DESSERTS AT MANILA PENINSULA WITH COLLEGE FRIENDS

One weeknight, I met up with my college friends not to make tusok tusok of fishballs but to have dessert somewhere...

Does this illuminated sun look familiar to you? He he he he he!

I got out of work late and met up with my former college friends who just had dinner.

Venue that night for dessert was in Manila Peninsula Hotel!!!

We picked this place not just because they serve the popular desserts (hello Pen Pals!) but because Manila Peninsula played a significant part in our college life.

Yup! 10 (or is it 20??? He he he he) years ago, we had our Senior ball in Manila Pen!!!! See BGP Marian and BB Aning?

O di ba, I'm wearing cheongsam pa??? Ha ha ha ha!!!! I think it's a sort of premonition that I'll be marrying a Chinese Adonis someday!

ROLL CALL!

Magkumares Perlie and Mich!

Marie, Heidi, and Carrots...

Me, the Chinese Dimpol/Stalker, AND the Chinese Photobomber. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Yep!!! My hub is always game to join me in my night outs!

Let's get this dessert ON!!!!

First up is a plate of MANILA PEN's Banana Turon (P390.00)!

The fried banana eggrolls were fried to a perfect golden brown and coated in crisp caramel. It was also served with a luscious scoop of Durian ice cream and gooey butterscotch sauce. Yummers!!!!

Perlie got this too!

Mich was craving for some of MANILA PEN's Halo Halo (P690.00)!

She got a big goblet filled with beans, gelatin, nata de coco, and sweet fruits. It was then topped off with a creamy slab of leche flan and homemade Vanilla Ice Cream!

Mich didn't like beans so much that's why she had it on the side. Still, she was a very happy lady that night to be able to satisfy her sweet craving!

MANILA PEN Cheesecake (P390.00)!

A very rich cut of cheesecake with fresh berries and wedges of white chocolate. It was also served with clots of strawberry syrup and ice cream!

Dear Marie got the MANILA PEN Decadent Chocolate Cake (P390.00)!!!

The dark and fudgy cake also had a very hearty chocolate mousse and ganache.

Of course, dessert is never complete without brewed coffee (P210.00)!

AC girls unite!!!

Missing BB Aning, and BGP Marian!

Let's eat!!!!

It was another chatfest that night full of laughs and plastikan... JOKE! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

It seemed just like yesterday we were terrorizing our teachers and classmates.

Yes seriously. TERRORIZING.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

The MANILA PEN bill!!!!

Time really does fly when you're having fun. Can't believe that 20 years have already passed. Here's to 20 more years ladies!!!! Let's do it in MANILA PEN again!!!!!!!!

SO.

THERE.
