OF PANCAKES AND DOGGIES

One weekend, our little doggie Cable was unusually sad. She was not as hyper as she used to be.

PANCAKE HOUSE (ROBINSON'S GALLERIA)

Even if I promise so many times that I will buy the boys' school supplies a month before school starts, I often fail. It's just procrastination at its best!

That's what happened for schoolyear 2019-2020. It was the last week of July and AAAAAACK... we haven't bought anything for the boys!!!! So one Saturday, by hook or by crook we decided to head on to Robinson's Galleria to buy what the boys needed for school (uniforms, sandos, socks, brips... he he he etc). And after a full day of shopping, I was ravenous.

HELLOOOOOO! NAGIMBALA NA NGA HIGA KO SA KAMA E GUGUTUMIN PA AKO, AY SUS!!!

Tee heee!!!

The Yub and I decided to go for PANCAKE HOUSE since it's been a long time that we've been there last. Though I always get to eat PANCAKE HOUSE goodies (from our office meetings) syempre, it's still different to eat at the actual restaurant.

So even if Master Mati was asking for Ramen Nagi (neknek mo, I'm the boss of you now) we went to PANCAKE HOUSE for some good ol' comfort food.

Yay! And all was well again.

PANCAKE HOUSE BONIFACIO HIGH STREET

My bunsoy Andrei recently celebrated his birthday and one of his wishes was to have a getogether with our BP Family.

Originally, the plan was to go to Enchanted Kingdom for a whole day of fun but then we learned that it was going to be his exam week, so we had to cancel. Too bad that we cannot reschedule to another weekend because it was already Christmas.

In the end, we just had a Sunday birthday brunch for him (because if it were lunch, who knows what time we finish with our chika... ha ha ha ha). And the place that we thought of where the kids could play was in PANCAKE HOUSE, BGC!

BP Group in PANCAKE HOUSE!

We set out early for BGC and since it's a Sunday, there's not much of a Christmas rush.

Even though the Fort was not as lavishly decorated as other cities, you could still sense that Christmas is (was) in the air.

LE PETIT SOUFFLE FOR MY 42ND BIRTHDAY (2017)

Many times I've seen LE PETIT SOUFFLE invade my Facebook and Instagram feed with its mouth-watering pictures of their dishes. And many times, I would mentally schedule dinner there with the Chinese Dimpol. Good thing that for my birthday season, my mareng Gail asked me where I wanted to go for her dinner treat. Without batting an eyelash (but with pa-cute efforts), I immediately chose LE PETIT SOUFFLE because well, the timing was JUUUUUST right.

YAY! I was able to discover what those picture-perfect Facebook and IG posts were all about. And yep, it was SO perfect for my birthday dinner date with Team Campo!

LE PETIT SOUFFLE is located at the second floor of SM Megamall's Fashion Hall. You'd never miss the sign with the bright canary yellow colors!

DENNY'S WITH TEAM MINA

DENNY'S is fast becoming one of THE YAPPY BUNCH's favorite restaurants that when we're deciding where to treat Team Mina for my godchild's birthday dinner, we immediately called it out. Because what's not to love? The food was delicious and the servings were usually enough for sharing. Of course, like any new restaurant in the Metro, they still have a lot to improve upon especially when it comes to service and maintenance of the place. But still, THE YAPPY BUNCH was willing to give it a second, third, or even fourth chance, just to have a taste of our new favorites (Hello peanut butter chocolate pancakes!)

And as expected, we all had a fun dinner at DENNY'S not just because we're with our best friends or that we're celebrating something special. We really have a great time because of DENNY'S delicious food.

Are we going back again????

You betcha by golly wow in a DENNY'S minute!!!!

DENNY'S!!!!

My godchild PaoPao recently celebrated his birthday and we were not able to attend because we were in Lucena with the Chinese Dimpol's family. With that I promised BGP Marian that I'll treat my pogi Pao Pao in KIDZANIA then continue the "party" for dinner later.

Me, the Chinese dimpol, and my bunsoy Andrei. Master Mati was supposed to go with us but he missed his Lolo Pogi and chose to go with my Dad to be his "assistant" for tonight.

(Belated) Happy Birthday Pao Pao!

Ordering!!!!!

DENNY'S was still fine tuning their service that some of the food took a lot of time to be served. However, when we indicated how important it was for Pao Pao to eat earlier (because he was already hungry), they managed to take out a hot platter of their Chocolate Overload Peanut Butter Pancake Plate (P395.00)!

I was not hungry yet but man oh man I wanted to dive into that moist and creamy pancake ahead of Pao Pao! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

We requested the bacon to be extra crispy and they got that so right too!

