OUR HOLY WEEK IN CAVITE (PART TWO)

THE YAPPY BUNCH went to Cavite recently for the family's long time tradition of participating the town's religious procession. We've been doing this for 39 years now (I'm sure I mentioned that already but I'm just dang proud of it! He he he he he) and there's no stopping us anytime soon.

In fact we could do this till infinity! Yup! No endgame for us!!! Tee heee!!!!!

Check out part 2 of our Holy Week in Cavite. I know it might be the same thing over and over again but I feel that we still made wonderful memories this 2019 that deserves to be recorded in my little online diary.

Yup! We have also recreated the picture above every year!

Woke up late (as always... ha ha ha ha ha). Good thing I was just in time for brekky.

Our breakfast spread.... Or what's left of it for the late comers.

CHE!

My breakfast plate!

YUMMMMM!!!!!

Later on, the breakfast table got full. As usual, the meal took longer than expected because of the fun convo.

After breakfast, we went to the cemetery to visit Daddy.

Hay Daddy! I still miss you more everyday!

It's just surreal to think that you were with us before and I didn't hug you 24/7.

Well I should have. Huhu!

We prayed the rosary for him and stayed a bit.

We went back home and see our karo waiting for us.

Since this was already set up, there's not much left to do on Fridays but go around and eat. He he he he he!

My favorite activities!!!

Saw our GAT'S staff at the back shucking some Talaba!

Wohoo!! So excited for this later.

And just like that, it's time to eat again!

Our Friday spread!

He he he he he he!  Those who are fasting need not join us for lunch.

TALABA!!!

I could eat this all!!!!!!!!!!

Grilled Tilapias and Milkfish!

There's the Bangus!!!

And our favorite for Fridays, Kare Kare!!!!!!!

AUGHHHHHHHHHH! This was sooo awesome!

Thanks for cooking this all up Marie and Lester!

Now it's time to dig in!

So much perfection in this picture don't you think?

Everybody's busy!

And after everyone's got up, I'm still eating!

The Yub treated us to some ice cream for dessert. This was sooo perfect for the hot weather.

Thanks Yub!

Yun lang, he got so busog that he slept at our couch!

Tsk tsk tsk!

The boys relaxing and eating ice cream.

HUY ANDREI NAKATAAS PA PAA MO!!!

Come night time, we got out again for the procession.

We got word that the Parish priest got peeved because the start of the procession was 6:00pm but everyone mistook their sign as 8:00pm. Ha ha ha ha ha!

Sorry!!

Good thing we're not the only ones late.

Cousins unite!

And finally it starts!

There's our karo behind the marching band.

This time, it's Andrei and Rogee (my cousin) who pulled the karo.

Andrei was so happy to do this. He asked again and again if he could pull the karo.

He really took this task seriously.

Well most of the time. Ha ha ha ha ha!

It's really my eldest brother who pulls the karo on Fridays. But he agreed to Andrei's fervent wish. He stayed na lang on the side to assist his inaanak.

After the first half, he changed spots with Rogee!

Andrei stayed on and offered this sacrifice.

The family walked at the back and prayed the rosary.

Next year we'll try to do that too... He he he he he he...

Some streets were tight.

While some had too much space.

It was still a great walk under the moonlit sky in the province.

And I'm always proud at how our karo would be all beautiful and bright.

And we're done!

"Good job" Andrei and karo!!! For us, you're the best among all the other floats.

When we got home, Andrei got all of our candles and lit it all up.

And then it's time to take it all down again.

After procession dinner -- sweet spaghetti, egg sandwich, pizza, and juice!!!!

Some of Mom's relatives dropped by to see the procession.

After I finished my whole plate, it's EXPLORINS again for us!

Walking while chatting and watching out for dog poop. He he he he!

This time, we went to to the town's 7-11 for some slushies!

We loved our walk home as well because we just laughed and joked around.

Look at how empty the streets are. You could almost play "patintero" in the middle of the road!

Walking and walking...

We also passed by the Aglipayan church to offer prayers.

There were teenagers from the church organization holding vigil for Jesus.

Outside, Andrei tried to show his ate Cio that ridiculous dance that was going viral.

When we got home, the oldies watched the movie Major League!

While the kiddies played Go Fish with their Tita Jojit!

The next day, somebody slept in again.

We woke him up because it's time for our last brekky here in Cavite.

I just love breakfast food and THESE are my top favorites!

SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!

Tuyoooooooo!

Fried Egggg!!!!

Of course, don't forget the garlic rice and kamatis!

Let's EAT!

MY PLATE!

YUMMMMMMMMMMM!

Afterwards we all packed up and ready to go!

Awwwww... Hampy was sad.

Iwan kaya kita???

Syempre while we were packing the bunsoy baby was just finishing his plate. Such a slow eater.

While Andrei was eating, Mati was having some serious convo with the boys in the fam.

Later on as Mommy did the final check ups and bilins, my family each had their own little chatting corner.

My Kuyas were sharing videos....

Same goes with Cio and Andrei. The two were besties and often sat together.

Andrei also gave his Kuya Miguel a hug and said he'll miss him. Awwww....

Mommy and some of the Gat's staff.

Good job everyone!! Next year again... He he he he he!

I said good bye to Nash also, he's the bantay of the house. He he he he he!

Bye house!!!

Before going home, we passed by our usual stopover in Cavite.

We offered prayers to the miraculous Mama Mary of the Mediatrix.

Isn't she beautiful?

My Mom and Dad were strong devotees of Mother Mary and we always pay our respects to this miraculous image of her.

Andrei had his own miraculous experience with this Mama Mary.

And then it's really time to go!

If you're looking for the Andrei bunsoy he rode with his tita Jojit!!!

GRRRRRRRRR!

For lunch, Mommy treated the family to CHILI'S!!!!!!!!

YUMMMM....

Blog post coming soon!

Ate Jit treated us to some churros and coffee afterwards.

And then we're finally home.... Our doggies were so happy to see us tuloy palakihan sila ng dila. Ha ha ha ha h haa!

Finished with another year of Holy Week in our beloved Cavite!

We're thankful for another opportunity to observe the Lenten Season via this 39-year tradition with our family. I'm happy that amidst our busy schedule, the family always set aside many days to continue on with this religious custom turned family reunions that was started by my Dad.

Till next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't get tired of reading  it ah???

SO.

THERE.
