BROTZEIT WITH THE BOYS (2019)

For our VALENTIMES celebration every year, the boys and I would always go out on one-on-one dates with their venue of choice. With these dates, I also take it as an opportunity to teach the little lords how to be a perfect gentlemen when they're out with a lady. I believe that you can't start them early enough when it comes to proper behavior!

Everything goes well of course, except for the food and farting department. He he he he he he he! KIDDING!

ANYWHO, our schedules were so full this year (plus somebody got sick again) that I was not able to have one-on-one dates with the boys. At the same time, when I ask who wants to go out on a VALENTIMES date with me, they would eagerly point TO THE OTHER ONE.

MGA CHE!!!

With that, the Yub and I just resolved to have a family date to officially end the VALENTIMES season. It was perfect timing too because we received an invite from BROTZEIT for their event "A FAMILY VALENTINE."

Family? That's something you don't hear in BROTZEIT everyday.

It's true though. BROTZEIT is now becoming popular with families because of their delicious dishes in their extensive menu that could be appreciated by the kiddies as well. The Yub and I haven't brought the little lords to BROTZEIT that's why we're happy that for our family VALENTIMES date, we'll get to do this with them.

Check out our VALENTIMES night in BROTZEIT where we all had a great time feasting on meats plus more. It may not be our usual venue for VALENTIMES but huwadaheck, we all had an enjoyable family date!

Yup! Eat! Drink! Party! BROTZEIT has delicious menu items that will make your OKTOBERFEST more exciting!

KAFE BATWAN

Very recently, my friend Albert celebrated his birthday and invited ERICJAZ FOODIES plus the CAMPOS to lunch.

The choice of the birthday boy that day was KAFE BATWAN!

Since I knew that Albert and his wife Suet are always on "military time", I rushed the Chinese Adonis so we would be at the restaurant early.

Let's just say, I got him out of the house even before he had a chance to curl his hair. He he he he he he he! Kidding!

YAMATO AKIHABARATEN (JAPAN TRIP 2015)

THE YAPPY BUNCH and my family are in AKIHABARA, TOKYO and after going around the anime capital of Japan, we were all hungry!

Yes we're cute now, but you will not like us when we're hungry!

Good thing that my eldest brother, Kuya Jay was in the mood for 2 important things:

1) Yakiniku
2) Treating us

When we told him that we passed by a Yakiniku restaurant while shopping for some toys, he immediately declared that will be our venue for dinner tonight, and yes, he WILL be treating!

Oh the night CANNOT be more better!

TBS BLUE CORNER (SIZZLING EXPRESS ATB)

While we were planning our weekend staycation trip to SEDA NUVALI, the Chinese Adonis said that if we don't have anything planned with the BP Group, maybe we could go to his favorite "Bulaluhan" place for lunch. Since my husband rarely makes requests unless it's something he really, really, really, wanted, I told him that even if there WERE plans, we will still be going to his little bulaluhan house.

So off we drove over to TBS BLUE CORNER (SIZZLING EXPRESS ATB)! Now I don't know what's the meaning of "ATB" but I guess it's too tiresome for them  to add the letter "P" for "At Iba Pa!"

The Adonis warned however that TBS BLUE CORNER was not air-conditioned and was more like an eatery, aka "turo-turo" (point your desired food). Of course, I didn't mind. As long as the place was safe, (somehow) clean, and served delicious food, I'm there!

Of course, the same could not be said for the little lords.

When we got TBS BLUE CORNER, they immediately started complaining about everything! They fretted over the dust, the heat, the flies, the crowd, and even the utensils used. It was even so embarrassing that they chose to vocally express themselves, therefore attracting more unneeded attention!  To give them the benefit of the doubt though, it WAS hot and I could just imagine how uncomfortable they were so they just blamed their discomfort over everything they see. But later on, they got a whiff of what's coming for lunch that they quieted down.

Of course, no matter how much dust, heat, and crowds there are, when your hungry stomach calls out, you listen! Thank gulay that TBS BLUE CORNER was able to silence deliciously our tummies!

Even if there were some dust on the side. He he he he he he!

IT'S MILLER TIME (FINALLY!)

ERICJAZ FOODIES was recently invited to the hottest "it" place in Metro Manila for the launch of this much awaited party drink -- MILLER GENUINE DRAFT!

To be honest, I am really much a party girl. I go more for get-togethers with friends/family that promises plenty of food and loads of conversation in a quiet "noise-free" room. HOWEVER, it is so different with the Chinese Adonis. Let's just say that he may be all quiet and gentlemanly on the outside but inside, there's a frat boy just waiting to explode and roar!

