DO YOU DARE -- BREAKOUT PHILIPPINES

It has already been a tradition for THE YAPPY BUNCH that on the last day of the little lords examinations, the Yub and I will fetch them and take them out for lunch in their restaurant of choice. However for their first quarterly exams, the Yub and I thought of something different: we'll go for one of the Mystery Rooms in BREAKOUT PHILIPPINES.

I checked out a post from OUR AWESOME PLANET and saw that BREAKOUT PHILIPPINES was offering DO YOU DARE -- a room which offered Game Show fun at P2,000.00/4pax. For that month they had a promo in connection with the OAP blog that gave us P500 off for the game.

P1,500.00 for a different kind of family experience? That's a pretty good deal!

So we paid online and made reservations for a slot in the afternoon that Saturday. We were all excited because it was indeed a different kind of "tripping" for us.

And you know what? It surely was!!!

With panget results. GRRRRRR!

You'll see why LATER.

>:(

DO YOU DARE???

As always, we picked up the little lords from school in their last day.

If you're looking for the Androse, he felt sick and the Yub fetched him earlier to take home. We just went back for his Kuya.

When asked if he could still do the DO YOU DARE, he cried and insisted that he'll go. He's been excited for this for soooo long.

We were supposed to eat out but since Andrei had to rest before doing the DO YOU DARE, we ate at home. I made a simple Kimchi Fried Rice for them to match our ulam. He he he he he he!

After eating, we immediately went to BREAKOUT PHILIPPINES in Mandaluyong!

Rates!

Usually BREAKOUT PHILIPPINES feature rooms where you have to solve a mystery for your team to go out.

In our case, we'll join a game show. Ha ha ha ha ha ha! That's more fun and kid-friendly anyways.

And we're inside!!!!

We notified the BREAKOUT staff that we're here and gave her our online papers.

She then gave us stickers to write our names on. She also advised us to come up with our team names and song.

Hmmmm.... Yub seems clueless. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

We were all so excited to play that we immediately attached our nametags.  Ha ha ha ha ha!

Our Team Names! YEAH!

Master Mati and Bunsoy Andrei came up with these.

It's TIME!!! We were all instructed to go inside this door.

Inside, we were greeted with this set-up.

Oooh... What are we going to play???

They had 2 tables per team in the room. Each table had various wigs and costumes representing the color of your team.

At our back was a monitor displaying the Team Name, the colors, and the points.

Andrei started mocking THE MARVELS by trying out their costumes! He he he he he he!

TEAM MARKSMEN and TEAM MARVEL are ready!

(Nakakainis mukha and posing ni Yub dito... )

Yup! TEAM MARKSMEN are born ready!!!

Oh you two are SO GOING DOWN...

DOWN TO LOSER TOWN!!!!

After a few minutes, there was a blast of game show music and an announcer welcoming its "viewers" to the game. He then introduces our game show hosts!

The hosts were very lively and funny. They asked us to introduce ourselves and to belt out our team song.

Master Mati and the Yub sang this very lame song. As for me and Andrei, we did "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!" Belat!

The hosts proceeded to explain the prize of the month should our group garner the most number of points for the month.

Then they explained how the whole game will go.

The first was with the "Wheel of Destiny"!

Andrei and Mati went first!

Go Andrei!!!!

You wouldn't know that he's sick from his energy and excitement!

Next up is Master Mati!

TENSE!!!!

I asked if I could have an extra companion to take our pictures while we play, BREAKOUT PHILIPPINES said the ones who could go inside the room were the actual participants. They offered to have one of their staffmembers take our pics.

It's okay. We love taking pictures and videos of the boys anyway!

Master Mati got higher points in that round.

It's okay. We'll catch on.

Since he got the higher points, TEAM MARVEL went first with the trivia game.

The question was "What type of Banana was B1 and B2?"

TEAM MARVEL didn't know and when they threw it at us, we got the wrong answer...

BOO!!!!!!!!

After 2 more questions, TEAM MARVEL won (BOO!). With that, they were given a chance to do the wheel of destiny for more points.

Next up is the BLOW MY CANDLE!

I asked Andrei and he wanted to play for the team.

Mati decided to go for it as well.

This round will require you to blow the candle held by your teammate while your face is held back by stockings.

Like so!

Go Andrei! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

You will get A LOT of laughs here because the faces made by your teammates will be just hilarious!

OMG Andrei! Ha ha ha ha!

I will have nightmares tonight because of this!

It's actually a very hard game but Andrei was able to blow a LOT of candles!

YAAAAS! WE WON THIS ROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next game is to determine the mystery item in a box...

