OUR SUNDAY FAMILY LUNCHES

Growing up, Sundays are precious because it is when we celebrate being a family with FOOD. Don't get me wrong. My family and I were already close to begin with and my Dad, the original foodie, loved taking us out for simple dinners and memorable getogethers even during weekdays. However, Sunday became our "commemorative" family day especially that we go to morning mass together. When we go home, my Mom would start heating up the sizzling plates and grill the steaks while my Dad will have Frank Sinatra blaring on the radio. My siblings and I would scramble to the table  because each wanted to be the first to get the good parts of steak or turbo chicken. Yes. As in AGAWAN! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Such happy memories!

Fast forward to when we are all grown up and had families of our own. I'm glad that my Mom still cooks up a storm for our Sunday Family Lunch that the tradition is rubbing off onto the little lords. Since the delicious food and togetherness really gave me unforgettable times growing up, I still held the day sacred and I would always tell the boys so. As a result, they too now consider Sunday Family Lunch to be something that we should always do at my home. Sure we would have other plans from time to time but those are rare as the priority is always Sunday lunch with the family.

I guess my dedication to it is rubbing off on the little lords because one time I asked Master Mati if he wanted to eat at our favorite sushi restaurant one weekend and he said "But it's Sunday Family Lunch!!! We should eat with everyone at home!!!!!!"

Awwwww....

Well I don't blame him because the chika and the Sunday food? REALLY GOOD!!!!!

Here's a compilation of our recent Sunday Family Lunches so that you'd get an idea why we're so obsessed with it!

Our SUNDAY FAMILY LUNCH!!!

Sometimes, the "fun" extends to dinner! He he he he he he he!

ANNAM VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT AGAIN!

We were in Eastwood one Friday night and suddenly had a craving for some Pho. With that, we instantly trooped on to ANNAM NOODLE BAR because the Chinese Dimpol and I had fun in our last meal there.

ANNAM!!!

Inside, ANNAM still had that cozy and intimate vibe that you wouldn't normally get in a restaurant that serves the very casual pho.

PING PONG DIPLOMACY

If you're searching for your greasy Chinese comfort food that's fried up in the streets of Binondo, trust me, PING PONG DIPLOMACY is not for you.

But if you're craving for Chinese American fusion that a little bit on the wild side, then you should IMMEDIATELY make plans to drive up to SM Aura, pronto!

Yup! I daresay that the food in PING PONG DIPLOMACY is not something that you have encountered before. The dishes are unique, imaginative, affordable, and most importantly, DELICIOUS. Really a winner for those with adventurous taste buds.

Now does PING PONG DIPLOMACY serve your usual Chinese Food? Definitely not. But it is something you should NEVER miss because it will surely be the start of a "beautiful relationship."

And for ERICJAZ FOODIES, it started last week. :)

ROVILIAZ AGAIN

After our family lunch in MAX'S to officially end our All Soul's Weekend in Lucena City, we drove out early so that we'll not be stuck in carmageddon! But of course, as it has always been our practice, we made a stopover at my Best Gal Pal Marian and Manong Fred's house to chika, eat, have coffee, AND MORE!

For that night however, Manong Fred declared that because we were not able to attend their birthday dinner for Pao Pao's birthday, they would be treating us for dinner. And since this has been our favorite Filipino comfort food whenever we're in Paranaque, Manong Fred chose ROVILIAZ!!!!!

ROVILIAZ!

Good food! Great times!

HID BURGERS WITH MY BOYS

The Chinese Dimpol and I are looking at a busy Saturday and the best way for us to officially start the weekend is by getting properly energized.

The choice for that day? Healthy and Irresistibly Delicious Burgers, or H.I.D.!

Because really! Some of the best battles were won when the general started the day with cheeseburgers. (It's true! I got it out of Facebook. :P). And since we were going Trick or Treatin', then a surprise party for an office mate, then movie night with the kiddies, I figured, healthy and delicious is the way to go.

And of course, since the Chinese Dimpol and I raved about how much we loved H.I.D Burgers, the little lords are coming with us!

H.I.D. BURGERS in Mandaluyong!

There were only about 6 tables in the restaurant so we're happy that we were the only ones there that morning. The server however informed me that on school days, they really get full that they sometimes run out of burgers!

WELCOMING THE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER (2017)

It's the Chinese New Year and THE YAPPY BUNCH went on our usual trip to Binondo to officially welcome the YEAR OF THE ROOSTER. This is already the family's 5th year of doing this tradition and even if we went to the same route, we still found something different to make the day memorable.

The great thing too was that since the little lords were older, I didn't hear ANY peep of whining from them.

HAPPY DAY!! YEHEY! He he he he he he he!

I think this has been our quickest day trip for the CHINESE NEW YEAR probably because we've doing the same thing for 5 years already. Yep! I feel that we are now considered as "pros" (ha ha ha ha ha!).  But kidding aside though, I believe it also had something to do with how time flies when you are having fun. And that we did, plus a lot more.

KUNG HEI FAT CHOI EVERYONE!!!!

It's the YEAR OF THE ROOSTER and THE YAPPY BUNCH will be joining the party in Chinatown Binondo!
