UKOKKEI RAMEN RON (LUNCH)

Holy Week was done and after our long trip from Cavite (yes to us that is long already), my mini-family and I were famished. So where to eat? Most of the restaurants were closed because of the Lenten Season. But we wanted to end this vacation with a food bang that even if we were all hungry, we found our inner strength to go on and drive around Makati City (our way going home).

And VOILA!

Good things come to those who wait...
Patience is a virtue...
If you build it (an appetite), it will come...

Oh you know what I'm getting at here.

As we hoped, prayed, and looked, we landed at what I may consider the "treasure chest" among restaurants because it is one of my favorites and yes, it was open during this Lenten Holiday.

UKOKKEI RAMEN RON! WOHOO!

You have pleased us yet again...

UKOKKEI RAMEN RON was in full operations that day and many servers were out helping up with the orders.

I guess a lot of Ramen lovers got wind of it as the place was fairly full during the Lenten Season with other hungry diners slurping on their noodles.

We were so fortunate to get seats after only a short wait and we were able to settle ourselves in our favorite area of the restaurant.

Now I have ate in UKOKKEI RAMEN RON for many times already and never have I felt the urban legend of "witches" for servers and "trolls" for chefs. Waiters were always smiling and prompt with requests. I have also met the "Ramen Nazi" before and he was actually shy and not arrogant as I thought he would be.

Or maybe they have become nicer in time?

We were regular diners of this restaurant which served Ramen way before it was fashionable (SEE HERE). And though it was not yet serving my favorite Tan Tan Mien Ramen (as it was only cooked up during dinner service), we have made a tasty (and more affordable) discovery with their LUNCH menu!

UKOKKEI RAMEN RON lunch set!

This is such a big bang for your buck ain't it?

These UKOKKEI RAMEN RON sets are not just complete meals. The serving and selection of food is enough for THE HULK.

That is, if the alter ego of Dr. Banner likes carbo loading. He he he he!

These UKOKKEI RAMEN RON lunch sets cannot be shared though and should be consumed by one consenting adult (tee hee). I asked if I could share it with my wee son who eats like an adorable canary and they said yes.

So wohooo for that.

Ate Jit and Master Mati!

My Chinese Adonis and the little Canary boy... he he he he!

Even if there were many Ramen joints sprouting up here and there, UKOKKEI RAMEN RON still tops Mati's list. He would give out such a happy yell whenever I say we will having dinner there.

And everytime we go to UKOKKEI RAMEN RON, he would still attempt to lick these large noodles! Ha ha ha ha!

Kidding! I put him up to this. Cos that's just the kind of mother that I am. Tee hee!

My sister and Mati shared one order and decided on the UKOKKEI RAMEN RON Karamiso (P360.00) since my son felt like slurping on something spicy.

Don't let the picture fool you. One you poke your bowl of Ramen, the noodles will just spring out like a Jack in the Box!

Even if I was utterly disappointed that the Tan Tan Mien was not yet served during that time, I braved up and just ordered the UKOKKEI RAMEN RON lunch set A (P380.00). I was not really a fan of the shoyu and shio broth so I just got the miso Ramen with an extra serving of spicy Japanese chili paste.

My UKOKKEI RAMEN RON lunch set comes with this bowl of fair tasting macaroni salad

Plus a cup of their special Japanese Rice! YUM!

The lunch set also includes Gyoza but my husband wolfed them all down before taking a picture. Ugh such a caveman... A Chinese caveman.

Tee hee!

Whenever I have Ramen I ALWAYS (take note of the scary all-caps) order some Tamago (P40.00) as extra topping. I love mixing the yolk into the rich broth for an extra layer of awesomeness!

I'm not really good at "instagramming" and it takes a lot of effort for me to control my appetite in order to take a picture. My husband, the devoted person that he is in catching unflattering pics of me, took a photo of me in action.

I don't get why I was biting my lips though. Maybe I was just covering my false teeth... I don't know. He he he he!

YUM! I have a new favorite in UKOKKEI RAMEN RON and it IS their miso bowl of noodles!!!

Some may find the broth too oily for their taste but this UKOKKEI RAMEN RON gem is just perfect for me. The soup was so rich and hearty that I may need an extra order of rice for this! He he he!

Uuuuy... Somebodys boxers are peeking...

ERICJAZ FOODIES, with the kids and ate, at UKOKKEI RAMEN RON!

Since our UKOKKEI RAMEN RON gyoza's were wiped out in a flash, we ordered another set. Mati liked every bite of it as the meat was so juicy and tasty!

As for me, I diligently slurped and smacked on my noodles...

Until....

I was UKOKKEI-d!

Done!

Our UKOKKEI RAMEN RON bill!

As I said above, many Ramen hubs may have sprouted here and there but it's still GRRRREAT to go back to the old favorites. I'm glad that with UKOKKEI RAMEN RON I could find something worth my appetite for the whole day!

LET'S EAT!!!!