FINALLY our food is here!!!!

Our own Chocolate Overload Peanut Butter Pancake Plate!!!!

Manong Fred got the DENNY'S Rib-Eye Philly Melt Cheesesteak (P495.00) and I swear to you it WAS SO GOOD! The thinly sliced marinated meat was so tender and flavorful that each bite was an explosion of awesomeness with creamy cheese on the side. Besides being so yum, an order of the cheese steak was more than enough to satisfy one hungry ogre (Manong Fred) or two normal beings.

Tee Hee!

I missed Master Mati so much that I ordered his favorite DENNY'S Cajun Shrimp (P375.00)!

It was as still good as I remembered it but I think it was sitting at the counter for long because it was not sizzling anymore and was lukewarm.

The Chinese Dimpol suddenly craved for some sausages ("jumbo hotdog kaya mo ba TO?/") and ordered the Country Sausage (P125.00)!

This was juicy, meaty, and so tasty!!! We loved that it had that slight crunch when you bite into it.

ERICJAZ FOODIES with TEAM MINA in DENNY'S!!!!

Let's eat!!!!

For dessert, Andrei and the Birthday Boy each ordered an Oreo Milk Shake!!!

Yummm!

This was so delish that Andrei focused more on the milkshake than his food. H aha ha ha ha ha ha!

Burp!!!!

As an additional treat for my little godson, we arranged for a birthday song from the DENNY'S staff!!!!

YEYYY!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAOPAO!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAOPAO! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAAAY.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAOPAO!!!!!!!

YIHIIIIIIIIIIIIII! SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOHOOOOOOOOO!

HOWEVER....

PaoPao: Seriously?

(Cricket.... cricket...)

My inaanak's face....

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

He finally smiled when the DENNY'S servers left. Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

There you go! Don't worry PaoPao! We won't subject you to a loud birthday song again. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

We're still thankful to DENNY'S servers for being so nice and accommodating with the birthday song.

Afterwards he requested to sit beside his Kuya Andrei and the two huddled up together while the (feeling) grown-ups talked about anything and everything.

The DENNY'S bill!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAOPAO!!!

Seriously we are craving to go back IMMEDIATELY to DENNY'S!

Don't worry PaoPao. It won't be to celebrate anyone's birthday with a birthday song. He he he he he he he!

LET'S EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

DENNY'S AGAIN!!!

Though it was a sunny Saturday, mornings are still chilly that it's hard to tear myself from the bed.

But of course, the promise of delicious food with THE YAPPY BUNCH is enough to make me forget the comforts of my soft cold bed and go up and at 'em!!!

And what instantly got me alive, alert, awake, and enthusiastic???

LUNCH AT DENNY'S!!!

YEAAAAH!!!

THE YAPPY BUNCH are out for another Saturday family day!

And since they were not with us during the launch, we thought of treating our little lords to DENNY'S!

A SUPERCHAMPZ AND IHOP SUNDAY!!!!

Have you seen those ads in Facebook by SUPERCHAMPZ where free seminars are conducted to help your child become more passionate about studying? I did, and I thought, what the heck, we should try it! The little lords loved playing more than doing their homework (as any child would) so it would really be a big help if I get more tips on how to get them to be more serious about school.

The seminar was free and it was only for about 2 hours. I'm sure there's a catch in the end (because nothing is really free these days) but I figured that if it is something that my little lords could learn from, then it's worth our time.

So off we went to SUPERCHAMPZ for our family Sundate!!!!

NEW ENTREES FROM IHOP!!!!

ERICJAZ FOODIES was recently invited to try out the new meals from the INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF PANCAKES (IHOP) and we were beyond excited!

I remember that when IHOP first opened in BGC the lines were just unimaginable. The people who endured the long wait (ourselves included) were combinations of those who had tried their food from the US and those who just wanted to taste what the fuss was about. Too bad that those who really set up such over-the-top expectations on IHOP was disappointed. As for ERICJAZ FOODIES,  honestly, we still enjoyed it!

Sure, it tasted different from what we are used to here in Manila (because of the different ingredients)...

Sure, the servings may be smaller compared to the US (for pricing purposes)...

Sure, some of the dishes of the dishes from the US may not be available (either they prioritized more on the Filipino favorites OR, ingredients that were ordered from the US haven't arrived yet. They don't use substitutes!!!!)...

YUP! BUT WE STILL ENJOYED IT!

Because really, you shouldn't hype yourselves up just for the heck of it. IHOP has been serving hot platters of breakfast and main entrees for over 57 years so I'm sure they know what they are doing. And if you just set aside comparisons and expectations, you will also find something to enjoy in IHOP.

YEAH! Like what we always do! That's why we have fun in everything!