So naturally, the Chinese Adonis was quite excited to attend the launch of MILLER'S GENUINE DRAFT. He knew that tonight, he will get to see and be seen with Manila's coolest who will come together to have a first taste of MILLER DRAFT.

And I'm sure with a taste of this golden ice cold drink, you will agree that for a good time, in MILLER we trust! One chug and you'll know that the night is ALWAYS far from over.

From Miller Genuine Draft Philippines

Oh yeah. I will say it.

It's (definitely) MILLER TIME!

The view may be spectacular at 71 GRAMERCY....

But there is a "pot of gold" waiting for the hyper party-goer.

BUFFALO WILD WINGS IN CAPITOL COMMONS

When we were in the US last year (egad has it already been a year???), my cousin took us to BUFFALO WILD WINGS to take home some buckets of chicken for dinner. We were with him because we were touring the strip of Las Vegas that time and we were famished for some juicy chicken wings!!

It was socceer season that day in BUFFALO WILD WINGS Las Vegas and while waiting for our orders, we did what we would usually do to pass the time....

We took pictures...

... and played some games!

Andrei's so good here because for one coin, he was able to hook up 2 stuffed toys!!! Isn't that cool? I could barely manage to get even just one!

BUFFALO WIND WINGS finally landed in the Philippines and opened its doors early this year. My husband and I were invited to feast on these addicting wings recently and we were so happy that it tasted as delicious as it did in the US!! No shortcuts nor cheapening factors (like what some US franchises would do) in order to lower their prices. You will still get the real deal of this winged favorite that's ruling the roost of chicken and sports lovers alike!

BUFFALO WILD WINGS in CAPITOL COMMONS!

The Chinese Adonis arrived early as he was very excited to get a taste again of his favorite fried wings!

WELCOME!

CHUCK'S VACATION IN THE PHILIPPINES

Charles aka Chuck (or if I could get away with it, Chuckie) is my nephew via my favorite cousins Kuya Nap and Ate Sheila from Las Vegas. Even if they live faraway, we still feel so close to him because I saw him from a cute wee chubby baby into a giant whom I have to do the tippy toes with to do "beso beso".

Me and Chuckster (in black and with his brothers) in 1998!

Dear Chuckie, unlike his other brother, would seem to be the quiet type but as they say looks could be VERY deceiving. He may not be the Jim Carrey outrageous loudmouth but he could always make me guffaw with his dry humor and wit. It's always a fun time with Chuckie and I love that when he's onto you, it means he really likes you. Because even if he was named after that terror doll (yes my Kuya Nap is so cool), there is nothing fake or scary about it. What you ALWAYS get is a tall gentleman who quietly observes and would shoot out witty one liners and expressions. I'm glad that he grew up the way he is now. So proud to call him my nephew! My cousins did a very good job rearing him up!

I'll find a younger and more embarrassing picture of you Chuckie soon!

My nephew Chuckie (sorry I can't help it I know he hates that name) currently works in Korea as an English teacher and had a 2 week vacation coming up. He thought that instead of flying to Las Vegas (where he will return to in April) he could just go to Manila to spend time with us. At the prospect of seeing him again, we were all excited because we missed him last year when we were in Las Vegas. Mati saw him in his first trip in the US when he was very young but Andrei was intrigued because finally he's meeting the owner of the many SIMPSON'S dvd  and Xbox he abused.

As I was planning our itinerary, I asked Chuckie what he wanted to do for his short stay in the Philippines. To my surprise, he did not asked to be taken to beaches, tourist spots, or even malls! What he listed were foods that he wanted to try and he specified that the weirder the better. Nothing fancy shmancy -- he just wanted to have the things he cannot have in Korea or Las Vegas. Wow ! He turned out to be a different kind of foodie. Now THAT I didn't know!

That does it. I'm going to adopt this nephew of mine soon!

Upon Chuck's arrival in the Philippines, his first request was to have dinner at JOLLIBEE! Yep! JOLLIBEE! So the whole family (minus my eldest brother) got a long table for dinner at our country's number one fast food chain!

Mati was smitten with his Kuya Chuckie and didn't leave his side. They talked non-stop like there was no tomorrow!

Besides the chicken joy and jollihotdog, Chuckie had a plate of JOLLIBEE spaghetti! I remember one time when he was younger and he found his pasta dry. When I requested for extra sauce immediately for him, he was impressed.

I remember him saying "Going the extra mile. That's nice."

He was 8 years old then.

After dinner, we had coffee at SUGARHOUSE.

