SIAM THAI (PIONEER CENTER)

It was a hot Monday and as much as THE YAPPY BUNCH would like to stay in and just sleep the holiday away, we are going out for some Thai food. Now having sizzling barbecue and spicy cuisine may not be the ideal plan on a hot afternoon, but I've been hearing raves about SIAM THAI, plus we were going to see our favorite Kain Tulog Gang, so yeah, we are DEFINITELY going!

Yup! The holiday, sleeping in, Game of Thrones, household chores, online surfing, giving the cat a bath, dying my hair red, buying a bikini, studying my book on rocket science, etc etc. will just HAVE to wait! The Chinese Dimpol, Master Mati, and I will be stuffing ourselves with some hot Thai food as if winter is coming.

And with the amount of delicious plates of SIAM THAI food we ate that lunch time, you would think that we were getting ready to hibernate!

SIAM THAI is located at the Pioneer Center in Kapitolyo. We arrived early so we were lucky to park in front of the restaurant. Normally though parking is so bad that you may have to sacrifice your first born to a white walker to get one.

A couple of Fridays ago, the Chinese Adonis and I celebrated the start of a wonderful weekend by jamming up with some of the usual suspects:

Delicious food. 

And the verdict for the day when I'm in love (thanks Cure) was in the stretch of Kapitolyo, Pasig City.

SILK ROAD THAI BISTRO (PART DEUX)

On a Friday night, we met up with one of our new favorite foodie couple Albert and Suet for some Thai food. 

"New favorite foodie couple" you wonder? Well you would put them up your list as well especially if they made you a SUSHI CAKE for your BIRTHDAY! Ha ha ha ha! Sorry, I'm such a pathetic "food-weathered friend" I know! H aha ha!

Anyway, we remembered that we had such a gastronomic night in the now closed Thai Bistro in Robinson's Magnolia (SEE HERE) that when Chef Cecille Chang reopened the doors of her wonderful Thai food creations via SILK ROAD, we knew that was the next place for us to be.

Of course, besides indulging in our usual SILK ROAD THAI BISTRO favorites, we were also there to ogle at the ultra hot Chef Cecille! He he he he!

THAI BISTRO

I am a girl of routine. Call it boring, lazy, or just plain dull but I love following a schedule and my husband knows that if my usual "agenda" is not followed to a T, I'll be grumpy and gnarling the whole night.

So for one Friday, my husband and I already set a date with one of our new favorite foodie couple, Albert and Suet, to meet at Robinson's Magnolia. However, a storm decided to loom it's way towards Manila (not Yolanda... yet) that we were already having doubts if the dinner will push through or not. But then I thought, it's FRIDAY. We were meant to meet up with friends! So by hook or by crook, we shall push through. Besides, Albert suggested we go for Thai that all bets are off. I love that cuisine so much that I would almost drop everything when Thai is on the menu (I said "almost" because what if I was carrying a baby? Tee hee).

Anyway, even if there were already rains and thunderstorms it's off to Thai Bistro we go because we know we will be surely in for a night of great company and delicious food!  Now if that will not make you commit to my kind of schedule, then I don't know what will.

Except of course if it's a date with me....

Fine I'm just kidding. No need to call the mental institution or anything... :)

Everytime yub and I would eat at SLICE N DICE or JT's, we often pass by this restaurant which boasts of authentic bangkok street food. Now I am SUCH a fan of hole in a wall restos and "bangketa" grubs so this naturally piqued my curious little tummy!!!

When we got in, the service was very accomodating that you would think you were eating at TGIFridays or other themed restaurants that would charge you an arm or leg for service charge.!!! THAI DARA had this cozy ambience that would be a far cry from a measly street kiosk that I became suspicious if it will be at par with the most popular cheap Thai restow in the Metrow.

But... lucky for my me, the food was friggin good!!! It was definitely better than SOME other cheap thai restos that I know.

Yub ate a lot as well... and in between bites, he was already choosing what we could try next in ADDITION to what we are already having...

By the way, Thai Dara... reminds me of Sandara... ha ha ha ha stupid comparison I know! Ha ha ha ha

THAI DARA has a lot of delicious looking food to choose from and I had such a hard time selecting what to eat that night.

I had SUCH a hard time that I was not able to put on lipstick! GRRR!

Even if it was just me and the hub at THAI DARA, we had the many famous Korean faces in front of us to keep us company!

THAI DARA interiors is just smart casual where in it is clean and carefree. You could just let yourself go here without being too sloppy!

Before I was able to take a pic, my husband hurriedly digged in to THAI DARA's Bagoong Rice (P179.00). He knows that just to spite him, I would mix everything knowing that he hates vegetables on anything. So there he went and took spoonfuls of the rice with pork!

We also ordered THAI DARA's Pad Thai (P179.00) which seemed simple yet appetizing!!!

THAI DARA's pad thai was loaded with toppings and definitely not your usual plate of noodles!

The big boy has to have his chicken so we also had THAI DARA's Chicken Pandan (P209.00)!

I was fully satisfied with THAI DARA's bagoong rice because even if it was flavored with exotic spices, it was not too overpowering to be enjoyed with the pad thai and chicken pandan!
