APPLEBEE'S BGC

The Chinese Dimpol and I really enjoyed our dinner at APPLEBEE'S with friends that we promised ourselves to bring the little lords there soon.

As in REAL soon!

And the time came perfectly when one weekend, we were just "nakatiwangwang" lazily in the house (ha ha ha ha! Sorry for the term) when the light bulb beside my big forehead made an energetic "Ding! Ding! Ding!"

LET'S GO TO APPLEBEE'S!!!

Because in APPLEBEE'S, you don't really have to have a reason or occasion to troop on and eat there. The food is enough to get you going up from your "nakatiwangwang-ness".

And on that Saturday, we certainly did!

With feelings!

:P

APPLEBEES in THE FORT!!!

The first floor of APPLEBEE'S is a bar which I imagine could be very packed at nights.

I don't drink. So I only occupied the bar as a waiting area. He he he he he he he!

BLACK OLIVE

It was a Friday night and our group "THE HAPPY NA, MAGANDA PA" are out with out with our hubbies.

Okay before you all cringe, I have to apologize but yes, that IS what we will be calling ourselves. Though you may not entirely agree on the whole statement, that's just what we are feeling at the moment --- Happy!

And what happens when one is happy?

It makes them beautiful!

And where do you find real true beauty?

INSIDE!

NAKS!

Anyway, we're all out and about with our devoted husbands for our usual dinner getogether. When deciding on a place, it was  Mareng Gail's turn to choose whatever she's craving for the night. (Yup! A great idea I got from dear Gem. Because that's what real friends do, taking turns in choosing while others will generously follow.) After a lot of discussion, we ended up in BLACK OLIVE in Capitol Commons. I haven't eaten there so I was doubly excited at how this night is turning out.

Because why shouldn't I be?

We'll be with generous friends with beautiful faces and beautiful souls (naks)....

AND....

We're trying out a restaurant that I've been reading about but haven't tried yet.

For me, that makes up a great equation for a funtabulous Friday night!

Wow! Now I'll be "Happy-er" and "Maganda-er"!

Teee Hee!

BLACK OLIVE!!!

It was a full night but it's a good thing the girls were able to get a table inside.

IT'S YELLOW BOX RICE COMPANY FOR THE WIN!

Say what you want about our country's favorite side dish, but personally, THE RICE IS ALWAYS RIGHT! Yes, it could be an Atkin's diet nightmare but really, who could resist how EVERYTHING seems to be perfect with rice?

Certainly not me.

And now with THE YELLOW BOX RICE COMPANY, the ordeal become harder with their packed boxes of meaty, saucy, and uberly delicious rice toppings. It certainly is a big thumb's up for those searching for a hot-off-the-grill complete meals with the convenience of those handy Chinese take-out boxes. And did I mention the price is something so pocket-friendly? It surely is. Just more and more reasons to try out the new YELLOW BOX and join the rice brigade.

Now have we already tried it?

We most certainly did!

Check it out!

YELLOW BOX RICE COMPANY!!

It was Sunday, family day. And THE YAPPY BUNCH just finished with church. With that, the important question was posted...

Where should we eat???

Our tummies led us to YELLOW BOX in Katipunan Ave, Quezon City.

ROSANJIN JAPANESE RESTAURANT (SM MEGA FASHION HALL)

Because my friends and family got wind that I have this silly little foodie blog, I am now always tasked to think of where to eat when there's a getogether.

Yup! Much to my utter dislike.

I mean, come on! My brain is already so busy as it is! Just recently I had to comprehend that there are female carabaos. Honestly, I really thought they were all males like how roosters and lions are. But, ding! Ding! Ding! I was wrong. At least now, I'm not that grossed out anymore with carabao milk!

Wait. Carabaos..... with milk? (Getting it) Ah yeaaaah.

OH I'M KIDDING! DUH! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Or am I???

Anyway, that's just one of the reasons why I LOVE hanging out with my High School friend, Hershey. Since she loves food as much as I do, she is also very aware of the popular and delicious restaurants in the Metro.

In fact, I think she is MORE aware of the popular and delicious restaurants in the metro than me. Ha ha ha ha ha! That's why it's indeed a breath of fresh air that whenever plan to meet, I don't need to rack my brain up for anything. She is a woman with a plan. And she knows already where our yappy AND hungry group of two are meant to go for our early lunch that Saturday.

The great thing is, whatever restaurant she chooses, the food is always awesome!!!! At least I have another place to add to my list to eat with my family.

And her latest recommendation that I loved was ROSANJIN!

ROSANJIN!!!

ROSANJIN JAPANESE RESTAURANT is located in SM Mega Fashion Hall. And even if I frequent the place, this is the first time I'm going to eat there.

I was there for our early lunch but there were already people enjoying their Japanese fixes.

BIRTHDAY DINNER BY MANONG FRED (2016)

Our very good friend Manong Fred is celebrating his birthday and he invited THE YAPPY BUNCH for his dinner bash at home!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANONG FRED!!!

He said we should be there by 7:30pm and as always, punctual us were on time AND hungry!

Of course, one of the real reasons why we're on time because the Chinese Dimpol and Manong Fred just loooooooove each other very much.

AWWWWWW!

Yuck!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

A BURGER KING SUNDAY BREAKFAST

Could you have burgers for breakfast?

Why not?

It has carbs, veggies, and protein -- essential food groups that will get you energized for the day. Of course, greasy cheeseburgers are not really the traditional choice but you CAN and MAY have it.

