My kumareng Gail and I have this long standing tradition of treating each other during our birthdays. It's a simple but enjoyable tradition that I always look forward to because besides taking a break from our usual kuripot selves (he he he he he he), my long time kumare and I are able to set aside a date amidst our busy schedule.
At least, sure na that we'll meet up 2 times a year! He he he he he he!
For this year, when my mareng Gail asked where we'll go for my birthday treat, I said that I was fine wherever. My only condition was that it should be a place that I haven't been to before because I wanted to blog it.
With that, she came up with many suggestions but I was torn between Japanese or French food. At first I said Japanese, then French, then later on Japanese again.
FINALLY, my fickle-minded super self really took over and urged me that French was a better choice. With that I sent a very meek (but cute) text asking if she'll bust her pipe if I chose French again. Knowing my good friend, who's always fine with everything, she agreed without a problem. Yun lang when I asked her if I'm magulo na she answered with a "Mejo..."
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! CHE!!!!!!
Well, if that French restaurant meant DUCK AND BUVETTE, I'm sure you'll have a difficult time choosing your favorite Japanese over it!!!!!
DUCK AND BUVETTE!!!!!
DUCK AND BUVETTE has been in Edsa Shangrila Mall already for a loooooong time but it's our first time here.
Prices are not sky-high expensive but still, the Yub and I stayed out of it because we found the restaurant sosy wosy. E you know us, we're loud and irritating. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
I was so curious about it yes but not sure what to order. So when the mareng Gail recommended this because she tried it before, I knew that the time was right.
YAY!!!!!!
We're at DUCK AND BUVETTE!!!
ROLL CALL!!!!
Pareng Jun and Mareng Gail!!!
MEEEEEEH and the Chinese Panget!
Ordering up!!!
Service was fast in DUCK AND BUVETTE!!! Our guy here was so cool pa with taking our pictures.
When mareng Gail asked me what I wanted, I answered seriously "Anything without Duck because I don't like Duck."
Her face dropped and was like "ANO BAAAAAAAH??? Kaya nga DUCK and BUVETTE e!!!"
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
I think being my friend would also make you automatically eligible for a Noble Peace Prize.
First on the table is DUCK AND BUVETTE Grilled Romaine Salad (P250.00)!
I remember watching an episode of Kitchen Nightmares where Chef Gordon Ramsay was ridiculing the Caesar's Salad served to him because it was grilled.
Honestly speaking, I loved this!!! The dressing had the right salty creaminess to it and each bite was more tasty with the chopped Almonds. As for the grilled greens, I liked that slightly charred taste added to the crispy veggies. So yum! Will definitely have this again!
DUCK AND BUVETTE Classic Carbonara Pasta (P405.00)!
The pasta had the right chewiness and was made more appetizing with the savory creaminess of the sauce. Yummm!!!!!
DUCK AND BUVETTE Confit of Pork Belly with Egg and Rice (P390.00)!
Pork skin was crunchy! One bite and you'll know this dish is deadly. He he he he he he!
DUCK AND BUVETTE 8-Hour Angus Briskets (P390.00)!!!!
The beef was tender as it was slow roasted for a number of hours (I don't know for how long..... Tee hee) then served with garlic creamy mashed potatoes!!!
The Yub craved for some Pizza and got the DUCK AND BUVETTE Fennel Sausage and Crispy Pepperoni (P460.00)!
The crust had a nice crunchy chewiness to it. We enjoyed the generous toppings too!
The pizza was served with pepper flakes, salt, and extra basil leaves.
LET'S EATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
ERICJAZ FOODIES with Team Campo in DUCK AND BUVETTE for her early birthday treat to me!
My plate!!! My DUCK AND BUVETTE plate!
Sacre bleu!
DONE!!!!!
Mareng Gail picking up the bill.
Thanks soooooooooooooo much mare!!!
Don't worry, I'll treat you on your birthday in Mcdo...
Ha ha ha ha h ah ha!
After our delicious dinner in DUCK AND BUVETTE we had coffee and more chika in Starbucks!!!!
It's funny lang that for VALENTIMES DAY my Mom received flowers from Kuya Jon, Ate Jojit, her hub, from the Yub, and the little lords. She offered it all to Mama Mary and shared the picture on FB.
When she posted it, she got a lot of comments. I didn't get to read it all though.
While having coffee mareng Gail accused me of ignoring her comment on my post.
Me: What post???
Mareng Gail: In the picture you posted where you have a looooooooooooooooooooot of flowers!
Me: That's not me, that's my MOM!!!
BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Kaya pala when we checked it, her comment was soooo casual and FAMILIAR (normally she would have "po" and be very polite). HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! It was so "YO! SUP??" ang dating. Ha ha ha ha!
Mareng Gail was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!" and wanted to erase it because she felt so embarrassed -- she didn't want to seem disrespectful to my Mom. I insisted that she leave it there na lang because it was so funny.
I told my Mom afterwards and she said she saw it na pala but didn't react because she knew that it was a case of mistaken identity. He he he he he! She didn't want to tell mareng Gail na because she might feel bad.
See how much of a lady my Mom is?
If this early treat is a sign of things to come for my birthday, then I am POSITIVE I will have uber fun celebrations that will surely be full of love!!!
DUCK AND BUVETTE was not as snobby wobby as I thought it would be. We really enjoyed the food, the service, and the embiyenz that I will treat my family here soon fosho!!!!!!!
Thanks again mareng Gail and pareng Jun!!!!!!! Love you guys SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!!!!!
Mwah mwah!!!!