And in IHOP, they have new dishes in the menu to give you more reasons to come back for a visit. That's why with their ever growing list of foods to try out, I'm sure you'll find again something to enjoy too!

HAPPY IHOP EATING!!!!

And we're back in IHOP! But this time, we're in Araneta Center!

IHOP Araneta Center is the second brand of the franchise to open in the Philippines. Soon there will be a total of 8 branches in Manila of this American favorite!!!!

GENKI SUSHI FOR MOTHER'S DAY (2016)

As MOTHER'S DAY approached, I was both excited and worried.

EXCITED because it will be MY day. I expected to be spoiled silly with food and whatever I friggin desire.

WORRIED because the Chinese Dimpol and Andrei were set to leave for Quezon Province (he was going to vote).

Now who will be treating me to whatever I friggin desire?????

To be honest, as MOTHER'S DAY approached I became more and more miserable. For some reason, little dramatic me was doing some serious self pitying and questioning my worth as a Mom when my bunsoy was so set to leave me on that special day.

But then I remembered: why do I have to focus on my weird self when the most lovely lady who had ever walked on the face of the earth is with us?

YEP. My Mom!

Now I don't want to get into details as to how my Mommy is the epitome of a beautiful Mother inside and out because believe me, it will take more than one post!!! Everyone agrees that she has the beauty of Boots Anson Roa and she's so mahinhin too (unlike me). She is always a principal sponsor in a wedding because couples really look up to her! Would you believe that she's a doctor but she did not continue with her practice as she chose to stay home and take care of her beautiful children (NAKS).  Anyway, I choose not to enumerate any more because everyone who knows my Mom knows how awesome she is. So I don't really need to be repetitive now do I?

So don't mind about me. This MOTHER'S DAY will be for my Mommy.

But of course, we're still going to do some serious eating to celebrate!!!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY Mommy!!!!

BASKETBALL AND KANTO FREESTYLE BREAKFAST!

I'm sure I have written here many times how my husband and I would usually just sleep till noon on Saturdays because that's how we roll on weekends. So just imagine the expression on our faces when little Andrei runs up while waving this pamphlet about basketball clinic in his school. Of course we were all supportive and enthusiastic but when we saw the time, 7:00am every Saturdays and Sundays....

DAYM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys have seen the prosthetics on Jack Nicholson as Batman right? Think of the same smile but more sinister looking while having constipation... Ding! Ding! Ding! That was us!!!

Oh well! So that put an end to our late night Fridays and Saturdays (usually watching dibidis) since we have to wake up early the next day. At times when the Chinese Adonis is feeling so lazy to get up, I would tell him to be thankful that we have a son who is very interested in the sport that my husband used to play. As for me, for the days when it's just SO HARD to even open one eye, I just motivate myself to get up by telling myself that we will have a family breakfast after Andrei's work out. Before you judge me, yeah, yeah, I am there for my son's sport blah blah blah. But of course, that wouldn't register yet when you have a growling tummy. Tee hee....

And believe me. That happens to me almost EVERY TIME.

Seriously though, we are actually very happy that at the age of 7, my little Andrei has shown real passion and eagerness to play basketball. Because he loves Michael Jordan so much, he said he wants to be an NBA player when he grows up. I know it may be difficult but we'll do what we can to make his dream come true. Besides, anything is possible and whatever he puts his heart on we will be there for him.... bench parents forever!

So with that my husband and I decided that after every game of Andrei, we will always have a family breakfast date. We want to instill in him that every time he sweats it at the court, we are prepared to push him on over a hot breakfast with some laughs on the side. Hopefully he'll feel that he may battle it out during a game but his YAPPY BUNCH will still add fun to it afterwards.

And that is how KANTO FREESTYLE BREAKFAST gained a fan in a future NBA player! :)

Andrei is out and about for his basketball clinic! Now isn't that a very eager and excited smile?

Also! Isn't my boy toy so sexy? GROOOOWLLLL!!!!!

While waiting for his new coach, the Chinese Adonis and Andrei warmed up by shooting some hoops.

When the coach came, he had the boys do some basketball drills.

We have attended many basketball clinics for Andrei and my husband said he liked this coach's drills the best.

Plus, since there were only 6 students on training, he was very focused on Andrei!

Bench parents!!!!!!!!!

Go Andrei!

The coach was impressed with Andrei's shooting and dribbling. Yey!

I loved his form here!

After his first day of basketball clinic, we were all hungry. So we all decided to troop over KANTO FREESTYLE BREAKFAST!!!

KANTO FREESTYLE BREAKFAST is this popular hub in Mandaluyong that's open to serve 24 hours.