ESPECIALLY if you're in the ERICJAZ FOODIES family! Tee heee!

Such was our predicament last Sunday when we heard mass at Santuario de San Jose. We were late so we did not have any parking space. After dropping us off, the Chinese Dimpol decided to park in the nearby BURGER KING and just had a slight walk going to church. We don't normally do that (park in an establishment where we won't be going in) but the Chinese Dimpol didn't have a choice since all slots and side streets were full. I think he was just hoping that going to church is a valid reason. He he he he he he!

After mass, we were all thinking of where to eat for our late breakfast. Normally we would have something light like Krispy Kreme or Pancake House because we will be having our usual Sunday lunch with my family in an hour. But when the little lords saw that we were parked in BURGER KING, they all made the unanimous decision because they felt it was "mean" to park somewhere and not eat in it.

Yup! That's us! Even establishments have feelings. He he he he he he!

At first I was not sold on the idea because burgers for breakfast are so heavy it would feel like having rocks in my tummy. But then like I said, it would still have the essentials to fine tune our stomachs before our family lunch later. After all, you could never really go wrong with burgers! So yes, it would be nice to have something different from our "Sunday-after-mass-breakfasts." And in the name of diversity (by chance and justification), that would have to be BURGER KING.

Oooh yeah! THE KING IS HERE!

BURGER KING in Connecticut St, San Juan just opened and we liked the "new" vibe of the place.

FREEZER BURN

We just finished dinner at VILLAGE TAVERN with Best Gal Pal Mariane and Manong Fred when we realized that we just saved the best for last....

DESSERT!

And for that night, there was only one candidate for us as we have been reading a lot of great reviews about it. Yup you got it. FREEZER BURN -- the new baby of Chef Miko Aspiras and Chef Kristine Lotilla, the cool tandem that gave us Scout's Honor.

FREEZER BURN is indeed the place to be at BGC. Even if temperatures were below normal in the Metro, people were still flocking the small hub to get a taste of Chef Miko and Kristine's uber creamy creations. I for one got under the "spell" too because even if I was supposed to be on a diet, I gave a very resounding yes that would've brought Sally Albright to shame when FREEZER BURN was brought up.

So it was definitely a luscious and delicious nightcap for us that time in FREEZER BURN. FINALLY, we were able to taste (and enjoy) what the hype was about!!!!

FREEZER BURN!

The lines were ultra long in FREEZER BURN that night. But BGP Marian and I still went for it!!

FREEZER BURN had a very small area with counters and seats. While we were lining up, I got more excited while checking out what the other diners ordered.

Entering FREEZER BURN is like getting inside an ice cream truck especially with the colors and designs!

YEY! Finally I could see the menu!

FREEZER BURN menu 1...

FREEZER BURN menu 2!

I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have coffee in FREEZER BURN. It's okay though because there was a coffee shop beside it.

Lining up with my Best Gal Pal!

While our boys saved our table outside.

Hmmmm... I feel the need to bonk both their heads. He he he he he!

Kidding! We asked them to buy coffee and tea for us later on.

Hmmm... Now what should we get in FREEZER BURN?

Should we go for their specialties or just ice cream with toppings?

Ice Cream flavors in FREEZER BURN are not your usual run of the mill types!

Cookies and Junk Food...

Corn and Cheese???

Butter Ice Cream??

Ketchup and Mayo????

WADAPAKESHNESS???/

(Don't worry. I'm just using the above word for comical purposes. I don't say that out loud. He he he he he he!)

PAK GANERN???

Same with that too.

FINALLY! Chocolate! My favorite!

FREEZER BURN had an open kitchen where you'll see your orders being whipped up.

BGP Marian treated me that night well because maybe I was looking cuter than usual.

Yup! The wonders of using deodorant.

:)

We got this and just waited for the FREEZER BURN signal!

And after a few minutes....

YEYYY!

While Manong Fred got our ice cream, the Chinese Dimpol caught me talking to myself while making my coffee.

What the....?!!!!

Now that's my look of death.

BGP's missing her hub already. UUUUUY!

My FREEZER BURN Ola (P295.00)!!!

One full scoop of very decadent and rich chocolate ice cream with about 4 pieces of churros!

The chocolate ice cream was so fudgy and decadent that you could use it to "dip" your churros!

I loved that the FREEZER BURN churros were crunchy and not greasy at all. I could actually eat it by its lonesome and not be cloyed by it.

If you want an alternative to the chocolate fudginess, you could go for the vanilla sauce that's in the syringe.

As for the BGPness, she ordered the FREEZER BURN 3 scoops!

She got the butter, the Maple, and the Cookies and Junk Food!

We all loved the Cookies and Junk Food and the Maple. We liked the Butter flavor the least because it was salty. Those who wanted more bite in their ice cream would love it. As for us, we'll go more for the sweet flavors. He he he he he!

You may think that the FREEZER BURN servings are not enough. But for us, since they were all so rich, we were all satisfied!

In no time, we're almost done!

Manong Fred was hesitating to finish off the shy piece.

As for the butter, we finished it off little by little.

Afterwards we fooled around with the Snapchat filters!

Yup! We just discovered the beauty AND fun of SNAPCHAT! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

When you can, do follow us on SNAPCHAT. I try my best to be normal in it. He he he he he he he!

Truly an enchanted and luscious evening for ERICJAZ FOODIES with our BGPs (Best Gal/Guy Pals).

Soon we'll be back at FREEZER BURN to try out more flavors!!!!

OH.

YEAH.

Add me on Snapchat.... He he he he he he he he!
