CRAVINGS has already been in existence for as long as I remember. I would usually go with my family and friends to their Shangri-la Edsa and San Juan branch especially if we're celebrating something special.

Yep. Somehow CRAVINGS brings back many memories that makes it feel like "home".

Now who would have thought that after many years, I will be back the Chinese Dimpol???

The Chinese Dimpol and I were able to drop by after work since their Katipunan branch was so near my office.

Unlike the CRAVINGS I knew before, they now have a brighter and more vibrant atmosphere. With the warm and peachy colors, you would think that they are celebrating Valentines the whole year!

The Chinese Dimpols and I were welcomed by CRAVINGS head chef, Mr. Jojo L. Derrada. He has been a chef for the company for 17 years and is still so passionate talking about his food. This probably explains why CRAVINGS has been filling us up for so long already because this guy knows what he's doing.

He created the Pasta Paella and Filet Mignon special just for this love season of CRAVINGS. And with the way he is enthusiastically describing it made us more excited for our early Valentine's dinner ahead!!!!!

But before we head out for the "main event", let's go to some "foreplay" first.

And with "foreplay" I meant APPETIZERS!!!

Kidding aside, what I also love about CRAVINGS Valentine's special is that you get to have unlimited plates and bowls of their salad and soup! And if you're a salad lover like me, you won't stop at one!

The Chinese Dimpol however, doesn't eat veggies but the two pots of bubbling hot soup was indeed a welcome sight!

My husband got me some of the Pumpkin cream soup knowing how much I loved it.

Now it's time to raid the salad bar!

I'm loving that the veggies are all fresh, crisp, and chilled!

Hmmm...What should I load on first?

This looks so colorful and tempting.

But since I loved Brocolli and corn, I went for THIS!

You know that you're getting the good kind of veggies especially if you see a certification confirming that these are organic. 

There are also olives, melba toasts, and pickles if you want something briny and crunchy in your salad!

Along with the veggies came the choice of dressing.

I think this is the first time I didn't see the usual "Thousand Island" and "Caesar's". He he he he he he!

I went for the Garlic Aioli dressing since I'm all for anything cream based with garlic!

Hmmmm.... If your date is craving for some Peanut Butter and Jelly for Valentine's then he/she is a keeper!!!

As I was piling up on the salad, I saw Chef Jojo busy with our Valentine's dinner.  With all the action you would think he's preparing a meal for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philippe! But no, it's just little ol' us!!! He he he he he he he!

Yihiiii! THE CROWN!

I settled down my seat with my plate of mixed greens and cream dressing.

Yey! My creamy pumpkin soup!

Wow! This pairing is already getting me a bit full and to think that it's unlimited along with the hot meal later on. Truly bang for the Yub's buck!!! 

While I was enjoying my soup and salad, the Chinese Dimpol showed off his deconstructed Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.

O sya! Keeper ka na nga!

Later on, something Red and White arrived.

One of the keys to having a lasting relationship is NEVER forgetting to laugh. 

And then, our main event arrives!!!!

For only P595.00, you could enjoy the Pasta Paella!!!

The aroma was just glorious! The scent of fried garlic with butter and seafood was instantly making my mouth water.

Even if I have already finished a full plate of the unlimited salad and soup, I was suddenly VERY hungry!

Oh yum! To further make the dinner more special, the Pasta Paella is served with wine!

According to Chef Jojo, he wanted the diner to have a different kind of experience everytime he/she takes in a mouthful of the pasta. With the variety of fresh ingredients, you could slurp the al dente noodles with the salty chorizo and olives, or the fatty shrimps and mussels. Either way, you'll find yourself reaching out for another forkful even if you claim that you are on a diet.

JUST LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!

The great thing with this pasta dish is that nothing is from the freezer -- everything is fresh. And yep! You could get it from the taste!

For the hardcore carnivores out there, order the Filet Mignon for P750,.00!

What impressed the Chinese Dimpol immediately was the size of the Filet Mignon... It was thick!!!!

Chef Jojo said he really wanted to offer something special for the sweethearts on Valentines day that instead of the usual gravy or corn, he served the thick steak with Bearnaise Sauce, Caramelized Carrots, and Inoki Mushrooms!

The fatty steak was perfect with the robustness of the Red Wine!

Now dinner is served!

My guy loves steak!

As for me, I love pasta... and steak... and rice... and many more.

Cheers to Chef Jojo! The steak was wonderfully grilled to Medium doneness with a crust of salt of pepper. The chunks of meat went so well with the creamy Bearnaise sauce!

Of course, even if we're already married for 14 years, the Chinese Dimpol and I are still prim and proper when we go on dates. We believe in refinement, proper manners, composure, and etiquette. For a successful relationship, one should still bring out the best in one's self and not be at all shabby.

OH SCREW IT. Delicious food is here!!!! LET'S EAT!!!

GROWWWWWL!!!

Well I DID read somewhere that happy couples get fat together. He he he he he he he he he!

My dinner ended with a very strong cup of coffee. 

That's good so that I'll stay awake all night long for Valentines!!!! (cue in Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On)

The Chinese Dimpol and I had a very nice and relaxing pre-Valentine's date at CRAVINGS. It's great that we were able to enjoy delicious food and drank wine far from the hustle and bustle of what the love season may bring.
