THE YAPPY BUNCH were in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS and after a night of eating, chatting, and listening to soulful renditions of "Boulevard", we woke up to a hot and delicious buffet breakfast!

While we were in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS to attend a wedding of my officemate's daughter and to have a birthday staycation, we had dinner in their Country Club with some of my TAPE Inc. friends.

TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS - THE COUNTRY CLUB

When I got word that my officemate, Tita Flory, will be treating us for an overnight staycation in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS for my boithday AND for the wedding of her daughter, I knew that major research was in order.

Of course, I should check out the location, the resort facilities, the rooms, and the activities offered in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS. But more importantly, I should also study AND investigate the places where  we could eat there.

He he he he he! OF COURSE! Food is ALWAYS of the essence to us!

At first I really thought that TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS was a resort with one cafe or restaurant by the poolside. In turns out, this popular "membership only" destination in TAGAYTAY was like an exclusive community where there are a LOT of places to eat in and many clubhouses!

Yowza! This is like a staycation jackpot!!!!!

So after surfing online, I tried my best to plot which places to go to when get there. But even after numerous hours, of studying, researching, and investing, there were a LOT of choices that I cannot make up my mind. With that, one question still remained for us when we finally got to TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS....

THE YAPPY BUNCH were in TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS to attend the wedding of the daughter of my officemate, Tita Flory. At the same time, she treated my little family to a full weekend of fun (and cold weather) as her birthday gift to me!

Yey! Generosity and "galantry" rules!!!!! He he he he he he!

So it's our second day at TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS and we are still as excited as ever. If we spend Sunday even with just half the enjoyment that we had the day before, we would still be so happy.

And you know, at the rate that we're going and the hype that we're feeling, anything is possible! Yup! Especially that we're in a place where there are a gazillion and more things to do at somewhere called....

Wow! It's not everyday that we're greeted with the 8th Wonder of the World before brushing our teeth!

TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS STAYCATION (PART ONE)

It was my birthday weekend sometime last February and usually THE YAPPY BUNCH would go somewhere for a fun getaway to celebrate. However, it was also timely that the wedding of my officemate's daughter fell on that Sunday in Tagaytay. So all plans of going to Baguio, Subic, or Albuquerque (he he he he), were cancelled. Of course, I was happy to attend the wedding (I LOVE WEDDINGS!), it's just that we would have to leave our little wawa boys behind.

But then, my officemate Tita Flory, loved me so much (well I AM very lovable I know) and said that since she will be booking rooms for some of her close friends and family in Tagaytay, she will treat our little family for what was supposed to be my birthday weekend. At first I was concerned that it would be too much for her and how the little lords may inconveniently add more for her head count. The Chinese Adonis and I were really going to attend even if it's just the two of us. But she really insisted and said that everything and everyone was taken cared for.

So YEY!!!!! My birthday weekend was set and guess where Tita Flory graciously and generously treated THE YAPPY BUNCH?

ANTON AND MAIKA'S WEDDING IN ALTA VERANDA

In the middle of February, THE YAPPY BUNCH drove to Laguna to attend the wedding of dear Anton and Maika in St. Benedict Church. The two lawyers may be what you may call a "future power couple" because not only are they so passionate with work but they are so crazy in love with each other. I came to know the two because the beautiful bride is the daughter of my dear friend and officemate from TAPE Inc., Tita Josie. For almost a year we've been hearing a lot regarding the preparations about the wedding but we didn't mind because we couldn't be happier for her. After a year of preparations, the day finally came and THE YAPPY BUNCH were bright and early in church....

And that's when the love and fun began!

For Anton and Maika's wedding, it was important for us to be in early in church because Mati was part of the entourage as Junior Groom's man. Since Tita Josie and her family will be staying at SEDA HOTEL NUVALI  for the weekend, we decided to book a room there as well so that we're sure to be prompt come wedding time.

Of course, that was not the only reason. The YAPPY BUNCH checked in for a family staycation at SEDA HOTEL NUVALI  because we were craving for some much needed R and R plus F and F -- Rest and Relaxation PLUS Fun and Food Tripping.

MAMA LOU'S AGAIN

During our 2016 staycation in SEDA HOTEL NUVALI, the Chinese Adonis and I were thinking of where to eat for dinner. As what we do every time during our family getaways, we wanted to dress up and eat somewhere nice with the little lords that had delicious food but won't rob our pockets.