BUFFALO WILD WINGS COMING TO MANILA!!!!!

Last year when we were in Las Vegas to celebrate Andrei's 7th birthday, my cousin Kuya Nap said we would take home some BUFFALO WILD WINGS to savor on for our midnight snack. When he told us about it, my big forehead immediately remembered the times when he would always include some of the juicy buffalo wings in our "take home itinerary" every time were visiting his humble abode.

And we don't mind! In fact, it's something we always looked forward to because the thought of biting into that crisp, juicy spicy, and uber saucy wing would always get US drooling!!! Of course, I'll wolf down several pieces of it with the creamy bleu cheese dressing on the side plus a cup of piping hot garlic rice!

OMIGERRRRRRRRRRRD!

So really, BUFFALO WILD WINGS for us is almost a necessity!!! Just like my other favorite grub in the US, we cannot NOT have a bucket when we're there.

Last May 2013 when we dropped by BUFFALO WILD WINGS Las Vegas, it was the Fifa World Cup and they had a stand for pictures. We asked one of the kindly servers to get several snaps of us and she wonderfully obliged!

DEAR SPANKY'S BIRTHDAY ( A KTG SURPRISE!)

One of the highlights in the "life" of ERICJAZ FOODIES is being part of the KTG (Kain Tulog Gang) because finally, we met people who love food as much as we do and would also document it any way they can.

"Before somebody reacts, of course, my family and friends still top my list but I cannot tell you how many times I got the "Enough already!" when I take pictures of them! Pero naman when they see themselves in the blog, kilig na kilig! Che! Ha ha ha ha!"

Anyway, the person responsible for forming this "Foodie Family" is Mr. Spanky Enriquez... The Chairman... Our Pitboss...  THE Bossman!

So pogi!

Now many times I'm sure you saw me refer to him as "Dear Spanky". Hold on to your knickers, I'm not about to replace the Chinese Adonis.... yet (Bwa ha ha ah ah!). But at the start (and he doesn't know this), I did so to show respect to a person I regarded so high in social media (I was scared of him honestly at first!!!) that instead of referring to him as SIR Spanky (which he detested, violently!), I tweaked it up a bit and regularly called him DEAR (it's pretty close actually, especially if you have a hard tongue... he he he he he!). So from them on it was Dear Spanky this... Dear Spanky that. If you see my thought bubble, you would THINK I was also doing the "We're not worthy"action. NAKS! But of course, as time went on, I mentally dropped the DEAR as a stand-in for SIR and it really became what it stood for... calling somebody who is very DEAR to us.

I discovered that dear Spanky is REALLY a very cool guy and nothing to be scared about! He is actually the only person who believed in my blog (yes, the Chinese Adonis is NOT included) and would make me feel good about it at times when I doubted its silliness.

And believe me, with the way he is taking care of us in KTG, he deserves all the love that he is getting right now. I'm sure the others will agree that we owe him a lot. With that, it's no wonder why his group of hungry and lazy bloggers came together to surprise him on his special day. It was really the least that we could do to honor our King of the "Rawr" and our GODFATHER.

Dear Sir SPANKY! We love you to the farthest of Milky Way and back. Maybe that's why you'll always be somebody from another galaxy in our eyes!

:)

YUB'S FAMILY REUNION

I'll let you in on a secret....

As much as I appear to be the sociable and class clown kind of gal, I HATE going to parties. Really! Put me in a group and I will certainly be the one joking around and laughing the loudest. But when I'm in a big room full of people. UGH. It's hell for me. I really don't know why. I read somewhere it's the same syndrome as Johnny Carson's wherein the famous late night talk show host could make the whole world laugh but was an extremely shy person. Hard to believe but yes.

If you answer it's hard to believe that I make ANYONE laugh for that matter then I'm going to release the hounds on you. He he he he he!

Seriously though, I could be very anti-social at times because besides being shy, I get easily irritated. Yeah. I don't really want to dwell on it but when the moon is full, I have these moods that make me want to snap at anyone in my way. PMS? I doubt. I'm already menopausal. Tee Heee!!

Anywho, I'm glad that when we attended the FAMILY REUNION for Yub's Motherside relatives, none of my usual "endearing" attitudes showed up. I was also wondering why until THIS, presented itself:

YU-UH. And THIS was only for merienda. Ha ha ha ha!

Afterwards I sold my soul to gluttony. Yep. There was no turning back! I realized, I don't care if I had to "party on" with a full battalion of people, or contend with the most irritating person in the world (aka Kris Aquino): if I had just the premise of having the delicious spread that we ate during that FAMILY REUNION, then I'm going to invite myself to ALL parties. Ha ha ha ha ha!

