cry", this is the ULTIMATE event where you become a food critic for a day and try out over 50+ home based food vendors plus participating restaurants from Powerplant Mall all day from 11:00am to 9:00pm!

All this for only P600.00??? You bet!

And THAT is why I would choose this AWESOME foodie celebration over our wedding anniversary anytime!

As much as I would like to have the body of Angelina Jolie or Anne Curtis, I am stuck with the body of a pear. Oh yes. I'm a walking fruit with my big hips ALWAYS getting jiggy with it.  But no matter how much I wish to get that coca cola bottle figure, I would never give up on sweets. You may TRY to give me fruits for desserts but I will ALWAYS reach out far (if it's in the other end of the room) just to get my sweet nummy treat.

So during out B HOTEL epic staycation (SEE HERE and HERE) even if I was already filled to my gut with delicious Chinese food from Phoenix Hotel (blogpost to follow), several boxes arrived from KAT'S CAFE. I saw almost everyone go gaga when they opened the unpretentious boxes because it encased what seemed to be the most delectable cupcakes that would cap our perfect weekend.

KAT'S CAFE cupcakes are sold at P65.00 each but if you get more than 5 pieces, it will be marked down to P60.00. But even with its affordable prices compared to other specialty desserts, you will still be assured of the quality at every bite because owner Chef Katrece Gamo (a graduate of Center for Asian Culinary Studies with a diploma in Culinary & Pastry), would only use the finest ingredients such as Belgian or Vahlrona chocolate, and Philadelphia cream cheese!
