OUR HOTEL HOPPING TO WELCOME 2020

Every year, THE YAPPY BUNCH follows the tradition of my family going on hotel hopping on New Year's Eve. (Yep. We've been doing this in the 80s pa -- waaaaaay before hotel lounging and parties were a thing in the Metro.)

When the kiddies were younger we would really do our hotel hopping on December 31. However, hotels would usually have  New Year countdowns that it's difficult for us to get a table (take note, difficult, not impossible. We were still able to get a table because the kiddies were cute {we used them...  ha ha ha ha}. Yun lang our stay is limited {aka baka dumating na yung nagpareserve} so we had to go din after 30 minutes or an hour). Because of that, we decided to just do our Hotel Hopping after Christmas in hoping that some decorations were still up.

Last year we were not able to do our Hotel Hopping Tradition because we got sooooo busy. That's why for this year, we really made a point to go out for this (to think that we came pa from Antipolo). We're surprised that even the little guys were up for it (usually they'd sulk and ask to go home). So yeah it's a sign. It's time to carry on with the tradition.

Check out our fun Hotel Hopping (or hop) tradition in welcoming the year 2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're going HOTEL HOPPING!!!!!

But before that, we had a Mcdo dinner because, well, HOTEL FOOD could be expensive! Ha ha ha ha! Bakit ba???

Maybe we'll order fries or light snacks later though.

First stop was in GRAND HYATT MANILA!

The Yub decided that we should try out the BGC area. So while looking around this became our first hotel.

Elevator shot!

The GRAND HYATT elevator was a bit small and dark.

Going to the lobby!

The GRAND HYATT lobby was breath-taking especially with their high ceiling.

I'm glad they still have their Christmas tree set up and towering over the guests. It was beautiful!

Picture picture!!!

Yun lang, against the light!

As you go around the big space of a lobby, you'll be serenaded by the music coming from live performers on a balcony.

Going up!

GRAND HYATT MANILA Lounge!

Not too shabby!

It had that certain chic library-cafe feel into it. Nice!!!!

Yub chose a table where we could see the singers.

Ordering up!!!!

Excited for our first stop.

GRAND HYATT Table set up.

That's a real candle!

Orders for the night were a glass of GRAND HYATT MANILA Artisan Beer. It was served with candied nuts.

Master Mati had a Berry Iced Tea.

While I got a cup of coffee.

The bunsoy Andrei didn't want anything and just volunteered to mix my coffee for me. Awwwww.... So sweet my baby!

Op... op... Somebody wanted to try Yub's beer.

ERICJAZ FOODIES with our little guys in GRAND HYATT MANILA!!!!!

After the set, the lobby singers said hi and we said thank you for playing our requests ("Yesterday" and "Till There Was You").

Done! Now onto the next.

Yub and the Andrei got curious with this GRAND HYATT MANILA version for ants.

Mirror shot!

Hala! My guy is so big na!

Up next, SHANGRI-LA FORT!

Enter...

We parked in the basement and there was a nice elevator area for the guests.

ELEVATOR SHOT!!!

I liked SHANGRI-LA HOTEL's elevator more because it was spacious, had enough lighting, and smelled great!

In SHANGRI-LA FORT there was a shopping area connected to the hotel.

The SHANGRI-LA FORT lobby was not as majestic as GRAND HYATT's but still, it still had that grandness to it.

Yay to their Christmas set up!

There was another mini-tree going to the cafe.

SHANGRI-LA FORT Lounge!

The lounge had that fantasy royal like interiors and was dark for that private/romantic effect.

Too bad they don't have lounge singers on Sundays. The Yub was a bit disappointed.

Ordering up!

My 3 super handsome dates for tonight!

To think that when I was in high school I was "boyless"!!!

(Pero nagka-boypren naman ako. Ha ha ha ha!)

The bunsoy Andrei and Master Mati said they still wanted to watch Field of Dreams when we get home that's why for our second stop, they ordered coffee!

Andrei had a Mocchaccino and felt so grown up! I let him put sugar and cream on it himself.

(Yun lang after the second teaspoon of sugar I said "Huy!" na).

The Yub and I shared an order of Green Apple and Lychee Lemonade!

This was sweet but had a nice fruity sour tone into it. The flavors were quite strong though so the Yub and I added water.

Ahhhh.... Perfect! So refreshing!!!!!

ERICJAZ FOODIES with the little guys in SHANGRI-LA FORT!

Le bill!

The SHANGRI-LA FORT lounge was bigger and we enjoyed the club feel of the place. Yun lang sayang there's no live music on Sundays. We'll take note of that next time.

Outside the cafe the Yub and I saw this beautiful set up made of fresh flowers that we asked the bunsoy to take our picture with it.

Syempre, THIS is what he did! Ha ha ha ha ha!

He took another selfie while walking. Ha ha ha ha! So cute.

As we were going to the parking lot, we saw this art structure and I told the bunsoy I'll take a picture of him there.

He said that it's better to have this "Where's Andrei?" picture.

Could you see him??? Ha ha ha ha!

After this we decided to go home since it was already past 11:00pm and we're going to watch FIELD OF DREAMS pa (I have work also on Monday). I guess next time, we should start early! He he he he he!

At least we were able to do a HOP! Ha ha ha ha!!

===================

I'm glad we were able to do our traditional Hotel Hopping this year. Before, the kiddies were in  costume and would explore the hotels in awe. So it was more like a playdate for us. Now they were more grown up and we were all like hanging around in the lobby like we were a barkada. It's a different kind of fun but it's just how I remember it with my Dad. Parang tripping ang dating.

As long as we can, the Yub and I will continue this tradition with our little guys. It's great that they said that they enjoyed our night too. Yun lang they said it would be better if I'd let them use their gadgets in peace.

NO. WAY.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Next year we'll start earlier so that we'll have more hotels to cover.

Till thenssssssssssssss!

OH.

YEAH.