And like I always say, yes, food does that to me.

B&B (BURGERS AND BREWSKIES 1ST YEAR ANNIVERSARY)

It's the first year anniversary of B & B (BURGERS AND BREWSKIES) and ERICJAZ FOODIES were there to celebrate the very meaty event!

BURGERS AND BREWSKIES was the break out burger joint in Burgos Circle and it's already a year old!

Sorry for the alliteration but you cannot have enough B's especially when it's a BEAUTIFUL BABE BLOGGING!

Bwa ha ha ha ha!

BLECH!

TEXAS ROADHOUSE GRILL

Last September 27, 2014 was indeed a busy "foodie" day for me and the Chinese Adonis: We went to CRISP on 28th in the morning for a belly inducing brunch, then became food critics for the whole afternoon at ULTIMATE TASTE TEST in Powerplant Mall.

When we got so full at the ULTIMATE TASTE TEST that my husband and I could not move anymore, we were deciding if we should still go home or head straight to TEXAS ROADHOUSE GRILL to meet his childhood friends in the Fort. We were already out the whole morning and afternoon that I at least wanted a fresh change of clothes so that I don't smell of food when I make beso-beso with my husband's pogi-wogi friends (Ha ha ha!). But when we saw the traffic outside Powerplant Mall, my husband put his food down (pun sort of intended) and said we'll be driving straight to BGC. He said it'll be crazy to go home to rest for just 5 minutes then go out again.

HMP! The Chinese Adonis claims the reason why he wanted to get to the venue early was that he didn't want parking to be a hassle. YEAH RIGHT. If I know, he just didn't want me looking oh so fresh and beautiful for his childhood pogi-wogi friends. Ha ha ha ha!

Just kidding!

So anyway, the reason why we're going to TEXAS ROADHOUSE GRILL is because one of my husband's childhood friends namely TJ, was visiting from the US. With that, we cannot NOT meet up with some of them since they have been friends for soooooo long --- think "pre-school long".

All throwback pictures grabbed from TOPMUD vaults

My husband actually has a kinder one class picture with all of his TOPMUD friends in it ("Topmud" is the of his barkada). But from here you could see clearly the boys we will be meeting later on at TEXAS ROADHOUSE GRILL (the boy in stripes is Dr. Jan while the kiddie in orange is Chid).

Could you see where the Chinese Adonis is here?

DONU PORK AND BEEF GRILL

When my husband and I go out for dinner on our usual date nights, is very convenient for us to eat in mall restaurants since we would watch a movie afterwards. It is very rare that we would just go out on a lone dining establishment UNLESS that place is very, very, special.

And yes, we are very glad to discover that DONU really, really, falls in that category.

We first saw DONU upon the recommendations of the great Spanky Enriquez (JUICE.PH) where he raved about the delicious food at a very cheap price. Then, when we had a Korean craving one night, we knew it was the place for us because he said our favorite keywords -- "delicious" and "cheap".

I'm sure you would say that there are many similar restaurants out there situated in our family favorite malls, but when it comes to Korean food, I would personally forego the commercialized ones and head for the establishment frequented by it's "locals".

And DONU certainly fits that Korean bill! It's a major plus too that they show Koreanovelas while you eat. Teee hee!

I know Koreanovelas won't really seal the deal for some but what the heck. Wouldn't you like to know what happened to the "Coffee Prince" while you eat???

Oh yes... I know my "priorities". Tee hee!

DENCIO'S (CAPITOL GREENSTREET)

When you grow up, there would just be times when you  want to get away from it all.

Some may reason out "harassment" from work... or a breather from school.

I'm sure my husband would give a shout out that he wants a day-off from his very loud (oops), hyper (huh), over emotional (now wait a minute) wife.

(Jaz - Why don't the words "hot", "beautiful", "sexy" work???)

As for me, I just want a place to relax. Though the city could be very exciting, there are times where I just want to stare and breathe in utmost relaxation (if possible) in Metro Manila.

And if great food is within an arm's reach, then that probably means you're in heaven.

With DENCIO's Capitol Greenstreet Mall branch, you could get all of the above. What you have is a restaurant situated in a quiet location in Quezon City and a breath-taking scenery to further complement the delicious food that DENCIO's is famous for.

And like I said, having the country's best sisig within arm's reach and a matching view to enjoy, it might just feel like I am in heaven.

(Eric -- "Maybe that is the only kind of heaven you'll EVER enjoy")

Why you! >:(
