BLACK OLIVE

It was a Friday night and our group "THE HAPPY NA, MAGANDA PA" are out with out with our hubbies.

Okay before you all cringe, I have to apologize but yes, that IS what we will be calling ourselves. Though you may not entirely agree on the whole statement, that's just what we are feeling at the moment --- Happy!

And what happens when one is happy?

It makes them beautiful!

And where do you find real true beauty?

INSIDE!

NAKS!

Anyway, we're all out and about with our devoted husbands for our usual dinner getogether. When deciding on a place, it was  Mareng Gail's turn to choose whatever she's craving for the night. (Yup! A great idea I got from dear Gem. Because that's what real friends do, taking turns in choosing while others will generously follow.) After a lot of discussion, we ended up in BLACK OLIVE in Capitol Commons. I haven't eaten there so I was doubly excited at how this night is turning out.

Because why shouldn't I be?

We'll be with generous friends with beautiful faces and beautiful souls (naks)....

AND....

We're trying out a restaurant that I've been reading about but haven't tried yet.

For me, that makes up a great equation for a funtabulous Friday night!

Wow! Now I'll be "Happy-er" and "Maganda-er"!

Teee Hee!

BLACK OLIVE!!!

It was a full night but it's a good thing the girls were able to get a table inside.

Drinks galore!

BUT, I don't drink so I might have to pass on that.

Inside, the non stop chika session has already begun!

ROLL CALL!

Mareng Gail and Pareng Jun!

Mareng Gem and Pareng Jojie!

The TRAIN and BUSAN!

He he he he he he he!

THE HAPPY NA, MAGANDA PA!

Ha h ah ah ah ah ha ha!

Don't block us please.

FOOD IS HERE!

BLACK OLIVE served a complimentary plate of baked Foccacia bread to dip in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

This was a great start especially that the bread was still warm and so appetizing to munch on.

Mareng Gem ordered the Montrogue Sangria to share to everyone (P700.00)!

BLACK OLIVE Mussels (P450.00)!

The marinara cream sauce with red wine was rich and great with bread...

Or rice!

BLACK OLIVE Carbonara (P230.00)!

I ordered the BLACK OLIVE Spaghetti Di Mare (P350.00) but I requested linguine instead.

I loved that it was full of fresh seafood and each strand of the linguine was so flavorful with garlic, olive oil, and white wine!

Egad! I'm watching my carb intake but I might just finish this!

BLACK OLIVE Baked Ziti (P280.00)!

BLACK OLIVE Pork Cutlet Milanese (P680.00)!

For the pizza, we ordered the BLACK OLIVE Prosciutto Di Parma (P480.00)!

As for the Chinese Dimpol, he had the BLACK OLIVE Italian Sausage Pizza (P550.00)!

I was excited to dig in here because of the mouth-watering melted toppings of gorgonzola cheese, basil pesto, and Italian sausage!

ERICJAZ FOODIES with Team Navarro and Team Campo in BLACK OLIVE!!!!

Galit galit muna!!!

I was so loving my BLACK OLIVE pasta with the ice cold sangria!

I made my plate more exciting with generous dashes of chili flakes!

As for the pizza, it was a different story.

I don't know if it was just a bad night for BLACK OLIVE but their pizza was so bland and tasted like cardboard.

SERIOUSLY!!!

We were hoping that with the generous toppings and all, we would be having a delicious meal bite after bite, but sorry to say, we didn't. :(

We didn't mention it to the servers anymore because we didn't want to make a big fuss over it. Besides, we thought, maybe we don't have good taste. Ha ha ha ha ha ha h aha!!!!

It was then that we noticed how other tables around us did not finish their pizzas as well!

Exhibit A....

Exhibit B...

And Exhibit C.

They were all finished na ah and just chatting away.

I hope we just had a bad pizza night in BLACK OLIVE. Hopefully when we return, the pizzas are back to normal.

Buti na lang the Chinese Dimpol is so pogi! Dimpol pa lang, ulam na!

HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Being the usual bungisngis group that we are, we just laughed about it and made it into a running joke throughout the night!

Our BLACK OLIVE bill!

Since we all wanted to chat some more, we moved the mini-party to UCC!

Seriously. Even if they are worlds apart, I'll choose THIS small cup of coffee over that pizza.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

#nevermagmomoveon !

So.

There.

  1. Sayang yung pizza hehehe... Was it really that bland? Sana may survey form sila dun sa store but I guess the pastas are delicious.

Sana magpunta kayo sa Punta Manila ni Paolo Bediones (hihihi #crushko) and have some reviews.

    1. Hiya Christine!!! Sad to say, yes. Super bland talaga. We cannot put anything to save it. Maybe it's only for that night because the other tables didn't finish their pizzas also. E kami pa. Our taste is very simple. Kahit Greenwich masaya na kami. But the one we had that night didn't taste like anything at all. Sana for that night lang.

Woah! Sige we'll check that out. Uy crush ko din si Paolo Bediones dati during his EXTRA days! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Thanks for the recommendation. Mmmwah!!! :)