With that, I suddenly remembered the cozy and warm restaurant named MAMA LOU'S that served awesome Italian food!

The last time we were in MAMA LOU'S we were with friends. This time it's just going to be THE YAPPY BUNCH and we were so looking forward to having an intimate dinner together.

Since it would be "just us" we could:

Have a private "family only" event.
Be able to share our scandalous secrets while eating.
Release all the burps and gasses as much as we'd like.
Not have to share our food.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

That turned real gross and mean now didn't it?

But yes, the food at MAMA LOU'S was so unforgettable that evil thoughts might enter your head just so that you could have a taste of their OMAYGAD good dishes. And even if we were faced with the prospects of choosing from a long list of restaurants in the vast area of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, MAMA LOU'S food will make you ALWAYS go back for more.

And that is what we did!

The restaurant has been awarded as one of Philippine Tatler's Best Restaurants in 2014 so you know that they're really serving delicious food here!

LZM RESTAURANT

Whenever we have an out of town trip on the South side, the Chinese Adonis would always request that we eat in a restaurant that served Bulalo. He really doesn't care whatever the occasion   or wherever the location is as long as it had that boiling rich beef soup with fall off the bone meat and a lot of marrow.

So for second staycation weekend in SEDA HOTEL NUVALI, my husband again asked, no pleaded, that we have some Bulalo for lunch. The little lords and I were not really fans of the dish but we agreed. Well... it's not that I don't like Bulalo but it's more like I could only enjoy the soupy dish if I had it with chili and fish sauce. But, if I do make that combination, it's extra rice galore for me -- not advisable for somebody who's watching her Coke-bottle figure (blech).

I told the Chinese Adonis that I was fine with Bulalo but my only request was that we eat in a new place because I wanted to post it in my silly little foodie blog.

And with that, we ended up in LZM RESTAURANT!

We were in Solenad Nuvali and LZM was there quietly and unassuming beside other fast food restaurants.

SEDA HOTEL NUVALI STAYCATION 2016 (PART TWO)

Once again THE YAPPY BUNCH are in SEDA HOTEL NUVALI for a family staycation and we are having an awesome time!

Good morning Sta. Rosa Laguna!!!

At the weekend of our staycation, there was a scheduled marathon in the area. So there were a lot of runners who checked in at the hotel.

SEDA HOTEL NUVALI STAYCATION 2016 (PART ONE)

I think I have made no secret how much we love STAYCATIONS. Even if we also love staying at home, there is something about saving up and making an effort to have more happy memories as a family. My parents played a big factor on this because I remember how much my Dad always planned getaways for us, even if he was so busy with work, that it definitely added to my fun and happy childhood.

Fast forward to February in 2016 and THE YAPPY BUNCH was invited to attend a wedding in Laguna. Master Mati was going to be part of the entourage as the Junior Groomsman so it was important that we were there early. I learned the families of the bride will be staying in SEDA HOTEL NUVALI that I thought, here goes an opportunity to have a YAPPY BUNCH staycation again because we had so much fun in our last stay. I was more looking forward to our vacation there this year though because this time it's going to be just us! We could dance naked in the poolside if we wanted to!

Well.... We cannot really do THAT but at least nobody we know will be embarrassed of us! He he he he he he he!

So I told my friend to book us a room also and I saved up for another weekend fun at SEDA HOTEL NUVALI. In the end, we were all glad that we did because we had again another unforgettable family bonding experience in the beauty of Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Yep! Even if we didn't dance naked in the pool, we all still had a riot!

TOPMUD GETOGETHER IN STA. ROSA LAGUNA

During the last holiday weekend, THE YAPPY BUNCH went to Sta. Rosa Laguna to meet up with the Chinese Adonis' childhood friends for a much overdue getogether!

Some are original members of the group (since they are a co-ed school) while some are the pesky ex-girlfriends... LIKE ME.

I love Yub's childhood barkada and always have the grandest time with them. Although we don't meet as much as we want to (because of busy family schedules and some live faraway) we are always in touch with them. Now when we DO have a getogether, it is always a certified blast!

ROVILIAZ

One weekend, the YAPPY BUNCH traveled to the South to meet up with BGP Marian, Manong Fred, dear Donna, and Kuya Mike for some great food and good times.

Now this  may also be known as....

ROVILIAZ!!

ROVILIAZ is this cozy restaurant in Betterliving Paranaque that serves delicious Filipino comfort food at very reasonable prices.

