ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT DIMSUM PLUS MORE IN NEW WORLD HOTEL MAKATI

One Saturday, we were invited to try out the new EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN offering JASMINE restaurant in NEW WORLD HOTEL MAKATI.

Wow! NEW WORLD HOTEL!!! This Makati classic has been part of our many HOTEL HOPPING gimiks during the Christmas season where we would always hang out in the bar listening to music. This time, not only will we be eating in their popular restaurant, but we will also be feasting on dimsum! One of our favorites!!!

So the Yub and I excitedly drove over to NEW WORLD HOTEL all hungry and delirious because we haven't eaten breakfast. We promised each other that even though we were starving, we will control our appetites because we will only permit our tummies to be ravaged during the Christmas and New Year feasts.

What happened? Let's just say that as usual, vows were broken and we completely "yolo-ed" our diets.  Still, there were no regrets -- we did eat all and savored all that we can!

So 2020 may be ending at what may be the most different year for all of us. That's why I'm happy that there are restaurants such as JASMINE of NEW WORLD HOTEL that now offer their exceptional dishes at special prices to go along with our new "situation." In this way, even if the overall experience may be different from what we were all used to, the taste and meal itself will be the manifestation that life is still GOOD!

Yohooo!

We're in NEW WORLD HOTEL MAKATI!

We proceeded to JASMINE restaurant at the second floor.

Inside, the elegance of classic oriental beauty will greet you.

The restaurant practices social distancing in the spacing of their tables and seating.

There's me!!!!!!!!!

JASMINE place setting.

They provided small envelopes for our face masks.

For P1,088, JASMINE offers eat-all-you-can premium dimsum for lunch from Thursdays to Sundays. On Saturdays, they also have it for dinner!

P1,088 net?? That's a great deal!

You will be given a pamphlet to check your orders.

Their "eat-all-you-can" offering is done by order for safety purposes.

In the pamphlet they also offered their other special dishes that may not be included in the buffet but was still worth a try.

And we're complete!!!

ROLL CALL!

And us!!!!

Parang I need a nose lift talaga. He he he he!

Food is coming kaya it's time to ready our "battle gear" -- our dipping sauces! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Here are some of the dishes we ordered and LOVED!

JASMINE Crispy Beancurd!

I'm not really too fond of Tofu but the Crispy Bean Curd was a definite game changer. Crispy on the outside while soft and fleshy on the inside. Each bite-sized piece was dusted with savory spices that also had that hint of heat into it. Yummers.

The JASMINE Barbecued Pork Puffs was an early favorite of my table companions. The crust was flaky and buttery while the insides were filled with chopped pork in a sweet barbecue sauce. The Yub ordered another plate of this and wiped it all out too!

JASMINE Radish Cake!

Plain and simple but with a nice crusty outside for that appetizing bite. Still worth that tummy space.

Of course when you say "Dimsum" you should never fail to have the popular  "Pork Siomai." In JASMINE, we quickly ordered 2 or 3 baskets of these because we know that this is a sure fire hit in the world of dimsum! Ha ha ha ha!

And we were right!

For those who want to keep their dimsum session "meat-free" you could go for the Steamed Pumpkin Dumplings!

JASMINE Shrimp Hakaw!!

Sushmeh, we got about 5 baskets of this!!! Each piece was plump and filled with fresh shrimp!!!! So good we just have to have MORE!

JASMINE Beef Balls!!!! Not always a popular choice but I like it. For me, it's a healthier alternative to the usual steak. Ha ha ha ha ha!

JASMINE Spare Ribs with Tausi and Chicken Feet!

These are our regular orders in any Dimsum restaurant so we eagerly attacked these two with famished fierceness!

We were supposed to put down our pencils from ordering all that food but it was strongly recommended to us to try the Xiao Long Bao and buns!

Yohoo! The Xiao Long Baos were indeed a must-mark-on-your-menu because they truly deserve the recommendation!

Super flavorful broth from the juices of the fragrant ground pork. This was all steamed and encased in the thin (yet strong) wrapper with that hint "al dente-ness" that I really liked. If it was not so hot from the steamer I would've popped one or two in my mouth. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

AND unlike the other popular restaurants that offer this as their specialty, JASMINE'S Xiao Long Baos don't need the soy sauce with vinegar and ginger to be more enjoyable. It's oh so fine on its own!

In the mood to mix and match something else with your Dimsum? You could also go for their main meals like this Honey Roasted Barbecued Pork!

The meat was so tender and juicy while the sweet and soy flavors of the barbecue sauce just bursts from it. One bite and I was like "UY SARAP!!!"

JASMINE Salted Egg Fish and Sweet and Sour Pork!

My favorite is the JASMINE Kung Pao Chicken because I enjoyed the tender chicken and crunchy vegetables in sweet spicy sauce along with the nuts.

Of course, I need to have my daily dose of veggies so these steamed Bok Choi with garlic was a perfect fit.

For a more savory choice, there's the very satisfying Braised Bean Curd with Mushrooms.

When in an All-You-Can-Eat restaurant, we'd always skip carbs so as not to waste "tummy space." For me, that's bah humbug especially when you're looking at a piping hot bowl of Yang Chow Fried Rice that cries "Kanin pa lang ulam na."

I don't know about you but this still went so well without dimsum!

JASMINE Braised E Fu Noodles with Vegetables!

Want to steer clear of oils and cholesterol? Order the Congee! Growing up we would always have our Dimsum with Congee that just sight of it already gave me delicious Sunday morning memories. The mild flavors and right gooeyness of my Chicken Congee and Century Egg certainly complemented some of meaty dimsum! He he he he he he!

My  first plate!!! My artsy-but-really-wipe-it-all-out plate!!!!!

My second plate!!!!!

I'm getting full at this point but whaddaheck!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Let's all talk, eat, and eat, and eat, and eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ERICJAZ FOODIES with other hungry people in JASMINE!!!!

For dessert, we tried out the Mango Sago and the Carrot Cake!!

Even if I was already full, I scraped my Mango Sago till the last drop.

BURP!!!!

Great seeing mare again!

When in NEW WORLD HOTEL don't forget to have a picture by their beautiful staircase!

And their tall tree!

Mga busog na kaya abot tenga ang tawa!

If you're looking for a place for an intimate gathering with family and friends (remember social distancing), check out THE UNLIMITED PREMIUM DIMSUM BUFFET at JASMINE in New World Hotel Makati.