Both players were blind folded for this game.

(In fair ang cute ng hair ko dito... Ha ha ha ha ha!)

TEAM MARVEL...

BOOO!

Bunsoy Andrei and I touched it and it seemed gross...

The Yub was disgusted!

I don't blame him because the mystery item felt flat, rubber, and slimy!!!!

EWWWWW! What is it???

The mystery item? PIGS EAR!

EWWWW! I know!!!!

Nobody was able to guess it. Andrei gave a good guess na plastic flowers. It was closer than what the other guys said.

Eep! We're 500 points behind!

Next up, the BLIND MAZE!

Andrei and I went first.

I was the one holding the magnet from behind to maneuver the metal object thru the maze. Andrei was at the other side to give directions.

The bunsoy actually sang out his directions. Hay naku! Ha ha ha ha ha! There were no directions on how to call out directions but my Andrei felt like singing it out when he got hold of a mike. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

We were SO close! As in the last turn in the maze but we ran out of time.

DRATS. My fault!

We did much better than the boys!

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Since we won that round, we got a bonus turn at the wheel...

AND WE GOT A LOT OF POINTS!

YAYYYY! Andrei and I did the dance for joy!!!!

WOHOOO! We're leading!!!!!

UP YOURS TEAM MARVEL!

Next up is THE DOME!

Dan! Dan! Dan!

I was reminded by the popular show in the 90's, "The Crystal Maze". Hala I hope I'll do well here!

Me and Andrei went in!

EEEP! The strong wind makes it extra hard for us to get the flags!

Up next was TEAM MARVEL...

They came up with this great technique...

... which ensured A LOT of flags in their hats.

GRRRRRRRRRRR!

In the end...

AUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

WE WERE CHEATED!
WE WERE FRAMED!
WE DEMAND A RECOUNT!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After their (blech) win, TEAM MARVEL was given a THE FINAL DARE to garner points for that grand prize of the month.

If they get the 3 crosses, they're out!

Awwwww... They got crossed out.

(Snicker)

OH I'M KIDDING.

Still, they were the winners and the hosts gave their congratulations!

HMP! Crushes ata nila si Chinese Yub that's why they won.

HMP AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh we'll be back.. And you'll all be SO SORRY.

Sorry Andrei. Mommy let you down.

:(

CHE!!!

Yub, I will DEFINITELY not put out tonight!!

He he he he he he he he!

Isang malaking CHE again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, it was a very fun activity for the kiddies. For the full hour, we felt like how it be in a game show! Even if I work in EAT BULAGA, I haven't participated in the live games, so I could just imagine how nerve wracking and awesome it must all be.

We really recommend this for workmates, barkadas, and most of all families! It would be a different bonding experience. The maximum I think is 6 pax per team where participants will be put on rotation per game. Meaning, some will have to just cheer from the sides while the others played. I think it's great that since we were only 2 in a team, we were able to play in ALL of the games! Yay!

When the lady said the whole experience would take 1 hour, we didn't believe it (because 1 hour IS kinda long). But our time was about 1 hour and 15 minutes and we didn't notice it! Grabe! Time really flies when you're having fun.

Still, I'm bummed that Andrei and I lost. I swear, I still gets me all hurt up to now.

>:(

=====================================

The wager for that "battle" was that whoever loses treats the winning team to their restaurant of choice for Saturday dinner. We were not supposed to go out since sick Andrei will be staying home to rest but the Yub and I didn't want to disappoint Master Mati. We figured, my Mom is there to stay with him and he'll have the time of his life playing with his gadgets and watching his favorite Youtube videos.

Since TEAM MARVEL won, Master Mati asked to have Korean food for dinner. But after hearing what Andrei will be doing at home, he kind of wanted to stay home as well.

Then he remembered his favorite Korean food and changed his mind again.  He he hehe he he!

But when we got there...

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA H AH AH HA!!!!

So where will we eat now???

Master Mati remembered how Andrei and I asked for THE GRID if we won. My very kind firstborn decided that we go to THE GRID and have his Daddy treat me instead because he saw how I felt bad from losing.

Awwwwwwwww.....

I was going to sing all my praises to him when Mati said later "I'm sure Andrei will be SO BUMMED that we ate here while he's at home sick...HA!!!!" Then he let out an evil laugh.

HAY NAKO!

DO YOU DARE game room from BREAKOUT PHILIPPINES!

YEAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

OH AND BY THE WAY...

TEAM MARKSMEN forever! YEP! We're the TRUE winners!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup. I will NEVER move on.