Manong Fred says that sometimes you need to make an advance order of ROVILIAZ' barbecues because they easily run out of stock come night time. 

LINGUINI FINI (OUR VALENTINE'S DATE 2016)

For our VALENTIME'S DATE this 2016 the Chinese Adonis and I celebrated it differently from how we do it in other years. But of course, one thing remains true to our date and that is engorging ourselves not on each other but with SUPERKADUPER OMAYGASH delicious food....

And for this year, our happy discovery was....

AN UNFORGETTABLE FILINVEST TENT WEDDING!

I recently attended the marriage ceremony of two people I work with and let me just say, that it was so different. Pleasantly different if I may say so!

Well for one, their wedding was very, very, very simple. There were no games, no super long speeches, and no ultimo extended picture taking sessions. You would think that for the status of the bride and groom, everything would be over the top shows and performances. NOOOOH! In fact, besides the laughter and the love, I felt that the newly weds just wanted to get it over with so they could proceed to their honeymoon. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha! Well that's what the groom DID say!

Attending this wedding is a relief because it felt like going to a traditional wedding that I was so used to before. Save for a few song numbers, everything went by so fast. There was definitely not a boring moment. Everybody was just laughing and having fun all the way.

And of course, since this is really a food blog, I'm sure you are wondering what the food was all about?

THE METROPOLITAN CLUB INC., (MATI'S BDAY 2016)

When Mati celebrated his birthday this 2016, we thought everything was done when we had a staycation at DISCOVERY PRIMEA. But then, his lovely ninang Marian invited THE YAPPY BUNCH for some Sunday swimming and lunching at THE METROPOLITAN CLUB in Makati that we were so excited to accept!

Yes the "party" for my master Mati is not yet over.

And we were with superkaduper special people to celebrate it with!!!!

We love METRO CLUB because it was so near where we live. If there's no traffic, we're there in just 5 minutes!

What we love about METRO CLUB too is that whenever we're here, we always have the place all to ourselves.

BANAPPLE (AYALA TRIANGLE)

It was still Mati's 2016 birthday celebration and we are having a blast with Team Virrey during our staycation in DISCOVERY PRIMEA. Now what could make our weekend MORE enjoyable?

Why, eating delicious food for dinner of course!

And THAT, thankfully was beautifully addressed by the birthday boy Mati when he chose BANAPPLE to be our venue that Saturday night!

WOHOO! Great choice master Mati! BANAPPLE is one of ERICJAZ FOODIES' favorite as well!!!!

You would understand our joy once you get a taste of their hot entrees, luscious desserts, and chug-a-lug worthy drinks. Besides that, each order of their hot platters and drool worthy desserts are all priced reasonably and so acceptable to "quorifutes" like us.

Sniff.. sniff... I'm so proud of my son. I have taught him well... Sniff... sniff!

Oh and just in case you didn't understand "quorifutes" is french for KURIPOT.

Okay fine. Let's make the term less harsh and be more politically correct: We are just "extravagantly-challenged".

Believe me, the prices may be "stingy friendly" but the food from BANAPPLE is something worth feeling lavish about!

We loved it there because the kiddies could run around in their park on that cool night!

THE YAPPY BUNCH is celebrating Mati's birthday for 2016 and part of that fun-fest is our staycation in DISCOVERY PRIMEA with our very good friends, Team Virrey. 

We just finished dinner at BANAPPLE, so it's time to go back to our lovely room in DISCOVERY PRIMEA!

DISCOVERY PRIMEA STAYCATION (PART ONE)

When Mati recently celebrated his 12th birthday, we had to split his weeklong celebration during the weekends because he had classes. As much as my little guy was very excited to eat in all the restaurants that he listed, he understood that he cannot stay out late since he had to wake up scandalously early the next day.

Oh yes. Obviously I'm not a morning person. Hence, the drama. He he he he he!

I'm very grateful too that I have a very understanding Master Mati because my promised birthday staycation to him has been cancelled and moved to the next weekend thrice. Even if he was already tremendously excited for it, he just made a face (with matching pout) and a short nod.

And you know what? Everything turned so right in the end because upon stepping in DISCOVERY PRIMEA HOTEL, my boy was so happy! We may have moved, cancelled, and rescheduled our weekend staycation in this new hotel in Makati City, but believe me, one look and you'll rave about how this is indeed "worth the wait".
