NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE

This early on I will declare that KAMAMESHI HOUSE has given one of our most mind-blowing culinary experiences this year.

Yu-uh! To think that, this restaurant is already decades years old and we have been regular customers before.

But like in any longstanding relationship, there will be ups and downs. There might even be times when you'll lose touch of each other. However, when you all finally "kiss" and "make up", there will definitely be explosions, ka-pows, and just pure awesomeness!

CERTAINLY what happened to us in NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE!

Like I said, my family have been regular diners of this restaurant's old branch in Makati Ave. You might say this was our old "Kimpura" (tee hee). When the branch closed, we lost one of our most favorite Japanese and family restaurants. My Daddyowzers naman found their other Makati branch near Zobel Roxas Avenue too far. That's why it certainly took us a loooooooooong time (perhaps decades) to have a taste of their delicious food once again.

Good thing that during our staycation in MANILA HOTEL, my guys asked where I wanted to eat. And while browsing online, I saw that a branch of NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE was nearby.

I mean, it's not a stone's throw away but it was somehow at this "side."

So with that, "Hallelujah", I was so happy to get a taste again of my beloved KAMAMESHI. The great thing too is that I will now be able to share my love for this family favorite with the kiddies. And let's just say that them liking it, was such an understatement!

Check out our "heaven on earth" dinner in our new (but old) love, NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE!

YOHOO!!!

My only beef with NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE is that they do not have parking spaces. Your helicopter will have to contend with the main road.

If you think that NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE is modern and hip, oh you'll be SO disappointed my dear. The place just screams old-school where time stood still.

It's like the resto in 80's! Ye men!

KAMAMESHI HOUSE sushi bar....

And little ol' me!

(Yep. When looking at the menu, I show the same intensity as somebody studying for the board exams... he he he he)

ORDER UP!!!!!!

And like with any old Japanese resto here in Manila, we are served with complimentary appetizers of dilis and sauteed bean sprouts.

Yummmmmmmmmmm!

ROLL CALL!!!!!

Master Mati and Team Andrei guy.

MEEEEEEH and my little sumpong bunso!

For appetizers, we got 2 orders NEW KAMAMESHI Tekka Maki (P142.00 each).

Each bite had the appropriate amount of fresh tuna and rice with vinegar. Sarap! Mati and I had an order each.

The bunsoy got inggit and had an order of Salmon Maki (P300.00) for himself.

My bunsoy loved Salmon and wiped this out in no time.

I am addicted to Kani Salad whenever I'm in a Japanese restaurant so it's no wonder really that I got one at KAMAMESHI (P215.00)!

There was nothing special about it really but ANYTHING with loads of creamy Japanese mayo is fine with me. HA HA!

For our main entree, we got everyone's favorite, Ebi Tempura (P480.00).

Each huge piece was hot off the fryer and was steaming hot when we all took a bite. He he he he he!

As additional "ulam" we got the NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE Chicken Teppanyaki (P220.00). Sorry that my picture is blurred but really, but this is one dish we'll ALWAYS be ordering from now on. The tender chunks of chicken fillet were so tasty and the vegetables were still crunchy. We also scraped this bowl clean. It was so perfect with the other orders.

Everyone in the family now loves Japanese Tea (yup even Andrei). With that, we had a toast to a great dinner!!!!

And of course, the PIECE DE RESISTANCE in NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE, their Chicken Kamameshi (P330.00). OH MY GULAY THIS IS JUST SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!

Forget about the other Kamameshi pots in their menu, you should only go for the Chicken. The rice is sticky and very flavorful.

When Master Mati took a spoonful, he gasped "OH MY JESUS LORD, THAT IS HEAVEN ON EARTH!!!"

I am not exaggerating but he really said that.

As for Andrei, it's my first time to see him fill up his plate with flavored rice (he would always order plain rice). He happily chomped on his bowl and told me that it was like "Rice Heaven that came from the Philippines."

Ha ha ha ha ha!

If you follow our IG stories in account ERICJAZ FOODIES you would've seen them say all of that. He he he he he he! Yup! I also have video proof!

Our full table....

Our even "fuller" table!

My plate!!! My happy plate from NEW KAMAMESHI HOUSE!

The best part of the Chicken Kamameshi is the socarrat! Seriously, I'm not a "tutong" fan but I love the one from their Chicken Kamameshi. To get all of it, we ask their kind servers to scrape it for us. Winner na winner!

DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our bill!

Not bad for all that food right?

I'm glad that the guys let me choose where we're going to have dinner tonight. Not only did it give me an excuse to "make-up" with this long long family favorite, but it's great that the little lords were able to bask in the gloriousness of their Chicken Kamameshi!

Yay! Happy Birthday to me!
